What’S Gaby Cooking Italian Wedding Soup?

Italian Wedding Soup is a hearty and delicious recipe made with bite-sized herbed beef and pork meatballs, veggies, and ingredients. It is a marriage of flavors made in heaven, with ground sausage and beef rolled into meatballs, simmered with flavorful broth and pasta, and served with leafy greens. The soup takes a little time to make but is well worth the effort.

To make the soup, heat olive oil over medium heat and fry the meatballs in batches, turning occasionally. In a medium dutch oven, sauté onion and bell pepper, garlic, ginger, curry powder, and red pepper flakes. Add lentils and cook for 5 minutes.

For the meatballs, preheat the oven to 450ºF and line a baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil. Mix together the beef, sausage, parmesan, parsley, egg, garlic, panko, salt, and pepper until well combined. Roll into one-inch meatballs and cook for 2-3 minutes or until tender.

In a large pot, sauté the onion, garlic, chickpeas, marinara sauce, boiling water, and season with salt and pepper. Cook the onion, garlic, jalapeño, salt, pepper, dried oregano, cumin, and chipotle pepper.

For a creamy Italian Wedding Soup with meatballs, wilted kale, and plenty of parmesan, use 1/2 pound ground chicken, 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley, 1 small onion, finely diced garlic, and 1/2 cup Italian bread.

Wedding soup or Italian wedding soup is an Italian1 soup consisting mainly of green vegetables and meat in chicken broth. It is popular in the United States, where it is a staple in many Italian restaurants and diners.

Originedit. The term wedding soup comes from a mistranslation of the Italian language phrase minestra maritata (married soup). Minestra maritata more directly translates to wedded broths. The marriage of its meats and veggies inside of its broth is the only matrimony relevant in this context.2.

Ingredientsedit. Wedding soup consists of green vegetables (usually endive and escarole or cabbage, lettuce, kale, and/or spinach) and meat (usually meatballs and/or sausage, the latter sometimes made of chicken and containing Italian parsley and Parmesan cheese) in a clear chicken-based broth. Wedding soup sometimes contains pasta (usually cavatelli, fusilli, acini di pepe, pastina, orzo, etc.), lentils, carrots, or grated Parmesan cheese. Egg whites are also a common addition.

Buddha Jumps Over The Wall. The most expensive soup available on a menu is served in Londons upscale Mayfair neighbourhood. Guinness World Records certified that the £108 bowl of “Buddha Jumps Over the Wall soup” is the most expensive on any menu in the world. The ingredients for this soup are more than just expensive, they are rare and include:

  • Abalone ( This is the meat of a sea snail. People harvesting it have to watch out for great white sharks)
  • Japanese flower mushroom (this is one of the highest grade Shiitake mushrooms available)
  • Sea cucumber
  • Dried scallops
  • Chicken
  • Huan ham (this ham comes only from the hind legs of certain pigs, takes months to prepare and can only be produced at certain times of year.)
  • Pork
  • Ginsing

The next soup on our list has a big price tag but it might require an iron stomach.

What Is Italian Wedding Soup?. Italian wedding soup is a hearty Italian soup consisting of noodles, vegetables, meatballs, and broth. It was originally a peasant dish, meaning its made from inexpensive ingredients that anyone could find.

Why Is It Called Italian Wedding Soup?. Even though its called wedding soup, this soup has nothing to do with weddings. The name comes from the Italian phrase minestra maritata, which actually means married soup. But its not the marriage we think of — its actually referring to the marriage of the ingredients and the flavor it produces.

What is the real name of Italian wedding soup?

Minestra maritata Minestra maritata (The Original Italian “Wedding Soup”) Wedding soup is a popular Italian-American dish made with escarole and tiny meatballs simmered in chicken broth and adorned with small pasta, typically of the tiny acini di pepe (or peppercorn) type.

As regular readers know, every October, which is Italian-American Heritage Month here in the US, we feature an Italian-American dish. This year’s entry is the famously misnamed Wedding Soup. A mistranslation of minestra maritata, a classic Neapolitan soup whose name means “married soup”, the marriage in question doesn’t involve a human couple but the “marriage” of various meats and greens.

I’ve written before about how Italian dishes tend to become more extravagant when they cross the Atlantic: richer, heavier, with more ingredients and more emphasis on meats over vegetables. Well, Wedding Soup might be the exception that proves the rule. It is one of the few instances where the New World version is actually simpler and lighter than the Old World original.

While the recipe for minestra maritata calls for a hefty mixture of four or more different meats and four different greens simmered for two or three hours, resulting in a dish that is more like a stew than a true soup, Wedding Soup is a delicate bowl of tiny meatballs and escarole briefly simmered in abundant broth. Most recipes also call for pasta—missing from minestra maritata—for good measure. Unlike minestra maritata, which is usually reserved for special occasions like Christmas or Easter, so long as you have the broth on hand, you can whip up a Wedding Soup any time in well under an hour.

Food in Italy goes beyond appetite. Food carries meaning and history, and above all, is embedded in the way of being of a whole community. If you are planning to rent a villa in Italy, you’re likely to end up in one of the many historic restaurants— Trattoria Cammillo (Florence), Armando (Rome) and Osteria Le Logge (Siena) to name a few. To indulge in Italian culture, you’ll need more than just a passion for food. You will need Galateo.

Galateo is the Italian word for etiquette. You may have heard this word before — the book Galateo: The Rules of Polite Behaviour by the Florentine author Giovanni Della Casa has influenced etiquette all over Europe for centuries. In his work, Della Casa advises his readers on how to maintain the best manners in all circumstances. However if you know Italians, there is nothing that sparks more outrage than breaking Italian dining etiquette.

What is the difference between minestrone and Italian wedding soup?

Its similar to minestrone, but is made with meatballs; minestrone is usually made from vegetables and pasta. Italian wedding soup is a phenomenal freezer-friendly soup, and it doesnt take long to make – a perfect project for a chilly afternoon!

Italian Wedding Soup Ingredients. Italian wedding soup is made from a wonderful combination of meatballs, pasta, and vegetables simmered in a tasty broth. Youll need meatballs – you can make them from scratch or buy frozen ones from your local supermarket, as well as fresh veggies like celery, carrots, onions, and spinach.

Chicken broth forms the liquid base of the soup, and youll need some acini de pepe pasta, which is a type of small round pasta often used in soups and salads.

Do they eat wedding soup in Italy?

Upon a quick Google search, youll learn Italian Wedding Soup is not a soup traditionally served at Italian weddings at all (bummer), but yet another Italian American twist on a classic—Minestra Maritata. This “married soup” gains its robust flavor from the blending (or marriage) of ingredients like bitter greens and tough pieces of meat cooked in broth. The variations Ive found include, but are not limited to, mustard greens, escarole, broccoli rabe, cabbage, potatoes, sausage, pancetta, prosciutto, white beans, rice and pasta pieces, all cooked together in a homemade stock.

My familys “minest” is the ultimate comfort food, a hug from the inside, a “warm you right up on a cold day and make you feel extra loved” kind of meal. My grandmothers had cabbage, salami, sausage and white beans. My mothers has “scarole” (escarole), potatoes and beans. My friend Rachael Ray also makes hers with escarole, plus cannellini beans and pancetta, served with a big slice of garlic-rubbed peasant bread. All three of these amazing family recipes are different, warming, delicious and absolutely covered in freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano.

One of the most distinguishing differences between Italian Wedding Soup and its predecessor are meatballs. I am assuming the adorable, teeny tiny meatballs that float around in our beloved Italian Wedding Soup bowls are a nod to the bits of pork or chicken that are found in a classic Minestra Maritata.

Its the marriage of ingredients, and the resulting delicious flavor, in the soup! All wedding soups are going to have green vegetables and meat.

  • I am mexican, my partner is german. Before meeting his family i asked him about their customs so i knew how it was appropriate for me to behave (turns out they are super relaxed 🙂). My point is, if you are getting into a new culture, and specially if you want to have a good relationship with them, it’s just common sense to ask how things are done… 1. You cannot expect people to behave the same everywhere you go. That is just fully ignorant (or arrogant?) 2. It’s about your partner, you want to have a good relationship with his family because you love this person, so you are the one to adapt. Its not about you! I am sorry but I find her painfully fake and annoying.

  • Did Harry and Meghan ever TALK??? Meghan keeps alleging, “I didn’t know…”, “I didn’t realize…”, “No one told me…”. Shouldn’t Harry have explained things to Meghan, especially as he continuously states how concerned he was about Meghan entering the RF and all the scrutiny that brings, both from the family (which can happen with all families when a new partner is introduced), from the country, and from the world? Wouldn’t his deep concern have prompted him to explain to her, and to make make sure that the others whose role is it to explain to her were doing their job, all the things she would need to know to ensure a smooth transition?

  • As a Japanese-American, I know I don’t need to bow with white Americans. As a Japanese-American, I know I don’t need to hug my Japanese relatives in Japan. One culture is not better than the other just because they are different. It’s also not super difficult, all you have to be is a bit mindful. Something about the way she says it sounds so condescending.

  • I don’t understand how people can’t see how she constantly bullies Kate over the years. The stress Kate must have been under was likely not good for her health (my mum had a sister-in-law who bullied her over 10 years in these “subtle” ways and it nearly destroyed my mum 😢). I’m not saying it’s literally Meghan’s fault that Kate got cancer (Harry is at fault for bringing all this stress to the family). But this probably added another stress level to Kate’s life. I think the last drop in the barrel was the racism allegation last winter through the book of Meghan’s friend.

  • Passive aggressive digs at your sister in law is as low class as it comes. She’ll find anything to brag about “look at me, so casual in bare foot and ripped jeans”. Personally, I don’t think throwing a pair of shoes on would’ve been too much trouble meeting your future in laws. But she found a way to punch down, all the same. 😂 I also love how it’s worked in Kate’s favour. People saw right through it 😊❤

  • This was Meghan’s lack of understanding the British culture. It’s not just formal with royals. I married a British man and my mother in law would invite me over for dinner parties. Everyone also dressed very nicely, the table was set immaculately, three course meal of appetisers, mains and a dessert which was normally chocolate lava cakes. It’s lovely and I love these formal dinner parties. Can you imagine having a dinner party with the ROYALS and walking around barefoot in jeans?! I’m American and even I KNOW that is not what’s done. She makes us look ignorant.

  • She’s just trying to make herself sound down to earth but she’s not. No one is buying your lies Meghan. When she first came on the scene and they announced their engagement I gave her the benefit of the doubt despite what people were already saying about her. Six years down the line, I can understand what people were saying.

  • Respect is given to your future husbands family, it’s truly not all about Meg. I hope they are both proud of themselves for attacking non stop the King and Princess Kate who are suffering from cancer diagnosis, not to mention William who is acting like a future king in the face of all this while Meg and H whine about how rough they have it. Not funny. Shame on them.

  • I’ve seen another article of Princess Catherine hugged the midwife who helped her on the birth of Princes Charlotte when she was attend royal engagement. And also that’s a proof that RF didn’t do racism like she mentioned, the midwife is black woman too. The princess take a glance and stopped immediately, hugged the midwife then continue the walk to attend the engagement.

  • They are taught proper manners. First time meeting only need gand shakes after dinner you like the person it is a hug for goodbyes. When we invite people to our house we make sure wr dressed up properly. It is dinner not garden snackd or pucnic. It shows she is not well taught by a mother. Btw i am an ordinary mom from Philippines. Who strived to teach my daughters good manners, common sense and compassions. Always make mommy proud! That was my go go words to them growing up.

  • What person would meet their new family/potential sister and brother in law in ripped jeans and bare foot unless you were on a beach!! I mean you make the effort the first time, even if they’re not royalty!! She had a plan to show the royal family what she thought were the error of their ways. The arrogance of a narcissist.

  • Do NOT call us ‘Brits’. We are English, Welsh, Scots, or Northern Irish. If you must lump all 4 nationalities together, then call us the British or Britons. I hate being hugged by anyone. I resent my space being invaded. This close-up of MM’s smug face and the sound of her grating voice makes me feel sick. Her lack of respect for William and Catherine is offensive.

  • People taking apart her comments as usual. I’m sure if it were someone else, there wouldn’t be a problem. Reminds of when Michelle Obama met the Queen and she hugged her and the media made a big deal about it – the queen hugged her in return even though it was not typical protocol. Just leave her alone.. Meeting future in laws can be a bit stressful, what would be wrong with giving K and W a hug. They were not on royal duty and could have relaxed a bit.

  • The whole purpose of this idiotic comment about curtsying is because she is unbearably JEALOUS of Princess Catherine – so much so that it kills her to think that she will one day have to curtsy to Catherine every time she sees her for the rest of her life (assuming her marriage to Harry lasts) She would rather leave the UK than have to curtsy to someone she is insanely JEALOUS of.

  • It’s not a dig, she’s just saying what it is…. Stop demolishing her or anyone ….. so hypocritical that we all promote mental health and here I see most Brits destroying MM’s mental health as if they really knew what she experienced… and even so, stop being hypocritical promoting care and concern and all this mental health is important when on the other hand, these same folks are ripping someone apart. Be nice and empathetic and if u guys have nothing nice to say, just say nothing….otherwise, and if u truly think that she’s taking a dig, you guys are no different

  • You can’t see how rude that is to greet guests, let alone those who will be family by marriage, in ripped jeans and barefoot, in this case two people who will be King and Queen of the UK?? If you’re truly that clueless concerning basic manners then that is not something to broadcast to the world. Most people wouldn’t dream of meeting their boyfriend/ fiance’s family for the first time in such attire!

  • Those of you who kiss her point of being surprised that Royals don’t RELAX EVER is ridiculous. Stuck-up doesn’t =royalty. Rigidity doesn’t =”manners”. Here in the US manners is associated with “politeness” and royalty is associated with an inner quality or glow that sets you apart. Megan IS regal. She is far more eloquent, graceful, and adorable than what you all have seen since Diana. You just couldn’t for the life of you bring yourself to believe that even BLACK people can walk amongst Kings. You all missed a moment. Now you’re trapped in a dying relic of imagined house of cards. Go find Kate!!

  • Admits she understands formality is their preferred method of interacting, still refers to them as “Will and Kate”. Me-ghan tries so hard to make them look bad, fails spectacularly, and instead highlights her own conscious disregard for their feelings. This is what total lack of self awareness looks like.

  • I absolutely agree with Meghan….. Diana said the same. The Palace has an outer exterior, and an inner core… The latter is cold and toxic and anyone signing up to it will be conditioned to conform. People forget, that Meghan experienced it and we didnt. Kate knew deep down that she was going to be enslaved by the cult when she married wills, but didn’t care at the time because the public purse was a better option than doing a nine to five. Meghan was already wealthy and established in a career, Kate was literally owned and was only accepted to produce an heir. Fast forward, H and M living their best life, and yet W & K are unravelling before our eyes. H married for love, W married for convenience. Getting away from that palace was the best thing the Sussexes could have done; H saved his real family. Anyone that doesn’t see beyond the facade of that draconian establishment, are dilluded. Everything that’s printed good about them is all down to PR and deceit. They own the media. H and M were viscerally attacked for years, bullied and discredited because they didn’t confirm. Once the house of cards falls and the truth about the cult is exposed, there’ll be people hanging their heads in shame at their cognitive dissonance, and believing a complete lie that has been conditioning them for decades……

  • Cultural differences should be respected on both sides. That’s the bottom line. Meghan is already admitting to an assumption (royals shouldn’t be “acting”) — so no point in excising her for it; however, Kate came from the US too, and you’d think they would’ve bonded over that, but it doesn’t feel like they did.

  • She so wanted to come off as unpretentious and laidback, the cool American girl. But all I’m hearing is her lack of manners. If you’re meeting your partner’s family for the first time it is expected for one to behave well and get to know them first. She was meeting royals and she didn’t know? Anyone would know basic manners Meg, anyone would.

  • So Catherine is cold while Me-again is warm-hearted? Really? The folks who know them best would beg to differ. All who know Catherine affirm that she is warm, caring, kind. Those who know Markle(ex-husbands, former co-workers, father and step-siblings) affirm that she is cold, heartless, and cruel. Looks like good’ole narcissist Markle is projecting again.

  • Soo, essentially, what she’s saying is that not everyone is fake? Pretentious? Obviously, she is ignorant of the role of the Royal family, British history and culture, and if she has any real knowledge and understanding, she has little respect. I wonder too, does Meghan even understand and respect the art of acting? Can’t imagine her in theatre .. I think she enjoys “performing”. She plays the lead role in the drama that is her life. Quite sad.

  • What she’s basically saying is that Kate is the same in public and in private: so what you see is what you get while Meghan just plays the part when needed and has a different persona for different occasions. Also: you might be a hugger but it doesn’t mean everyone likes to be touched, especially by strangers!

  • Meghan is so irritating! Why is this an issue to her. Everyone has their different level of comfortability when meeting new people. She’s insufferable. She expcted the Prince and Princess of Wales to be all over her and love her instantly. Well sorry bc i think they saw through all of her BS instead.

  • American here. That is not called jarring it’s called disrespect. Even then she was jealous of Kate. Message: Not only am I just as good as you but I am BETTER than you. No Americans grab people without their permission and hug them. It’s rude, weird & seems insane. That she’s claiming it’s an American thing and the British are “out of the loop” is rude, vile, desperate, contrived and arrogant. How dare she. She will be despised in her own country in perpetuity. 🇺🇸

  • I’ve seen Kate hug little children and royal fans many many times. They’re authentic hugs of joy and love. I do NOT believe for one second that Kate was anything but kind and warm. She will use every opportunity to take a dig at the family and it makes me sick! The constant lies are what’s jarring!😡

  • I married a German. First time meeting his family was quite formal compared to my Latin American culture. However, we met it in such a natural way that it wasn’t a problem for me. We Shake hands and smiled. A year later, it was hugs, laughs and sweetest relationship with my in-laws. North Europeans just need something: time to get to know you. Just be yourself but respect their personal bubble to deflate towards you at their pace.

  • Meghan was always obsessed with Diana and her title as the princess of wales. Posed in front of the royal palace but claimed to not no them. Posed with Kate magazine cover, and wrote a blog about William and Kate’s wedding. It is reported she wanted William but since he didn’t fell for her cheap yacht looks she got the spare. But that isn’t enough for Megain. She doesn’t want to bow to her sister in law. She wants the throne and since she can’t get it she wants to destroy them.

  • All the nasty comments about Meghan must affect Harry in a negative way, his children will see and hear of the hate one day also. People need to think of this and if any of them tuck their life you’d be the first to say “oh poor Megan or Harry,” and God forbid any of their kids harmed themselves. Princess Diana would be saddened by the hate. Harry chooses to be with his wife so people need to leave them alone.

  • To be so personal and critical about how formal things are behind closed doors, what does she expect. I bet in their own home they are relaxed, we have seen Kate be very kind and affectionate when meeting young children and others. Maybe it’s you Meghan….😂 you give off such bad vibes always ready to constantly pick at it. Poor Meghan me myself and I. Always about her!

  • Catherine Princess of Wales is a beautiful, graceful, classy woman who works quietly on behalf of her people with organizations to help people improve their lives and mental health. I have never heard her disparaging anyone or even “subtly” implying negativity. She is a lovely lady a true diamond of the first water.

  • Her not showing any effort to dress for the occasion knowing that she was meeting royals regardless of the fact that they are her boyfriend’s family shows how big her ego is. You always want to put your best foot forward when meeting in laws for the first time, how much more if they are the future king and queen of a country? It’s also surprising that she did not prepare herself by learning about the culture before she decided to meet the family (again, especially as they are the most popular royals in the world). This is puzzling to me, and I simply can’t believe something so simple was overlooked, and when they did not react the way she expected them to, she decided there must be something wrong with them.

  • I’m a native Californian. When I had my future brother in law and sister in law over for dinner to meet them for the first time – I wore shoes, and a comfortable, but classy casual outfit – and my future B&SIL were not to be the next King and Queen of England. This woman intended FULL ON to INSULT William and Catherine. And her talking about it here as if this formality is bad – I can totally see her invading people’s space, prying into their personal lives, I heard she even took photos of a sleeping Charlotte – shows that Meghan Markle has every intention of hurting Catherine, Princess of Wales out of spiteful jealousy and the Prince of Wales for not liking her at all. God, the Wales are so lucky she and Harry left. Even us Progressive Democrats who originally like her now see what a con artist and bully she and Harry are.

  • I didn’t hear a dig. She simply expressed her experience. Is that not allowed? Also, she is not the first person to say that Brits don’t show affection publicly. Maybe she heard that, and at that time, they didn’t show affection to her in their first meeting. Brits should not be offended. I know lots of Americans who are not huggers. I think it depends on the individuals. People in a position of leadership don’t always hug. But meeting family should be different. I can understand why she may have expected more intimacy.

  • After having lived in California for several years, I’ve realized people from that state (born and raised) are just overly casual, somewhat lazy and always easily offended. Californians are in a bubble of superficial interactions, verbal gymnastics, continuous beating around the bush and most social interactions in the rest of the world are usually too much for them to handle, because directness and formal etiquette is just not the norm for most. They find it to be mean and the rest of the world thinks of them as rude.

  • It is NOT normal to meet your in laws while barefoot in America. We might be less refined than the Brits, but this is a hard no. Most people wouldn’t wear ripped jeans on the first meeting either, as casual as we are. The hugging thing depends on the people – lots of Americans do a light hug when they are meeting, but some of us also reserve it for people we know – like family and close friends. Also, NO ONE shares lip gloss (which Meghan claims in another article) except maybe sisters. So gross.

  • There are so many points here that scream of how inept Meghan Markle is. First of all, she decides to meet her future in laws by wearing ripped jeans and barefoot, knowing you should look presentable on your first meeting with the in laws, but especially if they are the next King and Queen of the UK. Then she jumps in for hugs when meeting strangers for the first time. Who does that?? Very weird to hug total strangers the first time you meet them. It really shows how socially unaware she is, probably because she thinks only of herself

  • There’s nothing wrong with being a hugger if you respect the fact that not everyone is. British culture is strictly formal. Hugging is OK amongst close family and friends, but it is an absolute NO NO at formal gatherings or institutions. The royal family is at the very heart of the british institution, and people look to them to keep their customs alive. They HAVE to set the example. They are the face of the country with ancestry and traditions stretching back to William the Conqueror in 1066. To complain about the formal nature of the British is not going to win you any favours among them. That is who they are.

  • Meghan’s response sounds like she didn’t bother doing any study on the meaning and purpose of the event. She pitched herself as a graduate of international studies who wanted to ‘hit the ground running’, insisting that she be a working Royal despite the late Queen’s offer to continue as an actor. She sounded dismissive and vapid. No wonder Catherine was startled.

  • There is genuine concern for Kate. Eugenie was once seen pushing past Kate rudely at an event years ago right in front of William and her father Prince Edward walking behind them all. Could Cousin Eugenie and perhaps later William, known back then the nasty rumors about former “yacht party girl” days with Branson or of having slept with her father embrolied in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal? Could that rumor have caused a rift in their relationship and/or the Rose affair? Apart from that, the UK press is visibly doing such a botched job of sharing old articles and photos of Kate Middleton (Princess Catherine) to fill in for her MIA whereabouts and status that changes daily. It all makes no sense to people with common sense. Are they covering up something that may have happened to her the night ambulances were called on 12/28? Since that night 2 months ago and counting, no one has seen live current footage or pictured of her or the children while recovering, or working from home, or moving from place to place, or her seeing her parents, or her sending out a well wish article to the King for his cancer illness..nothing for 2 whole months? In most places, after 3 days, a report for a missing person would go out. Williams demeanor has been reported over and over to be quite noticeably odd, for even the Brits, showing up to a few events looking visibly nervous, ill, or hungover or MIA altogether. The RF were seen wearing all black awhile ago for some reason, again reports later PW stated Kate was “working from home” but no sight of Kate waving leaving the hospital when she left but instead an entourage of black windowless vans, some brits noticing no camera footage avail of flags being at full or half mast lately, all the purposeful distraction turn more on trashing Harry and Meghan as usual.

  • Does NOT seem jealous or rude.seems a little nervous. One word answers are meant to not take time and attention from anyone. When people give long answers it is often ego driven and seeking attention. The one word answer was positive and did not take attention away from the event Nor did it force a long winded opinion that would require an evaluation from the Princess. Please stop the negativity, it looks like you take offense to anything.

  • Meghan was smart to foresee the danger her life and Harry was in if she stayed in England. Meghan saw the writing on the wall and used her natural born instinct to get her and Harry out of the England. Y’all picking with old photos. Very few of you people seem concerned about what is really going on with Kate!

  • How rude is she. She has always been jealous of the beautiful Princess of Wales. This has never changed and never will because the Prince and Princess of Wales are our future King and Queen. The Princess of Wales is far more regal, she has class, manners, and she is very committed to the RF and country. In addition to this the beautiful Princess of Wales is also the amazing mum of Prince George who will also be King one day. She is also very beautiful, kind, caring, and has loyal qualities that MM will never be or have. MM must have thought when she married Harry she would be equal to the Princess of Wales, even though she had only been in the family 5 minutes and she wanted to do everything her own way and not behave as expected as a member of the RF. She was also married to Harry and not Prince William. How on earth Harry as never been able to see through his wife’s behaviours and allowed her to continue to disrespect him and his family is beyond belief. They both deserve each other. Its called karma.

  • Americans don’t have as much of a formal reserved public persona, particularly Americans who aren’t from the east coast,as the British. Meghan’s from California and speaks to them in an overly familiar manner, which they interpret as rude. Meghan probably interpreted their stiffness as rude as well. It’s obviously not a good fit.

  • Please stop this vile p.r. on behalf of the Royal Family. It’s unbecoming and ungracious by the Royal Family 😢. Very unchristian 😔. Encouraging enmity and division is unworthy of those who should be exhibiting ways to maintain a loving embrace of their family members in spite of differences of opinions. King Charles should set the tone and let the media know that he does not condone these negative attacks on members of his family…ALL HIS FAMILY 🕊️🕯️. Let’s pray for repair and restoration for all families caught up in unhappy disagreements 🙏🕎❤️

  • I’m by no means whatsoever a Harkle Fan. I find Meghan’s attitude and behavior absolutely disgusting; especially when it came to Kate and 3 year-old Princess Charlotte; with that being said, i don’t know how her tone was when she responded to Kate’s question, but her answer is the typical kind you would get from pretty much any American. We kind of have a dull sense of humor.

  • She’s never understood what was expected of her as a member of the royal family thought it was acceptable to mock and dismiss traditions and how her disregard of the many ceremonial roles and charities would be received. Seriously underestimated how she would be judged unfavorably by not just the Royal family but citizens of the United Kingdom and ultimately the world

  • I’m sorry, but I really can’t understand how anyone can still excuse the behavior by the Harkles any longer. I remember when Meghan first arrived on the scene, she looked gorgeous there. People DID like her and almost of the press was positive. I always ask people to link me to articles where the UK press either subtly or openly criticizes Meghan because she’s “black” (even though she never identified as black, had black friends growing up as well as in her adult years leading up to Harry, even though no one on Suits even knew she was biracial until she’d married Harry and suggested an episode where she reunites with her black father for S6 or 7, even though her white father raised her and paid for her to be where she is today and she never saw her black mother – apparently Doria wasn’t quite ready to be a full time mother or to settle with a family and was involved in Meghan’s life only very sporadically – she still snubs her father and basically uses Doria just so she can play the race card without even having to speak… it’s all despicable). People never can, though. There was ONE article I remember from a super trashy tabloid that WAS racist and it was right after they’d gotten engaged I believe. The one that said “Harry’s new girlfriend: Straight Outta Compton?” and yeah, it was really repulsive. But I remember the reactions of the public and the rest of the media at the time it came out … and pretty much EVERYONE was appalled by it and criticized the tabloid for going so low (except for the usual handful of trolls you see everywhere).

  • Meghan would be dismissive of any event where she is not the centre of attention, and obviously she was disrespectful of the family even before there was talk of her and Harry leaving. I think this was her objective from the start – gain the elevated position, but leave when the expectation of working for the lifestyle and notoriety overtaxed her limited desire to participate in the charitable (and unpaid) public events

  • I really wish people would stop going on about colour and race. Meghan is not dark. She is olive. When asked about what colour skin Archie would have, I would think it would have been because the Brits are so pasty and white. I will be great to have a nice tan in the family. Meghan has proven to be deceitful when she said she had no idea who Harry was and about Princess Di. She wanted to be a princess. She didn’t realise what it really entailed. I just hope they go back to London, mend fences and move on. It’s not easy to join any family.
