Where should I start? The beginning is the best, but I won’t say more! The movie has positive elements like standing up to bullies, forgiving others, and valuing relationships. Now for the bad things… There is some bad language, but not much. A man is naked except for a towel. He is only shown naked from the waist up. Later, the same guy tries to do a strip tease, but is strongly rebuked. You can skip both scenes without losing anything. There are jokes about drugs and alcohol. The MC asks another character if he’s gay. He repeats the question sarcastically and laughs. The movie is not for kids under 13, but teens and up will like the sweet romance. This is a great family movie for older kids. Our 11-year-old liked it. The movie is funny and has good messages for kids. The main character reflects on her life at 30 and decides to make changes.

Totally agree! I cant stop thinking about how bad this movie was! So many storylines going on at once to the point that none of them were given enough time to actually be appreciated or resolved. It was like every character had their own separate quest we’d see for one or two quick scenes and then it would be “wrapped up” in a sentence. Like they were building up Paris’ problems in school and then the “resolution” was her saying – i need to get my life together. What should have been the main plot of the movie in my opinion was trying to find the dads old friends. It was really lost amongst everything else going on and then in the end we saw the guys for like one quick scene?! Not to mention the unnecessary new characters (the brother?!) that they spent zero time developing but im supposed to care about for some reason? What a mess! Oh and yes, feels like so many things were cut out and what was left just made no sense. Like when they were told they couldn’t stop anywhere because they had to catch a ferry but then oh yes we have time to all run into the ocean in our clothes?! Then they apparently went shopping and are all in new clothes? Ok I need to stop myself or I never will…. Sad ending for a series that started out so great!
If they were going to do a soulless cashgrab, they could have at least done it in the better part of Greece like Athens, Mykonos or Crete (some of the characters even suggest touring those places and more before Toula and the aunt shuts them down), all of which are beautiful locations with gorgeous landscapes and beaches. Instead for most of the runtime we are stuck in a medieval ghost town and only occasionally get to see some of the more worthwhile places to visit.
I have a special affinity with the first movie and good memories perusal it many years ago with my then girlfriend and subsequently fiancée. And myself being Mediterranean and her Japanese, we discussed it excitingly and enthusiastically. The first movie is to me a classic. And it’s a happy movie. My family is a lot like the Portokalos family, since we are from the Greek culture. And I have lived in America for six years. I kind of enjoyed the second film but it can’t say that I like it. Then I got curious with the third movie, but I hated it and will not count it as a sequel at all and instead pretend it wasn’t even made in the first place. This is what I’ll say about this third “project” (it doesn’t even qualify as a movie in my book): It was politicised, and made into some negative, overly dramatised, exaggerated, and redundantly nostalgia based Hollywood project. And knowing that Tom Hanks produced it, I hate it even more! I’ll stick with the first movie which I love and which will always have a special place in my mind and memories. It was very well made and a very rich movie.
This movie was just not funny. Honestly it was a mess, the reunion plot was weak. The ‘mayor’ cousin was really weird and out of place (what was with ‘the best’ thing she kept doing?). The brother character was barely developed. They also turned Paris the daughter into a complete loser. I was so underwhelmed by this, it didnt need to be made. Especially as some of the key cast have died irl.
I feel like there was a lot of scenes that were just put together and something was cut out of them like they were just put together randomly like what the fuc and then like the wife being attracted to her brother and s*** while she’s still married like what the fuc I would have wanted a divorce the minute she was sitting there saying oh I saw this attractive man like what the f*** is wrong with this movie the jokes were just off it just felt so rushed
This is not the usual movie I see but my wife loved the first 2, so we watched them b4 going to see part 3. I actually loved the first one and liked the second one but saw the 3rd last night and I was really disappointed and I’ll never get back those 90 minutes. Horrible movie and I hope it’s the last!
