I worked with a person just last year, who is transgender. I didn’t even know until He told me that he was born a woman. I thought this was a biological man. Our conversation started because I complimented His transition. Because I didn’t know. I didn’t want to offend him. But honestly I was impressed. Bcuz well, you can usually tell. Anyways. We ended up in a deep convo about it. And he opened up to me. And I learned that he was brought up in a cult-like religious family. And at 13 was forced to marry a man in his 40s that he thought was his uncle his whole life. Turned out, there’s no blood relation. So his parents allowed and forced this marriage. She was forced to move in with this man at 13 years old. Was abused and raped by him. Gave birth to 2 of his children. And when she turned 18 she escaped and had to abandon her children. She transitioned into a man because of her trauma. She is attracted to females now because she can’t stand the thought of being with a man. Her femininity was abused and taken for granted so she no longer could embrace being a woman. And decided she’d rather be a man and treat a woman the way a real man should. It’s a sad story but he is living his best life now and happier than ever. But it def teaches you not to judge people. I don’t judge people. But you have to wait for people to be comfortable enough to open up.
