📹 These 10 House Republicans Flipped Their Votes On The Same-Sex Marriage Bill
The House has sent the Respect for Marriage Act to President Biden’s desk after all Democrats and 39 Republicans in the body …
Unbelievable…so, my 36 year marriage to my Latino husband is illigitimate and our 2 daughters are bastards. It keeps getting better and better. Any woman, Latino, Black, Asian, gay people voting for REPUBS in November have doomed our country. My husband thought I overreacted to the reversal of Roe…. Now he is on board with moving overseas…and taking our huge retirement savings out of the US to live in a sane country for the rest of our lives. I sacrificed a lot during my. 34 year Federal career as an emergency manager….for people like this who are destroying our Nation?
I am 67 years old and any law against interracial marriage most definitely could have affected me in some of the relationships that I have had in my life. I know what it’s like to love someone from a different race. Love is love. With God as my witness, I will never ever vote for a Republican for as long as I live. First Roe, now this. How dare these people force their hateful, bigoted personal beliefs on the rest of us by law. The American people better wake up and wake up soon. If you don’t think your rights, whatever it is that you hold dear, won’t be affected by this fascist movement, you better think again.
A friend said to me abortion isn’t my issue, so I don’t care. “First they came for the socialist, I did not care. I wasn’t a socialist. Then they came for the unions……….. Then they came for me and there was no one to help me. Never forget even if it is not my cause, it is important to stand up for those getting persecuted.
In a truly free America where you’re born shouldn’t determine who you can marry, not everyone has the resources to go to another state to get married where gay marriage or interracial marriage is legal, and if the states can decide who can get married then we can likely guess which ones will outlaw it and the people in those states who can’t afford to leave will be restricted from marrying who they want likely because of where they were born
Actually there is no Constituional right to marriage between anyone. But if you grant rights to some people it needs to be granted to all. These rights are granted through the secular institution of marriage, and has nothing to do with religious marriage. But why confuse people with facts when their own fear and hatred is on full display.
The ability to marry whoever you want shouldn’t have been routed in the right to privacy anyway. I get why that was the route they went back then, but today, in 2022, it should simply be routed in the fact that people should be able to marry whoever the hell they want. It’s not about privacy rights, it’s about freedom, it’s about living your life the way you want, it’s about equality, it’s about liberty, it’s about the pursuit of happiness, it’s about all people are equal regardless of race. Pack the court with progressive judges and fight it under the reasons I stated above, not privacy laws. Win under the reasons I stated above and it can’t be taken away by the extremist far right.
We’ve seen this before… FIRST THEY CAME PASTOR MARTIN NIEMOLLER First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me.
1967… 1967???, and, there is a flaw in another money making law?? This tells me we as a nation that incumbents now and in over fifty years of politician’s did not to their jobs, why did they get paid? And, continue to get paid to redo laws. All Washington DC politicians need to work for free and it’s time they return money to the people for making money in out of government ventures. Any other company would fire employees for embezzling
Imagine banning interracial marriage being a black Supreme Court judge married outside his race….or the the white Supreme Court judge and adopting children outside her race. Riiiight that ain’t happening. That’s a joke. As a black woman married to an Italian man for more than 20 years…Can’t touch this!!
Thomas needs to be REMOVED from the court for being impartial… covering for his wife should have gotten his ass reamed and didnt… Hello? if that had been ANYONE at a job they would have lost it immediately. 3:30 Brian Tyler Cohen said it best… “When it comes to the GQP every accusation is a CONFESSION” ~2022.
some people might not have liked this guy….but he had the right idea. “Take this thing on homosexuality. The view we take is, there’s no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation. What’s done in private between adults doesn’t concern the Criminal Code.” … Former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau – 1967
I love the compromise bill tbh. No one should be forced to marry two people against their beliefs. At the same time homosexual marriage should still be legal. Just find someone cool with marrying you. If your pastor, etc wont marry you. Maybe you should leave that church. Are you really gonna donate money to a church that wouldnt recognize your marriage?
Bruh, that rainbow flag with the brown and the pink is the equivalent of Animal Farm’s “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” It’s very loaded. The colors of the rainbow already include all colors. Why do you need to particularly add the brown and the pink? Because you’re an extreme-left ideologue, that’s why!
