📹 Full Speech: King Charles III Gives First Address After Death Of Queen Elizabeth II
King Charles III made his first public address from Buckingham Palace as British monarch following the death of Queen Elizabeth …
Watching from Germany to get the original audio. I’m in my thirties, the Queen was a constant presence in my life and one of the few public figures I actually respected. She was steadfast in her beliefs but not stubborn. She didn’t resist change, she didn’t advocate for change, she accompanied, guided and molded it. As a German, even though my parents themselves were still children back then, I’m grateful for her visit to our nation in 1967 and the hand of friendship and forgiveness she extended to us back then. Let us all learn from her example.
This was an amazing speech. It felt honest and humble, something as an American, I am not accustomed to. For the almost 5 decades I have lived, Elizabeth had been Queen. Throughout this 5 decades, I have seen nothing but compassion, love, understanding and grace from her. She had been inspiring for me and I am sure, many others around the world. Even though I am American, I have kind of always seen her as Queen of and around the world, that’s how much she has touched people’s lives. King Charles has a lot on his shoulders right now, I couldn’t imagine, but his speech was so heartfelt and comforting, again as an American, I am not accustomed to. I will keep the family in my prayers, as well as the people of such an amazing place.
I’m Canadian and it is a true story to tell future generations. I remember perusal this live, in my living room with my family, and thinking, “I just witnessed the passing of the longest reining monarch, witnessing the rise of a new King, and might even see another monarch come to throne after.” It truly is an amazing privilege to see the Royal family grow and progress even in the modern age as the New Elizabethan Era came to a close. God save the Queen! Long live the King!
What a touching beautifully worded and executed tribute his voice, tone and even his expressions come of with tenderness and absolute sincerity, it shows the King as a vulnerable mere mortal yet with resounding strength and stoicism traits he undoubtedly inherited from his dear mother the Queen. he is a befitting extension of her Majesty legacy. Long live the King!!!!
😢Well said, Sir. It’s never easy to say goodbye to those we love so very much. Having lost my own mother to breast cancer over 40 years ago, there isn’t a day that goes by when I think of her. Most times I smile and sometimes I get teary eyed. May you and yours hold on to one another closely through the coming days ❤️.
I understand His Majesty King Charles, as I also lost my dad a little more than a year ago. I cannot imagine the pain he is feeling right now, having lost his parents in such short succession. Regardless of one’s social status, if your parents were good, you feel the pain intensely when they die. My heart goes out to you, King Charles III. May God strengthen and console you. Long live the King! God save the King!
As a citizen of the USA who normally couldn’t care less about the activities of the Royal Family, I have to say God Bless the Queen. She served the United Kingdom and commonwealth faithfully as the longest reigning Monarch in the history of the Royal Family . God Bless and guide the new King Charles III, that he may lead the United Kingdom and commonwealth forward in a post covid tumultuous world, and God Bless the peoples of the United Kingdom that they may see a long and prosperous future.
I’m not gonna lie, that last part of the speech that King Charles spot about his mum and father, that got me hard with the tears. But glad now that the Queen is in a better place and that she can watch over the world that she fought for over the past 70 years she was in. Blessed to the family of the queen and sorry for your lost along with the rest of the British community.
Y’all thank you so much. This is gonna sound weird but thank you guys in the comments for having just such good comments. None of y’all are bashing Charles and none of y’all are being disrespectful. That’s hard to find on YouTube these days. I’ve always loved Queen Elizabeth ever since I can remember and I live in the south too so I can’t even imagine the pain that this family is going through right now. I think it’s only fair to give Charles the chance to be a great king and this address is a great start. Rest In Peace Elizabeth 🕊and Long Live the King 👑
These comments literally made me cry, and I don’t care who knows it. What an exquisite commentary. I never know Charles was such a warm speaker. I’m deeply touched, but I’m also inspired to be a person who has a capacity (as he does) to speak so meaningful and warmly regarding the things that I know and care.
She was an icon, a remarkable woman!! I think of the family, they lost their mom and their grandmother. But it was a very long, wonderful life as far as we know. You could clearly see he was emotional, very good speech. I hope he does hang on to tradition, it is so important with what is happening in the world right now. I’m old enough to remember him as that eligible bachelor! And I stayed glued to the tv when he married Diana. I’m an American but they have still been a part of our lives for a long time. I hope it continues and I hope the people support him and accept him and move in in a positive way! No matter what you think of he monarchy, the older I get the more I see how important it is to have some type of traditions to hang onto. And he will probably modernize some things but hopefully in a good way.
I am heartbroken over the loss of a mother who was not mine. My heart breaks for this beautiful family who deserves nothing but our utmost love and support. I pray, King Charles, that your heart heals soon and that your legacy will be great. Thank you, Sir, for sharing not only your precious mother, but also your life with us. May we endeavor to deserve it.
His Majesty spoke with great kindness, commitment, compassion and love to us all. He moved me to tears of joy and gave me great comfort in him being my soveriegn, but also tears of great sadness at the passing of His mother and our much loved Queen. The pain in his eyes said all. I make a solomn pledge to be a faithfull and loyal subject to His Majesty. God bless King Charles lll.
I’m sorry for your loss King Charles the III it’s never easy losing your parents I pray that your family has all the love and support that you all may need in order to cope with the loss of your mother and the nations Queen. May she rest peacefully in heaven with the angle’s above providing protection along her final journey home to her eternal resting place…..
God Save the King & Love Live the King! It is heartbreaking to lose your Mum, (covid took mine in 2020), but to lose a world figure like Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is devastating. I am glad that King Charles III will carry on the legacy established by his beloved Mother. God Bless the Royal Family!
The new king even sounds magisterial, speaking in his deeply sonorous, resonating voice. Amazing how he is able to offer words of comfort and solace to so many others grieving the death of Queen Elizabeth II, while in the midst of sorrowing the deeply personal loss of the Sovereign who was his own mother. 💔 God bless & save the new monarch, King Charles III.
70 years of being the meaning of class!!! Rip 👑. You look up classy lady 1 million percent in the dictionary you’d see a picture 🖼️ of her smiling ☺️ back at you! He performed his speech with a lot of feeling and she was the real deal! The world 🌎 lost a beautiful soul..but we’ll never forget her ….rip the real deal queen 👑
I love her always..she is seen as a lady with grace and wisdom…loving and showed ppl how to act proper and to believe in your visions and be brave to help Even if others are not understanding that we gotta find the way to succeed and reaching towards doing the righteous thing and keeping true to our morals and boundaries for the good of the ppl. God Bless the Grieving Royal Family. Life is memories of shared time…and she gave us a real lesson on how to work hard…deal with the pros and cons of her life…. And make it look so delicate and powerful, while never forgetting she was a Lady of our times that didnt show her struggles…..a fierce fighter she did it with elegance and courage. Head held high and very loved by many millions of people who will miss her Majesty’s awe inspiring presences….I love you Always, the best Queen of all times..
What an amazing speech. I’ve never heard Charles speak. It’s amazing to think of all the royalty that runs through his blood. He, indeed, sounds royal. What a beautifully, well-spoken tribute to a very special human being. My sincerest condolences to the Royal family, the countries she served, and those who’ve been affected by her passing. 🙏🏼❤️
That was an excellent speech. He hit all the right notes and it’s good that he didn’t wait and make William and Catherine Prince and Princess of Wales. When they attend Earthshot at the end of the year, they can be introduced like that. Obviously he had to say something about Harry, even with the pain he’s caused. And it’s made it clear to the UK public that Harry won’t be coming back and that his life is now outside of the UK. The British public must have cheered at that.
I was moved by his inspirational speech and I’m sure he will make a Great King. Queen Elizabeth was loved, and respected by so many all over the world, so she will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace with her husband Phillip and may God bless us all. As the new King Charles III said to his mother Queen Elizabeth, Thank You!🙏
With all my heart I will miss Queen Elizabeth the second. I will never forget seeing her as a boy up close. I marveled at her gracious demeanor and ever since then have always respected her. I am saddened by her death and give my sincere condolences to her family. Sleep well beautiful Queen until the morning rise of resurrection, shall we see you again…
A grand speech! The world needs this magnitude of eloquence and profound speech that resonates humility and humanity to each and all. The words he utters, hypnotizes us all, we all can sense the purity, loyalty, gratitude and union. Simply touches us all. Long live the King! Well done, well done……
Superb recognition of Queen Elizabeth’s life and legacy. Hopefully Charles will be able to honor and continue building the same trust and confidence with his life that Queen Elizabeth did with hers. Even though the actual political power is limited compared to past definition of monarchy (which isn’t a bad thing) there’s still significant social influence and imaging that the monarchy carries, including into the area of law and policy. May God guide him and his family to serve honorably, fairly and well, and to take strong measures where sometimes required, be it inside or outside the royal family.
Well done, well done, my good and faithful one. The Queen was a remarkable woman, her faith she needs no more. Grace shines on her now and she will forever know peace. King Charles III, from an American may God bless your service to your people. My deepest sympathy to all her family. Today instead of the words God Save the Queen, you can rest assured that indeed, God Saved the Queen and she rests in his sleep.
OK I gotta tell you that I have fallen a little bit in love with Prince Charles in the last year. I think Camilla has lightened his load and given him joy in his heart. I think it shows with his Interactions with the people. He may have fallen a bit as a father but he seems to have become a wonderful grandfather.. Quite honestly I wish we got to do the grandparenting thing 1st. Lol. I think His Majesty and the Queen Consort will be a wonderful representation of the future of the monarchy.
Charles will be a great king Sending you all, my cousins so much ♥️ from across the pond. The queen her Royal Majesty was LOVED all over the world 🌎 I’m praying for all especially her family, friends & her country. I’m American but have cried since yesterday she DID EXACTLY what she said she would from the moment she was crowned. She WAS THE Worlds Queen Hugs from Tennessee
He did a good job presenting the address created. Roles will shift and William will receive more training in the coming years to carry the gauntlet. Charles never had that filter his mother mastered but in her time, he did learn other avenues available to motivate good change. I hope he does well for his people. RIP HRH. Job well done.
The mourning of a mother who is mourned in the whole world is a very difficult thing. More so when one has to try and fit into her shoes rather immediately. Very difficult grieving in such circumstances. We are all different but our achievements and characters define us. The Queen achieved above and beyond her character and personality goes far and beyond for ever more. Sincere condolence
It’s hard for me to respect him because he is an alcoholic but when he spoke he reminded me of his mother. So I pray that he will not let the monarchy down his country or the other states that he will now rule over I pray for them that he will do a good job just like his mother did rest in peace Queen Elizabeth II and may God save the King long live King Charles
Hearing him pledge makes me so uninterested. She’s gone now that guy is a generic nothing filling in the shoes. Nobody is going to hold him at beloved. He’s not likeable, he’s not trust worthy, his wife is gag and I believe he will be the brick that takes down the monarchy. They should have figured out, how to make her live forever. This is going to be bad.
I know he probably didn’t write the speech but of course gave input . Regardless, he delivered it so well. Public speaking 101 with the pauses at the right moment, clear speech, eye contact, drawing in all with inclusive terms. Good luck to the new king, and condolences to our friends and Allies across the pond and around the world.
Almost forty years ago, in Colchester, I was shopping with my 6 year old son on the High Street when a small motorcade of cars. flying royal standards, carrying Duke of Edinburgh was passing through to some ceremony in town. As Prince Philip drove by, he waved to the crowd that assembled on the pavement, my son and I included. After the car had passed, I asked my son, “Who was that?”. He replied, “The Duke, the Queen’s husband” Prodding him, I asked, “What is The Queen?” He thought for a minute and said, “A lovely lady what cares for us all”. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
For him, right now, he is a son mourning the loss of his mother, roughly a year after losing his father. And yet, I feel down but a strange sense of comfort in this notion: Queen Elizabeth II lived a very full life, the longest monarch in history. She leaves behind a loving family, with her oldest son taking up the throne, and her grandson the heir apparent with his children following. And now she is reunited with Philip, may the both rest in peace. RIP Queen Elizabeth II. You lived a full life, loved by many, and you will be missed. Godspeed and farewell
this truly is an end of an era. im only a 17 year old guy who lives in Canada and it deeply saddens me that the Queen is dead. though her body was not immortal as we all thought her spirit is and i hope she has a safe journey to whatever great afterlife awaits her. my grandma was devestated by the Queen’s passing and my heart goes out to the generation who have lived so long with the Queen ruling especially those in England who she cared so deeply for. even here in Canada we are all mourning but im sure Britain must be devastated. may god finaly lay the Queen to rest, she has earned it after ruling for this long. long live Charles III the Charles trilogy is finally complete
Going to miss her smile and those wonderful colorful clothes she wore. I know how the family feels. Lost my mom october 2021….it is very hard losing a parent…especially your mother. May the queen rest in peace. I say this not because she was a queen….but because she was a mom, grandmother and great grandmother.
