It is important to ensure the fields and pastures are car and wheel friendly for elderly guests and others being transported to the venue. There are various outfit options for men, including formal gowns, velvet pantsuits, and pleated jumpsuits. Winter wedding outfits can include a long tweed skirt, cashmere sweater, and a great pump. Black tie attire should be left at home for barn weddings, and shorter mini or midi length dresses with low block heels are recommended. Fall wedding guest attire is typically associated with jewel tones and rich fabrics like silk and wool. The bride must decide between heels or cowgirl boots. Men’s casual attire can be chiffon, colorful solids, or floral fall prints. A pair of heels or elegant flats will complete the ensemble and ensure a night of dancing in style.

Great article! Regarding barn weddings, take a pair of non-slip flats. Many barn weddings have gravel or fine dirt walkways and parking lots, and I’ve seen many women ruin a great pair of shoes walking to the venue. I agree, barn weddings range from formal to down home country, so if you’re unsure how to dress, ask.
Hi Angie! Love your website. Thanks for putting in all the leg work and research for those, like me, who don’t lol. I have to say I’ve just started subscribing to websites and yours is one of my favorites. I’m 43 and also just starting to look for skin care routines and love that you put a lot of research into yours. Thanks again! – Angie H.
Our daughter had a barn wedding. Hers was in a traditional “real” barn at a farm. Some I’ve seen recently are more modern barn looking venues. Due to our venue being more rustic we could not wear heels (comfortably anyway). Everyone kinda wore whatever they wanted. Women in dressy dresses and casual dresses. Men in suits, jeans and cowboy like attire. The wedding party, myself and most all the women wore flat embellished sandals. We found those most practical.
As always Angie girl, your fashion articles are EVERYTHING ! I absolutely LOVE all the outfits, but one of my favs is the white blouse with the wrap belt that ties in a bow, and the high low dress is stunning on you. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this article together, you think of everything, even the accessories……..BRAVO !…….wishing you well, take care XO
OMG‼️ Angie, I am in LOVE w/ every outfit you modeled. That yellow flowered dress was just STUNNING‼️ & that white wrap top, so chic & elegant. Really, I WANT them ALL‼️ May I say, your skin is just glowing. I mean, you always look great, but there’s just a ‘lil something extra going on. What’s the secret⁉️ a new product, extra sleep, a ‘lil (dare I say it!) “nookey” lol! I knew you were in great shape, but, WOW‼️ your body looks just AMAZING in that beautiful aqua bathing suit you modeled. A 20 something young women would envy your figure. Thanks for another great look book!
Love your look books, even though I spend more money. Ha Ha. At 68 I don’t want to look old and frumpy and I’m happy to see some of your items come in Petite sizes for us shorter gals. I ordered white linen pants and the V neck peplum in yellow. Will get it in time for a 4th of July party. Thanks again Angie. I am obsessed with your website, being on the west coast every Tuesday and Friday I am in front of my computer with coffee in my pj’s perusal you.
Fantastic clothes, shoes, handbags, and jewelry!!! I don’t even know where to start they’re all so perfect. The yellow dress is just gorgeous so whispy and fresh, it tops the list. I keep thinking of the white skirt with nautical buttons, perfect black pants (always) and those deep red low heeled Calvin’s really stuck out. Of course, the sexy black bathing suit, I’m so happy seeing something so trending yet appropriate. And honestly, you look stunning. The white coverup, so delicate and pretty. All the shoes, OMG those Nike’s are insane I love them! I’ve been doing that with a few casual dresses (a thick t-shirt material), it’s a bit awkward at first but you get past it fast. And that blue v-neck I just adore it’s that mixture of casual but special. Thanks again! I’d LOVE to see one of these every month?? xo
I always love the clothes, shoes & accessories you chose. My first problem is that I wear a AAA in sandals which is very hard to find. Your body is in great shape and mine isn’t so slim, but I am working on it. You have given me great ideas on what to chose, and I love any white pants in the summer!😍
They all looked so great on you! I would love some ideas for traveling clothes. Things to wear on the plane and clothes that pack well and can be worn in multi ways. Also shoes for walking around. I’ll be in Italy in sept and so many cobblestone streets. I need to find cute and comfortable shoes. Any comfortable sandal suggestions?
Fabulous collection. Every single look fit you perfectly! You always pick at least one stellar piece and for me that high neck yellow dress with you in it, was it! The pairing with those nude heels was just the right choice. Flowy hem in front was so feminine. Ah, Catherine did pop in to see if you needed any help…with zippers. Just saying. Great summer look book! Happy second day of summer ya’ll! ; )
Angie, as usual another great article. You look so amazing in everything. I love how even as a plus – size girl, I can still find inspiration to make things “my own.” I am TOTALLY copying a couple of your looks. LOL I have those same Vince C. black ankle pants that I am going to pair with my new black cami and jean jacket when I go on vaca next month. Then I can switch it up with my sleeveless white cotton blouse & wrap sash. That wedding outfit was so beautiful on you too. Lastly, though I’m NOT doing the swimsuits, I have similar white cover-ups that I’ll just pair with my white linen pants and Panama hat for a casual outfit. Wow, thanks for the suggestions. Now, I can add these to my packing list. ( Just might have to jet over to Nordstrom’s tomorrow for a straw handbag… haha). TFS 😀
Hi Angie, I love your lookbook suggestions and your website. Do you have suggestions for finding similar options for those of us not in the standard size range? I am several inches taller and most stores tall sizes are not long enough in sleeves, skirts, shorts and pants..sometimes dress and blouse length as well? It has always been frustrating, now especially when you add in the “trying to be age appropriate” factor? Hoping you have a taller friend or subscriber that can give me some suggestions? Thank you so much for your website! You are truly giving answers and suggestions to questions all women will likely have!
Hi Angie, I really love the yellow dress on you. I love the color yellow with flowers but that color makes me look sickly (sadly). I also adore your straw bag. I have a few straw bags and I absolutely love them. It reminds me of retro days in Miami. Lastly, you look AMAZING In your bathing suit. Great color and you are rocking it girl. PS. Having lived and spent many years in Palm beach on the beaches/pools….woman there wear jewelry with their bathing suits. Yep, gold necklaces with diamonds, earrings, rings and bracelets. Me, not so much, I attracted a shark once and that was too much. Sharks like shiny things. 🦈
WOW! You look absolutely stunning and you did a great job modelling all of those outfits. I especially liked the way the yellow dress looked on you. The hat and sunglasses looked great on you too. I’m actually surprised that you’re over 50 since you look so youthful, my initial guess for your age was 32.
There’s one thing I think you’re missing, Angie, and that is the fact that many women of a certain age are not comfortable revealing their upper arms. I know I’m not alone in saying I’d never even consider much of this lookbook for that reason alone. But, boy, do I love your beauty related articles. Huge fan!
No where exotic… hahaha to West Virginia to visit my family and then on to Cincinnati, Ohio for our family reunion. ( I am trying to tone it down a bit . Everybody calls me the ” diva ” but as you know…we just like looking cute and pulled together at all times…lol). I went to the nail salon yesterday and don’t know how in the world I ended up in the middle of Belk’s amazing clearance sale and bought some more items. I even am turning my poor little niece into a fashionista..lol ( am mailing her some things too).
I weigh 155 and have thin legs too. I’m 5/5. Do you ever get from ppl your legs are so thin. I hate that. If you do can you tell me how you handle that. My thighs are 22 are yours thinner or the same. Luv you Angie. You look so confident. I want to be like that. When I was younger I was always called chicken legs. What size are your calves mine are 13 wider part. I still see myself really thin.
