For example, to measure your bust, waist, and hips, start with undergarments and keep them level. For wedding dresses, choose sizes petite or long/tall if the size label doesn’t specify anything else.
Before scheduling a bridal appointment or ordering your dress, it’s important to know that wedding dress size charts will vary based on country, designer, and silhouette. Dress length is standard or regular if the size label doesn’t say anything else. For women with body height between 53 and 510, standard/regular length is the right choice.

This is a start because I done sewing in 9th grade back in the 80’s. Now in retail it keeps hunting me because I need to learn to cut for customers. This article helps me out. So, now I’m aware if a customer asks for a 40 inch. I would measure 20 inch twice and while it’s double fold then I cut fabric together but now I need to learn how do I price it for the register. Thank you for helping this 58 yr old
everyone who is totally freaking out, saying “why is everyone and hourglass, now?”- it’s okay! simply judging by the profile pictures or names (as in names like Hellokitty345) most of these people are under 18 or even under 13! your body isn’t fully developed when you are under 18, they may not be a natural hourglass. when you hit puberty your body usually changes, these people could possibly not even have hit puberty- don’t stress because you don’t feel like you fit in, YOU ARE PERFRCT!
Thank you so much for this! It was very informative I always thought I was an hourglass, but realize I am a triangle. This explains why, back in the good old 1980s, I looked fantastic wearing shoulder pads! It turned my triangle into an hourglass. So cool! I’m excited to see where my beautification journey goes when I have an amazing resource like you available!
I actually like formulas! Here they are as you laid them out: Inverted triangle: Shoulders = hips + 2 or more inches OR Bust= hips + 4 or more inches. Triangle: hips = shoulders + 2 or more inches OR hips = bust + 4 or more inches. (Fun sidenote: triangle is the MOST COMMON BODY TYPE AMONG WOMEN.) Circle: waist is greater than shoulder, bust, or hip by 2 or more inches. Rectangle: Shoulders, bust, waist and hips are essentially the same size. Specifically, the waist is NOT 8 inches smaller than any of the other measurements. Hourglass: Shoulders, bust, and hips are essentially the same size and the waist is 8 inches smaller than any of the other measurements. -Tall, petite (5’4″ or shorter), and plus sizes have no impact on these body shapes.- Long or short waisted: place hands stacked below center of your bust. If the bottom hand covers your belly button, you’re short waisted. If the bottom hand reaches but doesn’t cover your belly button, you’re considered proportionate. If there’s space from the bottom hand to your belly button, you’re long waisted. Thanks @busbee style for doing this article!
Thank you so much for this article Erin! My entire life I thought that my body was pear-shaped since my family members are all pears but after talking your test I realised that I was actually hourglass-shaped. Thank you again! ❤ I’m a teenager and my measurements are : Hips : 92 cm, Bust : 98 cm, Waist : 72 cm, Shoulders : 92 cm.
After months of hearing you mention how important it is to know your measurements, I finally got out a tape measure and did it!! Also, it was very interesting putting those numbers on paper and realizing I’m too hard on myself. I always focus on how wide my hips seem when in actuality they are proportionate to my upper body. We are all unique shapes and I love how you empower us as women to dress confidently!
Thank you Beautiful Erin! I love you and your tips! I have been in the same profession for years and you are spot on! Plus I like to learn more about styling and you are my go to for my theory that I don’t know it all! Erin in this case I turn to you to learn! Fabulous and I love you and your authentic self. We have many common traits with depression etc. I am so proud of you and what you are doing! Keep up the hard work! Keep inspiring me and so many other women!
Hi Erin love this series thank you. I work with women determining their body shapes also and I think there is confusion with the measurement of including the shoulders. The old way we just used the bust, waist and hips which was so much easier and straight forward. When we include the shoulders there is another element and could put you into 2 categories instead of 1. I do consider both aspects. These articles definitely are helpful to many. hugs xx Jackie
I love this article! So clear and helpful. I’m a petite, short-waisted, hour glass and it seems like any top that is not stretchy looks like it’s too big for me. Even with petite cuts, the obvious waistline of a fitted top falls below my very obvious waistline. Since I’m short, anything not fitted makes me look shorter, and boxy. Looking right now to see your tips for my body type!
Hi Erin! I took my measurements after perusal this article and turns out i fall under the hourglass category. I always thought i was more rectangle. Plus i am long waisted. I have no idea why I thought I was short waisted. I love your website. The articles are very helpful and i love your personality!. I love knowing that I can be in my 40s and still look amazing! Thank you!
Finally! The best info on body shape and waists. I knew I was a rectangle! But haven’t seen anyone else ever be able to give advice about how to dress it until today. Also learning I’m long waisted but average height explains a lot about why clothes are so confusing. But not anymore!!! Thank you Erin for being able to explain all this in such a professional way. You are WONDERFUL!
Thanks for this article! This whole time I thought I was an inverted triangle. I wasn’t taking into consideration my shoulders just my bust, waist and hip measurements. My shoulders and hips are exactly the same measurement which was a huge eye opener for me. I am definitely an hourglass. Thanks again, Erin!
Thank you for this! I always debated whether or not I was truly an hourglass because my lower half isn’t much bigger than my shoulders and I didn’t know how small ones waist needed to be to fit into hourglass. This has really helped me figure out the clothing that styles nicely for my body type too, so thank you! I’m 15 and my measurements are S: 36″ B: 32″ W: 22″ H: 38.5″ 😊
Thank you!! I am a short waisted rectangle!!!!! I always have known about the short waisted. I was about 20? and was told at a bridesmaid fitting. I am 60 ( that just happened still adjusting) now and I remember my Mom buying 1/2 size clothes . She would buy size 12 1/2 dresses which would be maybe an 8 now? Sizes were much smaller then.
I’m an hourglass – 35-25-37 – and very long waisted. The most life changing thing I’ve recently learned about my body type is the long waisted part. I feel like we all learn if we are an hourglass, triangle, etc. but no one talks about the waist part, and that seems to be what has helped me most in finding clothes that look good. Vertically I’m built like a penguin! It helps explain why I always feel I need to wear heels to look good and why I look so bad in low rise pants.
Thanks Erin! I always assumed you measured the bust, waist and hips to determine body type so always thought I was pear (inverted triangle) shaped. But based on these measurements, I am actually hour glass – which made sense because that is what the mirror was telling me when I have clothes on. It was always confusing so thanks for clarification!
I thought I was an inverted triangle but I’m actually kinda between a triangle & rectangle but more rectangle than triangle. I’m also plus size, tall (I’m 5’9″), and long waisted. Wow! Thanks for this article. It was eye-opening for me & now a lot of what I buy & doesn’t fit, makes a lot of sense now. Again, thank you so much!
i knew it i’m an inverted triangle all along! Shoulder: 48.5 Bust: 44.5 Waist: 36.5 Hips: 40.5 last two years I have been gaining weight due to medical issues. so I have been lose my confidence that I used to have all these days but here i am trying to get myself up and what i want to do is finding something that look good on me first while getting myself healthy again. Picking up one by one pieces of my confidence back! Thank you for the great article!!!
Thank you so much for the helpful article ☺️ My measurements are S: 37″ B: 34″ (30d or 30dd) W: 24″ H: 37″ According to the google search it says that I’m an hourglass, but when I look in the mirror my shoulder is little more pronounced than my hip (inverted triangle-ish). I think my hip width is not that big but due to pronounced bottom, my hip measurement shows I have a big and wide hip… I’m so confused😖 I look best with body con dresses or anything that extenuates my curves (I look absolutely terrible with boxy clothing). As for tops, anything that is tight looks good (no ruffles and baggy clothes). And for the bottom, skinny jeans are my go to. Someone who knows about body shapes, please help me!! Thanks
Wow x3 was that the helpful!!! This is the info I didn’t know I needed!!! I’ve spent decades assuming I’m a triangle, proportionate waist. But according to my measurements 💡 I’m an hourglass with a very long waist! This is kind of life changing…🤔 My waist is a full 10 inches less than my hips and shoulders, which are the same! 🤔 That’s not what I look like in the mirror…
Interesting, I’m much closer to the hourglass category than I thought. My butt and shoulder measurements are nearly identical, my bust is about 4 inches less than both of those, and my waist is 7.5 inches less. I always though I was more triangle because my bust is the smallest part of me. Or possibly rectangle because my body looks fairly straight unless I’m wearing something fitted to my waist. This is kind of an ego booster. I’ll happy take “nearly hourglass” haha.
Helpful indeed lol I tend to see things as a comic strip in my head when I visualize and a overweight inverted triangle with three hands plus of a waist (looooong) it makes for a very stretched out triangle and to add insult to injury add long legs . Visualizing me balancing a bouncy triangle of unknown material it made me giggle and grinning realize: no wonder I have a hard time standing on my feet balancing all that . I have no problem laughing at all and everything including my self.
Rectangle here 🙋♀️. In the past I was always skinny as hell, so I didn’t have to worry much about waist definition. Now that I have completed menopause, the extra twenty pounds have made my shape so funny-looking. My ribcage is wide tho my breasts are small; try looking for a 38 b, nearly impossible to find. I forgo bras now. Thank you for this website 🙏. It’s easy to become apathetic, but you do feel better when you look better 💯
I hate that all of my fat goes to my thighs and calf, I think I’m pear shaped. I mean I look very skinny to people because I am flat chested. No matter how hard I do workout, the fat on my breast lose first. And the fat on my calves just sit tight there. And when I get fatter, the fat just comes to thighs and calves. Just no hope for bigger breast.
Omg thank you so much, I ALWAYS admired hourglass body and today I’m so shocked after ur info. I guess I’ve got an hourglass body with ten inches difference of my waist but I don’t know my bust is like four inches different from shoulder and hip measurements which are exactly same. So is it still considered ⏳?
omg thank you for this.. i really thought i was an apple shape, but now i realized i am actually an inverted triangle shape!! now it finally makes sense why everytime i look at the mirror, i get so frustrated about my shoulder being broader and making my lower body look like it shrank 😆😆 sorry for my English, but yeahh…thank you!!!
Do you know you’re great? Thanks for your time and nice presentation. I’ve never been preoccupied about body type, because mirror helped regarding what esthetical choices to make. However, there comes an age when you quite need or want to know these aspects. And there it is. I’m same as you are, just long waisted. Sending you love, take care!
Thanks for sharing these great tips! The measurements I took say I’m closest to an hourglass or pear, but similar to other commenters, I think I’m a rectangle. My butt is defined probably from lots of squats, but I have no curves otherwise. My measurements below! Curious to know your thoughts. Bust 33.5 Waist 28 Hip 38.5 Shoulder 38.5
hi! tysm i just realised i’m an hourglass! i always thought i was an inverted triangle i didn’t know my hips were actually the exact same measurements as my shoulders!! i was so shocked and confuse i checked like thrice haha here’s my measurements S: 33 B: 31 W: 23 H: 33 i’m just a teenager so i thought i wasn’t an hourglass because i haven’t fully developed yet, only recently did i realise bone structure affects it too lmao
Super helpful article, Erin!! I’ve always thought I was a Rectangle/Banana shape with a short torso, but according to the measurements it looks like I may actually be an Hourglass or Inverted Triangle with a proportionate torso.🤯For the Inverted Triangle, can your shoulders be larger than your hips, BUT your bust be the same as your hips? Measurements: shoulders 39″, bust 35″, waist 27″, and hips 35″. Thank you!
This is interesting. In sewing, I was taught the definition of “natural waist”as being the narrowest part between the underbust and the hips. If I use that definition, my body type is rectangle with a short waist. If I use your definition (measure around the belly button), my body type is circle with a long waist. 😅 How do I determine what works better..?
Erin I definitely need help with this. My torso is proportional 👍in length. My hips are only 1in larger than my shoulders and only 3in larger than my waist. However my bust is 7.5 inches larger than my waist. Am I a rectangle with a rack? A faux hourglass (until I finish losing weight) I’m trying to figure out how to dress the body I have right now. It’s pretty confusing. Any clue how you’d classify my current type?🤷♀️ When I was very fit. I was 34-26-34…I don’t recall ever measuring my shoulders. But they didn’t seem overly large. I also never felt like my waist looked nipped in. in measuring my hips my glutes played a role in the proportions. From the front I tend to look athletic like a mesomorph. Even out of shape. Any help you can offer I’d appreciate it. I really hate returning clothes and hope to find something flattering. Thank you 💕
Hi there, thanks for the clarity of this article! Curious, my type seems closest to hour glass, as my bust and hips are exactly the same measurement, alas my waist is not 8 inches smaller. It is 6 inches smaller, so what does that mean? Also I am short waisted. Oh but one possible reason for the tummy being bigger in my case is that I have diastasis recti (tummy muscle separation from having 4 kids), which adds extra inches makes me look still pregnant and drives me crazy lol. A long time ago my measurements were 36-28-36 haha
Hi, i was glad looking at your article. But i would certainly ask you a question as I was not clear about my body type according to the measurement provided above. My body measurements are shoulder 38, Bust 33.5, Tiny waist 28, Hip 36 and elongated waist. What category do i fall under? I hope you would answer this.
Thanks for the article… v helpful. If waist is like 9 ins smaller than shoulders and widest part of hips, you would consider hourglass? Should i combine hourglass and rectangle? My butt is not wide but fleshy at the back so in 2 dimension, i look a little bit inverted triangle…. so which body types clothing should i follow? Usually bodycon dresses shows a slight bump between navel and groin because the material usually pulls back to accommodate my bum and emphasizes my small tummy… even though i actually dont really have a tummy Thanks much for your help☺️…
I’m a bottom hourglass with shoulder-bust-waist-hips: 37-33-25-37. I used to think I was a pear. Wearing jeans is a challenge since they’re too loose on waist and too tight on hips/bum. My favorite outfits are high waist bootcut/straight/wideleg pants, waistcoat; bodycon/mermaid/sheath/circle dresses (for circle dress I like wearing it with belt), peplum tops. Cap sleeve is a no for me
I’m pretty sure I’m a triangular shape because every single time when the tailors wanna measure my hip my butts my thigh, their faces show confusion LOL as like they don’t believe that I have such huge measurement of my lower trunk when I usually could fit 1 to 2 sizes smaller than my lower trunk and thighs LMAO Thank you so much for your easy to understand guidance =D
I can’t tell super well whether I’m an hourglass or a rectangle. My shoulders, bust, and hips are all basically the same, but my waist is 7″ less than the other measurements. I think this means I’m a rectangle, but when I look at myself in the mirror I think I look like and hourglass. Either shape I wouldn’t mind, so I don’t think I’m just telling myself I’m an hourglass because I want to be one. Shoulders: 35.5″ Bust: 36″ Waist: 29″ Hip: 36″
I’ve had always thought my body shape is triangle (pear shape) because I used to think that the proportion of my upper body was a lot smaller than my lower body, but I just measured and it turned out that my shoulder (96 cm/37.75″) is no longer a lot smaller than my hips (100cm/39.875″).. my bust is 91 (91 cm/35.875″) and waist (76cm/30″).. i’m absolutely sure my body type is still pear (my thighs are the biggest part of my body) but I have a bit more balanced upper body now..
Im an hourglass with (in inches) Shoulders: 42″ Bust: 42″ Waist: 29″ (just under 29) Hips: 44″ Height: (in ft) 5’8 or 5’9) A lot of websites tell me im overweight (which might be true idk lol) but its nice to see that im not ‘ugly’ in a sense (if you know what I mean) I actually quite like the triangle body shape, so I wouldnt be sad if I had it as well Edit: Im looking at other peoples measurements and wow, I am not petite lol. My back is quite large which is why I have big measurements for those >< I wish I was more petite
I’m chuckling about finding where the natural waist nips in.. belly button maybe a little higher… and having recently put a few extra lbs on said to myself “hmm I wonder one of the belly rolls which nips in down my body I shall measure as something that was once my waist??!!!😂😂😂” No actually I can’t wait to measure all this with my body shaped different at 45 than 35 so I know what cuts and styles flatter this me.❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this article on body type. I thought i was an iverted triangle because i have no hips. I am really a rectangle because my hips are 1/2 inch different from my shoulders. My waist is only 51/2 inches different than my hips. I have come to the relization that i will never have an hour glass figure even though I have lost 60 pounds. I really liked the part on short or long waisted because I didnot know to figure this. I just knew i was long waisted because of the way the waist on some dresses fit. I also had trouble with one peice bathingsuits. Would you please do a article on bathingsuits for different figure types and figure flaws.
Hey, mommy. Could you please assist me too? 🥺🙏🏽 So my measurements according to the way you said we should measure are: 124/125 cm 120/121 cm 109/110/111 cm 119/120 cm It was really hard measuring 😭😭 hence I’m not sure of the exact measurements. Anyway, which category would you say I fall under? Also I have hip dips and a belly
37, 29.5, 26, 34 i do believe this would make me nearly rectangle as most of my measurements do not exceed 8 inches of my waist and while my shoulders surpass my hips, my bust doesn’t. and while my hips surpass my waist, they do not surpass my shoulders. also i think i’d be close to being long waisted, but mostly proportional. thanks for this 😀
Hey Erin! Lovely article! I still have a feeling I’m in-between shapes and I wanted someone to help me out! 1. I measured myself according to your guidance and realised that my shoulders are only an inch larger than my hips. (For an inverted triangle you said that the shoulders must be 2 or more inches bigger than the hips) 2. Additionally, there is a definite 8 inch difference between my waist and hips (the criteria you gave to rule out a rectangle body shape). 3. My torso (or waist length) is long (my belly button is way below my second hand), hence visually pulling out my potentially hourglass figure. My question is: Am I an inverted triangle, a rectangle or a long hourglass? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers! 😀
hello! my measurements are: shoulders: 91 cm bust: 83 cm waist: 66 cm hips: 93-94 cm on body type calculators, ive gotten results either pear, hourglass, or spoon. my shoulders, although having a smaller circumference than my hips, look broader. and i also have slight hip dips. do you know if im a pear or hourglass or something else? and is it possible to be a pear if shoulders look broader than the hips but do in fact have a lesser circumference? im still also kind of young, so my bust and the rest of my body isn’t very developed yet either.
I am confused, am I Triangle, Rectangle, or Hourglass? 42 shoulders, 44 Bust, 39 Waist, 47 Hips. It’s like I am not quite a Triangle, not quite a rectangle and not quite an Hourglass, so which dress guide should I try. My big busts are getting me down and so I want to take my wardrobe back to the right basics and start again, as it is currently styled for my pre-pregnancy body of around 7 years ago
So I have: 41.5 in shoulders 36.5 in bust 32.5 in underboob 30.5 in waist 36.5 in upper hip 41.7 in hips I think this would classify me as an hourglass, and I can clearly see my waist from any angle, but I have a long torso and short legs, which make me look top heavy My shoulders stick out about .5 in more than my hips on either side. So am I some kind of curvy inverted triangle?
Hey! I could really use your help with figuring out my shape. I understand that everyone’s body is different but, even so, I can’t seem to put my measurements in any of these categories without having to combine them with another. If you could, could you help me figure out my body shape? Here are my measurements v. And as always, much thanks to you and your articles, they have been of so much help to me to even grasp this concept. Shoulders: 37 1/2 Bust: 31 Waist: 25 Hips: 29 1/2
Hello! So my measurements are Shoulders= 94cm(37in) Bust=80.5cm(31,6in) Waist=62.5 cm(24.6in) Hips=85cm(33.4in) So I don’t know whether I am a rectangle or an inverted triangle, because I my body looks quite flat and like a door but my shoulders are wider than my hips, even though I don’t think it is that noticable. Also despite my measurement my waist doesn’t look narrow. Thank you in advance for your time and I am sorry to bother you
You really very explaining but I still have problems. For example my waist and hip. I think my hip starts really high cause the slimmer part of my waist is very high from my belly button and the widest part of hip is very low nearly endmof my hip. So I am not even sure if I made the right measuring. And even with that my measurements are weird. My Shoulders and hip is same. 100. But my bust is very far from them. 85. Yet my waist is way far with 70. These are not inchs but cms so I couldn’t get what should I think about my body.
I’m 22 and my measurements are 43-35-43 but I’m on my period and I’m bloated so I’ll be less puffy in a few days and I’ll come back and update but I consider myself an hour glass because I have a noticeable difference from my bust to waist to hips. I know modeling standards and celebrities have like crazy measurements like 15 inch difference from their waist to hips through surgery (some people have it naturally though) etc but for a woman that is overweight like me (I’m actually losing weight rapidly bc I’m not on meds anymore) I’m going to have more subtle measurements in the hourglass range. But I think people get caught up in body shape. I care more about how the clothes fit on me. I’m an hourglass because if I wear a T-shirt, I’m gonna look like spongebob. But if I wear a fitted long-sleeve shirt, you can see my shape more and if I wear a body suit I’m gonna look like a freaking Greek goddess lol. So yeah don’t get so worked up on body shape. Majority of the times I dress very subtle to not show off my shape because I don’t need men staring lol 😂
Funny thing I look like I am short waisted as most regular fitting dresses and some clothes are too long for me but the hands under the bust measure actually do not reach my belly button. This is an eye opener. I thought because of those issues I mentioned and the fact I have double scoliosis I felt and actually from behind my torso looks short. Oh well
My shoulders are 41 inches. I think thats pretty wide. Looking in the mirror I can see my shoulders quite a bit wider than my hips but I wouldnt say my hips are small because when I look at examples of a inverted triangle their hips are much smaller to a larger degree. I dont have much of a waist… if I did maybe I could pass as an hourglass but idk. I do like wearing oversized things on the top. I have this really big mens denim jacket which has fleece on the inside and its so warm (uk problems). Oversized clothes are a big trend but to try balance it out I try to show some skin so im not drowning in it like wearing a v neck or skirt. I get my wide shoulders from my mum and jokes she is an apple body shape but was an inverted triangle when she was younger.
Oki so even looked up this calculator thing I think I’m an inverted triangle bc of my shoulders but when I use my bust then I’m a pear/triangle type thing. I dunno if I measured as accurate but what do u think. My measurements are. Shoulders: 34 Bust:27 Waist:22 Hips:32 High hips:28 What do u think ik it may not be the most accurate but yeah thx u 💜
I always thought I was a triangle with large breasts, since I have a small ribcage (bra size 30 GG). But I had never measured my shoulders before. I did, and they’re about the same as my hips! So I am an hourglass. Even when I was my heaviest (I’ve lost weight recently, in a good way) my hips were only about 3″ bigger than my shoulders. I’m still a little short waisted though, and very short in the legs. I jokingly say my body type is “squashed Christine Hendricks”. Edited to add: I’m also 65. Past menopause my waist has thickened a bit, I’m still an hourglass but not as extreme as I once was. Body shape is genetic, weight and exercise and age can change it somewhat, but not to extreme amounts.
Shoulders: 38.5″ Bust: 31″ Waist: 23″ (Proportional waist) Hips: 33.5″ So my body itself looks like an hourglass but unfortunately my very broad shoulders kinda make me look like an inverted triangle so everytime I dress for an hourglass body my shoulders ruin the look because the sleeves may be too short and are riding up my shoulders so it gives me more of an inverted triangle look. I’m so confused on how to dress because hardly anything looks good when my shoulders show.
I fit into the hourglass body shape. I’ve not thought of myself in that way. I was perplexed when “curvy” jeans fit me so well. I guess I know why, now. But I can see if I gained weight, I’d be more rectangle, I think. The hourglass in the article likes high waisted jeans, but they don’t go clear up to her waist because she’s tall AND long waisted. She doesn’t like low waisted because of muffin top. I’m the opposite. Hate high waisted because my abdomen grows during the day, so they get uncomfortable by the end of the day, unless the waist is too big to begin with. I have some high waisted with waists that are too big, so they’re comfortable and look good. But I prefer mid-rise. I don’t have muffin top if the jeans fit. I do agree w/the article that for hourglass, that straight, close fitting jean is more flattering than a skinny jean. Speaking of which…doesn’t anyone in these articles buy/wear jeans that cost less than $200? I can’t afford that.
So, naturally… I have saddle bags genetically (even when I’m super lean). Technically, my saddlebags are at the bottom of my hips, but I’m assuming you meant the widest area of the upper portion of my hips. I’m like 5″ wider on the lower half than the top. My booty shape = / \\ …with dips (: Any twins out here? Shoulder: 37-37.5″ Bust: 33″ Natural Waist: 28″ Hips (above hipdip, lol): 35.5″ Hips (below hipdip): 40″ Surprisingly… my torso is proportionate… thought it would be long because I’m 5’6″
So i mesured in cm and those are the results : 100cm (39.4 inches) for the shoulders, 93 cm (36,6 inches) for the breast, 74cm (29,1 inches) for the waist and 96cm (37,8 inches) for the hips. It means inverted triangle right ? or is it hourglass since my shoulders/breast/hips are really close and by waist is 9 inches smaller ? Also learnt i’m long waisted ! Thanks so much for this article it’s really well explained !
Thank you so much Aaron but I did find it a little bit confusing. If I understood you correctly, the waist of a rectangle will not be eight inches less than the shoulder and bust which is true for me. I’m around 1 inch and 1.5 smaller in the waist. Then you said that the triangle shape, the hips will be 2 inches or more than the shoulders and more than 4 inches of the bust which is also true. I’m 4 inches and 4.5 inches wider in the hips. Hmm…so now I’m not sure which shape I am?
So I I screached on Google what inverted triangle means and it includes little to no waist what it means ? I measured my waist like you you did at the end of the article, i have long waist. So now do I have little no waist or long waist? This very confusing 😀 My body measurement ( I hope I measured it correctly 😭😭) Shoulder- 40 Brust – 35 waist – 30 Hip – 37 According to the article based on what I understood I have inverted tringle body shape . Correct me if I am wrong pls 🥺🥺🥺 And thank you sm for this article. I got know a lot of new infos ♡♡♡
I dont know if i did It in the right way and i think i have a rektangel or hour glass type i think Shoulder- 104,9 / 41,4 Bust- 88,9 / 30,6 Belly botton- 83,5 / 33,5 Hips- 88,1 / 34,7 or 75,4/29,7 not sure which part so i do/did it again If you think its rektangel or hourglass pleas Tell me and comment down
Am I an inverted triangle if my shoulders are 38, waist measures 28 1/8, breasts are 35, and hips are 37. When I look in the mirror, my shoulder definitely look a lot wider than everything else, but not sure if I measured correctly somehow. I did my best to measure several times and follow your article.
I THINK I’m leaning more hourglass but I’m also a little bit rectangular? So my should and bust measurement are the same at 47in. My hips are 50in. and my waist is 41in. So I would be a cross between the hourglass and rectangle right? Lol oh man…. Send help! When I gain weight it goes to my chest and my hips the most, and of course my belly a little bit too. I’d say that I gain weight proportionally I guess. I’m definitely a thick woman. Oh also, I measured my torso with my hands and I’m proportionate there. My second hand landed at the top of my belly button. I don’t think I have long lengths either. How do we know if our legs would be considered long or short?
My measurements are Shoulders -41 Bust-33 Waist-28 Hips -36 Idk my bust is smaller than my hips but my shoulders are crazy large. Idk if its cuz I have small breasts or what lol. The bust should be 4 inches bigger and the shoulders only 2 but damn son! My shoulders are wild. I am guessing im a flat chested inverted triangle? Not sure if shoulder width are related to height at all because im also short so.
