What Submission Means In Marriage?

God’s Word, Ephesians 5:21, provides guidance on how to live our lives, and submission in marriage is a part of this relationshipal advice. The Hebrew word for submit is “hupotasso,” meaning “to place under” or “to place oneself under.” In marriage, submission is the defined calling of a wife to honor and yield to one another, rather than demanding their own way. It is a way for the wife to honor and support her husband as they both strive to follow God’s design for marriage.

Submission in marriage is not meant to be one-sided but rather a mutual submission where both spouses actively seek to serve and love one another. Both husband and wife are called to submit to one another, and submission must never be abuse. Both husband and wife reflect the image of God, and any disagreements or conflicts should be sought through God’s will and direction.

Submission points to the spiritual significance of marriage, as both the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are fully equal in the sense that all three are God. In an equally yoked marriage, both husband and wife share faith in God and are maturing in that faith equally. Submission means respecting your husband’s point of view, sharing your opinion with him, not invalidating him, and trusting his decision as a leader while feeling empowered to give your own point of view.

In summary, submission in marriage is a call for both husband and wife to honor and affirm their husband’s leadership, while also setting aside pride and seeking forgiveness from their spouse. It is a free choice for one party to another, and it is essential to follow God’s guidance and maintain a harmonious relationship in marriage.

What are the acts of submission in marriage?

A wife should support her husband. This can include encouraging him, helping with work, or just listening. A wife shows her love and respect for her husband by supporting him.

2. Husband: Listen to your wife. A husband can show submission by listening to his wife. Listening shows a husband values his wife’s opinions and wants to understand her perspective.

Wife: Respect your husband’s decisions. A wife can show submission by respecting her husband’s decisions, even if she disagrees. This doesn’t mean she can’t speak her mind or have no say. She should do so respectfully and trust her husband to make the best decisions for the family. It means she trusts her husband and follows his lead. Submitting to her husband’s authority and decisions shows love and respect.

What is submission to a man?

Submission means respecting your husband’s point of view. It means sharing your opinion with him. It means not making him look bad in front of others. It means trusting your husband as a leader and sharing your own thoughts. God is more important than your husband. But be careful if you think God’s will and your husband’s wishes are at odds. In a healthy marriage, respecting your husband’s wishes should align with God’s will. But there may be a rare occasion where your husband’s wishes conflict with God’s will. We should follow Christ. We respect and follow our husbands because God says we should.

What is submission marriage?

Marriage is about being selfless, serving your partner, being respectful, and having a mutual respect. It’s not about being controlled or losing your voice. The foundation of Christian marriage is love, not control. I’ll leave you with these words by Ravi Zacharias: “I, Isaac, Take Thee, Rebekah: Moving from Romance to Lasting Love” The reason we have a crisis in our gender relationships is that we want to be served, not serve. We want to be in charge. The Christian faith teaches that Jesus came to save people. The Son of Man served. He served us even when we didn’t deserve it.

“Love is tested in the most vulnerable areas of spirituality. It forces you to make difficult choices. It demands that you deal with your lust, greed, pride, power, desire to control, temper, patience, and every area of temptation. “It demands the quality of commitment that Jesus shows us.”

What makes a woman submit to a man?

A woman who trusts her husband to make decisions for the family is putting her trust in him. Providing and protecting the woman or family. Your opinion matters. If there’s a tough call, you trust him.

What is the message of submission in marriage?

Wives, submit to your husbands. The husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. The church submits to Christ, so wives should submit to their husbands.

“Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy. Husbands should love their wives as they love their bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. No one hates their own body. We care for it just as Christ cares for the church. We are members of his body. A man will leave his parents and be united with his wife. This is a deep secret: I’m talking about Christ and the church. “You must also love your wife as you love yourself, and she must respect you.” First, I believe submission in marriage is not a sign of weakness. Submission in marriage is a sign of strength, not weakness. It takes a lot of courage. Submission in marriage is respect. It helps her and her husband live a more peaceful life together. Husbands and wives disagree. If a woman respects her husband, she is more likely to resolve problems without conflict. This doesn’t mean the man always gets his way. Some people think submission is bad. In the Bible, submission in marriage is not about humiliation.

What is the difference between love and submission?

Loving someone means they’ll love you back. But it’s not guaranteed. The Oxford Dictionary says that submission is giving in to someone or something stronger. A happy marriage requires regular submission from both partners. No marriage will be happy if one spouse doesn’t love the other. A married person should take care of their spouse. If you’re waiting for your spouse to submit or love you first, you’re a puppy spouse! Couples who aren’t serious argue over who should submit or love first.

What does submission mean in a relationship?

Submission in a relationship is different. When partners submit to each other, it is out of respect, trust, care, concern, and more. Each partner wants their relationship to succeed. If you find a partner you can submit to and who can submit to you, you’ve found a keeper. After taking an intro to psychology course in college, I’ve never looked back. I’ve been specializing in adult relationship therapy since my doctoral program. I wrote several articles for professional journals and am currently writing a book.

What is an example of submission?

Submission is giving in to a stronger power. If you go to jail, the guards will make you submit. This word can also mean something you submit to someone else. If you write an article and send it to a magazine to see if they will publish it, it’s a submission. Good luck!

The act of giving in to another person’s power.

The act of obeying another person.

What is submission feelings?

Submissive means obeying or giving in to someone else. When you are submissive, you give up your own desires to please someone else. The Latin root of “submit” is “submittere,” which is formed by “sub-” and “mittere,” meaning “send.” What does it mean to be submissive? In animal packs, one animal is usually the leader, while the others are more submissive. To be submissive is to obey or yield to someone else. When you are submissive, you give in to someone else’s wishes. The Latin root of “submit” is “submittere,” which is formed by “sub-” and “mittere,” meaning “send.”

Willing to obey others.

What submission is not in marriage?

4. Submission means putting Christ’s will before your husband’s. The text says the wife should follow Jesus first, before her husband. He is becoming an unbeliever. She is called to be a disciple of Jesus, not him. Submission to Jesus makes submission to others less important. In verse 6, Sara calls Abraham “lord.” It’s like “sir.” She obeys because she obeys the LORD. 5. Submission doesn’t mean a wife gets her strength from her husband. A good husband should support his wife. He should be strong. A wife is the “weaker vessel” in some ways. But this text shows that if a husband doesn’t lead and support her spiritually, a Christian wife still has strength. Submission does not mean she is dependent on him for her strength. The text is the opposite. She is to develop strength and character for her husband. Verse five says she hopes in God, not her husband.

6. Submission doesn’t mean a wife should act out of fear. Verse 6b says, “You are like Sarah if you do what is right without being afraid.” Submission is free, not coerced by fear. The Christian woman is free. She submits to her husband freely, not out of fear.

Which comes first love or submission?

Submission comes first! Submission is an act of love. Two people can’t go to the next level without first submitting to each other. No matter how much you love someone, you won’t marry them if they aren’t submissive. Submission is the glue that holds two people together. Submission is a two-way thing of give-and-take, not one-way. A woman can be submissive, but she won’t love the man.

If a Nigerian man says his wife isn’t submissive, he wants a puppet.

  • Thank you Pastor M, I have been looking for an answers to my questions and you have answered it today. I have bn in choir from childhood so I’m passionate in praising God . But my husband tried to stop me from going to rehearsal or participate in church activities. So I told him that there is no husband in heaven . That was how I was allowed to serve God & am still in praise team . But I make sure I serve his food ready before going for any program.

  • Thanks be to God for this wonderful woman ♀️👠. This indeed a gift to this generation. Whenever I am perusal this woman preach and or teach I sincerely energized to be responsible. I pray and hope my wife will one day do likewise, I feel how Pastor Kingsley is proud of her. May God bless, increase and anoint you more with grace.

  • Pastor Mildred you inspire me, you motivate me you encourage me and I have started putting some of the things you say into practice in my relationship. It’s yelling good results and even if I don’t end up with the person I’m dating now, I know my husband would be lucky to have me because of your teachings God bless you ma!

  • 1. Submission starts with selection 2. There is an order: God > Christ > Husband > wife 3. Submit to whom you trust, submission is rooted in trust 4. Man must love his wife as he loves himself and wife respect her husband 5. The same way women want unconditional love the man needs unconditional respect 6. Submission involves obedience but is not the same as obedience 7. Submission is a state of yielding to authority, a willingness and attitude of respect 8. Once you’ve chosen right, settle in your heart that your husband’s intentions are always good towards you, even if not communicated that way 9. A man is not respected until he feels respected 10. You are honouring Jesus hen you respect the man submitted to him 11. Your husband is the God you see 12. Men must be the head of their home, women allow them to be it

  • Oh mine 🤗Thank you so much Pastor 🙏 I love you ma🥰🤗😘 You just solved a big problem that you aren’t told or aware of through this teaching ma. I pray the lord continue to increase you more in wisdom, knowledge and understanding ma…you will continue to be relevant in God’s presence ma in Jesus precious name.

  • I pray to God to enlighten you always, give you wisdom that surpasses worldly wisdom so that we can draw and learn from your teachings which God has taught you through your life. One thing I love about PM is, she’d always give you practical example and her own life story to make you understand it probably. Thank you so much and God bless you

  • Hello, I listened to the lectures you gave on submission, I listed out all the items you talked about, you presented a to-do list for men, and except a man meets the items on your list he doesn’t deserve respect or submission from his wife, at this point the wife has all the immunity to to turn the house upside down and let all hell break loose because the Man didn’t measure up to your list Mildred and she has done nothing wrong, and God will not hold her to account, is that true Mildred?

  • Let me tell you a story, A woman told her husband who is a pastor, that God is calling her to preach in a different city, her husband objected. She adamantly left their church to open a branch at another church. She left because she felt the husband is going to dim her graces. Today she is divorce broke and left with a bad reputation. Women respect your man, except in the issue of abuse and dis honour to God.

  • God has given both of you so much wisdom and grace. Thank you for being open, honest, and so helpful. God be the Glory. I pray your ministry in the church and on the Podcast will continue to flourish and impact marriages around the world. Strengthening communities, governments, and beyond. May Ken and Tabatha be known as Lovers for one another, as well as Lovers for God and His people. Amen.

  • This is such a hard topic for me to listen to, as a single woman. The word “submission” is very off-putting to me and I don’t know how to fix that, but this is a good place to start. Listening to the two of you discuss this as a loving team was helpful! I definitely agree it is biblical and therefore necessary, but seeing the marriages of my parents and a lot of my closest friend’s parents where the Christian Man ruled the house in a way that was toxic, hurtful, neglectful and/or petty or abusive has really scared me in regards to relationships. I know as a Christian I will have to submit if I get married, and that terrifies me and I feel reluctant to even pursue dating, because I don’t want to get trapped. I feel grieved about giving up on the idea of marriage, but I feel fear has closed the door. Even if you find a seemingly good Christian man, people can/do backslide, or pretend to be someone they are not, and then you are stuck for life. I don’t know how to overcome this, other then wait for God to work a miracle or accept that maybe I am supposed to stay single

  • I have been SEARCHING for a teaching on wives submitting to husbands that was proper and just listening to this, I literally can feel the SPIRIT of God, the love of God and for each other. This was not a show. It was truly the heart and mind of God. Thank you sooooo much for this teaching. I feel confident!

  • I came across a clip of this episode on Facebook and had to come to YouTube to get the full meal! And I must say, I’ve been FED. I appreciate the candor between the two of you. I especially enjoyed listening to Tabatha’s pov considering I haven’t had many examples of a good wife/marriage. Keep doing Gods work yall!! You are giving people the tools and communication to have powerful relationships and marriages.

  • I’m thankful for this discussion. Your perspective gives me more understanding of submission and my role as man to acknowledge the mutual submission within the hierarchy of the family/roles. I’m 26 and single. And I’m still learning and pulling away my worldly mental model of the definition of submission

  • SOO GOOD ! I’m a new viewer & All the articles I have watched so far, all of them just bring so much good advice. You guys also go into depth on how to do things you say . When I have seen other articles they just say the same generic thing oh you have to submit but you guys ask okay but how ? Why don’t they wanna submit ? you guys question each other and try understand why that is . And you guys also learn from one another and see a different perspective while making this article. God is speaking through you guys ! Tabatha I want to some day be a godly women like you and an awesome wife like you ! Thank you for being a role model for us women on how we should be. Ken you are a godly man and a good leader and husband. God is truly speaking to you both ! May God protect you guys always and keep blessing you both ! ❤️

  • I’m studying what the Bible says about being a wife and as I got to Ephesians the submission scripture jumped out at me. I never had a problem with it but I realize that as I’m called to minister this to other women, I may run into women who DO have a problem with it. So I asked God to lead me to a message that He has already put forth into the Earth about this topic that I can glean from. And for me to know it’s a good, Godly word. I opened YouTube and this message was at the top of the list. I scrolled past to look at all the options but I felt led to listen to YOURS! And I’m so glad I did! My biggest take away is that God intended us to live out mutual submission. Then I did a deep dive on your ministry and can’t wait to listen to your God math series! Thank you guys for being obedient and putting this word out. It blessed me in November 2023!

  • This was great all the way through but 37 minutes in really got me. Yes! Thank you so much! I appreciate you guys for preaching the words. This was an amazing conversation. Having God in your lives definitely makes all the difference. I wasn’t raised to be submissive at all but as I’ve grown up I believe it to be true.

  • You have no idea how much this helped me. I’ve struggled with power and submission and not understanding the view. My father was incarcerated and the relationships I’ve seen always had the women in control and this definitely changed my perspective. I just thank God for changing my perspective and for you answering the call 🙏

  • Thank you thank you you’re talk about submission was a blessing in my life and was right on time. I’m 66 years old been married 4 times I have a boyfriend and he said’s he wants a wife that knows how to submit. To be honest I didn’t know what that meant and we always argued about it I thought he just wanted to control me because my other marriages were abusive. So we are at the point now where we break up and get back together because we really love each other I’m afraid one day we might not get back together because you only can say sorry so many times. So I decided to go on YouTube and find me some Help on this subject and you and your husband were a God sent. I look at Submission through different eyes now and I understand what God means as far as our rolls in a marriage. I also learned a new Love Language with my Boo 😊 Yes even at our age he’s my Boo ❤ So thank you again and God Bless You Both and your Family 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

  • Awesome discussion, and well needed. I would like to shine light on what was mentioned about women functioning in the office of the governmental order. In the Spirit of the Gospel- there is equality, and I’m sure we can all agree women were not created to be fathers. Holding the ‘office’ in the government of God/ 5-fold ministry is out of order/principle. However, as Sons of God (male & female), we are lead, and are equal in that sense. As the husband/father is to his family, so is the 5-fold Ministry to the Church, according to Ephesians 4; it is out of order for females to hold the office, yet she has the ministry of reconciliation, and whatever the Holy Spirit leads her to do in any given moment. If Ephesians 4 applied to women, it would suggest women can indeed function as mother and father. Thank God for continued revelation, and understand; I will continue to open myself for such 🙏🏾

  • Thank you for this conversation and it’s also funny you started out with movies. I grew up the same way my mother and father agreed we are not allowing things into our spirit and not just perusal anything we like. I had a bad experience when my children were very young and my husband bought tickets to see transformers the older ones very sexual forward. I was boiling on the inside immediately I took action all movies and shows go through me . If it’s now the wife and it’s reversed how would I navigate putting that trust in him and protecting my children even if he thinks it’s ok ?

  • I absolutely love your website. It literally came at the perfect time in my life. Let me just understand this. So you can have the conversation, and you’ll give your wife to voice her opinion about whatever the situation is but ultimately you make the final decision whether she agrees with it or not? Or you try to still make your wife happy in the matter

  • I agree with most of what you all are saying and great discussion by the way. I’m however, not seeing where the Bible is calling for mutual submission. He says the wife to submit to her husband, and he tells the husband to love her as Christ loved the church. There’s no reciprocal submission between Christ and his bride(the church). He’s simply calling for the husband to love his wife self- sacrificiallly. In other words give up what he desires in order to meet her needs. Now there are mutual obligations of course, but he’s saying husband’s sacrifice yourself for your wife but mutually submit, no. On the contrary, Paul calls on the wife to affirm and support the headship of their husbands. Only the wives are given such instruction to submit.

  • Wow! That’s exactly how my husband feels (with the example of the pg 13th movies). But I do summit to him but I’m know in agreement with him in some topics. He does feel I’m not submitting because I don’t agree, but in the end, I do summit. It is amazing how this can translate to the man’s braind, interesting 🤔

  • This actually came up today, and my issue is that I’m getting, “It says ‘wives submit’ but it really means …” Why can’t the language match the meaning? Because a great many people take it at face value. There is no way I’m taking a vow that doesn’t mean what it says. The language must be clear. I want my man to also submit to me. I didn’t hear any thing about the man submitting. Women need to have equality. I’ll stay single. Totally cool with that. Because hhhhhhheyellll no. It’s too one sided. I’ve been carrying the rock myself supporting my children without dad. He divorced them when I divorced him. The point here is that I am not about to have some “man” come in and take the helm of the ship I’ve been running. He can take shifts, but I’m not going to give my power to be lead. The amount of hypocrisy in this … really? No one sees this? How many arguments and fights come from this? Oh I’m sorry, what was that answer? Uh huh The language needs to match the meaning. Period.

  • A lot of men just aren’t a spiritual leader and for most Christian women that’s a must. If the man isn’t fostering a deep relationship with God himself then he’s not even capable of leading his wife and children so how can she feel comfortable to submit? If he’s not asking God for wisdom on each thing then he’s lost and she isn’t going submit to a ship that’s lost at sea. She’s gonna cling to God and hope her husband catches up. And until then it’s chaos.

  • Every time this discussion comes up in conversation I cringe. Only at the 10:00 ish mark and my issue with it is already exemplified. Why is a discussion or a disagreement automatically a sign of disrespect or offensive to a man’s ego? If simply disagreeing on a perspective and hoping to talk it out is not submissive I guess it’s not in me.😂 still perusal, great website

  • Yes, she started saying this at the end but didn’t get into it. My questions are when you have a husband who chooses not to fully submit to God, & yet want me to submit to him when he wants to do some things God says we shouldn’t, some habits like watch tv, movies, games & play article games, he doesn’t have a vision or try to find one, its hard to trust him to follow through or complete what he says he’s going to do in many areas in life, he doesnt bring money into the home, but allows me to work outside the home so I kind of count that, but thinks he could do more like learn somethings to improve the structure of our family spiritually, mentally, financially & more. I try to encourage, not with hold myself sexually, ask for more time for us to hang out, commune & to make goals or plans, etc & yet I do not have this. He did start cleaning a bit more & encouraging the children to do some learning since I’ve been working a lot to replenish our finances. Many times I say anything, I’m attacking him. I know he loves me, but he does not always show it in how he speaks to me, negates my ideas of working on getting in God’s word together, talking to the children & more. He encourages the children to play & watch stuff when I ask them to learn & work on stuff to better their precepts. He doesn’t believe that what they watch or listen to affects them. So, it is turmoil at times & I just have to stay quiet & dispell the stuff they watch with teaching about how that show, movie, or song is wrong to agree with.

  • i used to be very very combative when it came to the idea of submission UNTIL I really truly entered in relationship with God and saw God as my provider and had instances where He showed love to me in ways that were absolutely unfathomable. So there’s something beautiful about meeting a man who exhibits the love, care, attention to detail the way that God has shown me in real life…who wouldn’t want to come under that mission?!! I WOULD LOVE to meet someone with vision, passion, ingenuity, compassion and intelligence. I am now looking forward to it

  • My fiance, wanted to spend her Bachelorette at a bar with her friends, and I told her no. I don’t like bars, especially when your significant other is going without you. Bars are meant for people to get drunk and meet other people and hooking up. Now we’re in a huge argument. I know I’m un the right. What sayall?

  • I am not a wife tho im longing to be. Ive been in a serious relationship for almost 5 yrs. However just found Christ a year ago. I dont submit. I use every excuse from he’s not my husband, his lack of action, hes not where I think he should be and our situation in general. Its been laid on my heart that I need to work on myself that I need to be a biblical wife that its a me problem. Its been a hard pill to accept but this podcast was very informative non judgemental and eye opening this was/is my first step and you really changed the word/way i look at submission

  • I thank you both for so many awesome topics and sincerely coming from a GOD fearing perspective! However, it’s important to respect the roles that GOD has set before us. Example, when you mentioned that the husband’s responsibility is greater it truly is because he is the head and more importantly GOD is the head of man. It doesn’t say wives are to lay down there lives for the husband because our roles are specific to us. In several books of the Bible it is broken down how GOD wants His house to be governed as He sees fit. He has created us this way to serve Him, to serve His purpose, and to change us, not for us to change His Word to our liking. It is true that there are several women in the Bible that were in leadership roles but remember the Jezebel spirit and how she was against GOD. It’s vital that we recognize the order which is GOD/JESUS, man, woman and then children, that’s His way not ours. We must set ourselves apart to not conform to this world and stop trying to change His Word to fit our lifestyles but He gave us His Word to change us in order to make it into His Kingdom. I love having Bible study and sharing His Word!!! With Love GOD Bless you all!!!

  • If one person has to submit to the other that means you don’t agree and if that happens enough for submission to be a “thing” you are probably just not meant to be together or a bad match. We choose who we marry and we are fallible, we make bad choices and mistakes. In the biblical days people were literally put together, there was no dating or courtship even, so I would imagine many if not most marriages were between people who did not like each other, were not attracted to each other, and had zero in common. In a patriarchal society where women were also PROPERTY, of course the man got his way all the time.

  • I have a question more than a comment, I’ve recently lost a lot of weight and am feeling very good about myself. My husband has a problem with this, he thinks that I’m looking for attention, which I’m not. Last night we had plans to go out to a friends bday, I got all ready and he started with my clothes and how I was dressed (Jeans, tshirt, shorts heel boots) saying I was looking for attention. He says that I’m 54 years old and he wants me to dress more conservative. We never went out. I feel that he’s trying to control me, which is not making me feel good about myself! My question is should I submit to him? Like he wants to change me.

  • What about an unevenly yolked marriage? For example, I found Jesus while married to a Hindu. I submit best I can because I know I must respect my husband and I view submission as a way of serving God, unless it goes against God’s instruction. Then I fight morally and respectfully but it is very difficult because there is so much misunderstanding. But it’s a HUGE challenge

  • Would love to hear your biblical perspective what does it mean when you say a wife as a helpmate to her husband. Practically what does that look like on the topic on submission? I believe we need to be clear that we are talking about wives. Understanding your role now with that title being a helpmate to your husband?

  • Let me start off by saying im muslim and i just happened upon this podcast. A genuine question regarding the verse…..’wives submit unto your own husbands, as unto the lord’…..i’m assuming ‘Lord’ refers to God Almighty.. If sin is a wilful disobedience to God would the wife then be sinning if she disobeys the husband as submission to the hasband should be the same as unto the Lord, God Almighty?

  • This is the first time i’ve watched your articles, and I am beyond blessed to now have your website as a tool to help me in my faith. I have been struggling with this for the entirely of my relationship as we get ready to enter into a marriage. I grew up with it just being my Mom and I and occasionally an ungodly man meant to lead. i watched my mom submit and unfortunately our lives took turns for the worse because the men were not leading our family for the righteousness of God. Because of all of this i have a very hard time submitting, which has ultimately led to a standstill in my relationship. I love that she acknowledged that yes women a lot of times simply refuse to submit, but also in order to some of us simply need our man to step up and take on the responsibilities that God has given him to lead the household. It’s very much both for us, but I have a lot of clarity and better understanding of my role and how to be able to succeed in my role to be able to help and support him.

  • What does it mean for the wife to submit to her husband spiritually? Does this mean she can’t have her own opinions about scripture and has to agree with what her husband thinks? I don’t struggle with submission other than submitting spiritually – but then I wonder if I don’t understand it properly. Example: What if a wife thinks that hitting a child as discipline is wrong and doesn’t want her children to be smacked, but the husband thinks it’s fine. How is she meant to submit to that?

  • If a wife sees and knows that her husband is leading them in a path of financial ruin then no way I am NOT going to submit to to a man that will NOT listen to his wife and concerns because she has been done that path but he is “the leader”…. I am ready for a divorce, I no longer trust him and honestly believe my opinion and experience and counsel means nothing. Because of his not even been willing to read the Bible with me and I have been begging for 20 minutes a day and nothing and sadly we have not even been married 2 years yet!!! Yet I am supposed to submit!!!! NO….Divorce!!!!

  • Why are some Pastors afraid of their wives being powerful spiritually? They want their wives to be pretty, silent, and powerless, and that’s not biblical. If God has called you to be a Co-Shepherd or Prophetess you should be allowed to operate in your spiritual gifts whether you ministering to a woman or man.

  • Do you truly believe there should be a tie breaker? If you can’t agree that one person should decide? If you can’t agree maybe God is saying don’t decide! Maybe you don’t do the thing because you can’t agree! Maybe if you and your partner aren’t on the same page there is a reason and the decision should be put on hold until God works it out in the hearts of those deciding?

  • It does not make sense ;he said we discuss it and pray about, but what is the point if he going to do his way, regardless what she says, . He says he is the provided, so this means wife can never work and provide for herlsef,? so she would have to go to him to provide what she needs, it does not sound right. and he is the protector. this means she is totally dependant on him this is not rightr she is not being an individual

  • If you really want to break down the word submission, you have to break down the original Greek word that is translated into English as submission. That word is Hupotasso. Here is the definition directly from: Strong’s Concordance hupotassó: to place or rank under, to subject, mid. to obey\r Original Word: ὑποτάσσω\r Part of Speech: Verb\r Transliteration: hupotassó\r Phonetic Spelling: (hoop-ot-as’-so)\r Definition: to place or rank under, to subject, mid. to obey\r Usage: I place under, subject to; mid, pass: I submit, put myself into subjection. Now lets break it down. It comes from two other Greek words from hupo and tassó. hupo: under tasso: to draw up in order, arrange (to rank) Hupotasso is a military term that means “rank under”. So what is the exact instruction to wives? It means that a wife is to consider her husband to be a higher rank (in authority) than her husband and to treat him accordingly. Another way to put it is that a wife is to arrange herself under the authority of her husband… and treat him accordingly.

  • Bible, who should yall submit to 1:59 was 5ge question yet sister fails to point to the scripture. If you have confidence in government you should submit, wifes to husband’s, we to one another, Childern to parents, slave to master, women to the church, daughter to mother, God of course. They obvious your employer, women hav little issue submitting to who controls their bag easier than their man.

  • That is not right . ” to lead you in places that you could not have gotten to by yourself “” it is God who lead the women not the men, or able to think for her self and decide for herself. IT is offensive what he said ‘ is making a statement she ”is hopeless’ she has to depend on him to crontol he life she can not think for her self.

  • The scripture your talking about is also mentioned in timothy 3 and it clearly gives references to why woman cant be pastors in a church and that is because the man was created first and also the woman was the transgressor not the man, you need to go read the scripture because saying woman can be pastors is biblically not accurate.

  • Lol that isn’t a relationship at all, that’s why people say you should marry your friend not some weird guy like this these people always talk about god. Whenever people didn’t accept his disciples god told them not to worry about it. All through out the Bible in terms of dealing with people god was very forgiving. Most of the people in the Bible did some of the most unchristian things like David killing another woman’s husband, the way Benjamin got a wife men today would go to jail for that especially Solomon. Also there also women in Jesus’s family tree who were also sinful before being redeemed that were prostitutes like Ishtar to name a few. Not to mention the Bible says if a man hurts and offends his wife that god will not hear his prayers and to treat his wife as the weaker vessel and honor her BECAUSE she is weaker than him not exploit her weakness. Respect is earned and honor is given and the Bible actually talks about people who are unequally yoked and not once did god say to exert force and power but to pray for them. In fact the Bible tells men to forgive your wives as god forgives them and that is why I know that men who are like this want to play god because nowhere in the Bible does god say strike or force others to bend to your will in a marriage and to put the onus on the wife on wether or not you sin and to not let the sun go down on your anger is enough proof that these men are looking to be abusive men and know it but are relying on your low self worth to do the talking and you not understanding the Bible yourself because I was debunking as he talked.

  • Big time error! No mutual submission in marriage! Ephesians 5:21 is setting up the submission order. Wife submit to husband, children submit to parents,,slaves submit to masters! Never are husbands supposed to submit to wife. Ever! Husbands are to (Love) their wives as Christ (Love) the church and give himself for her!

  • I disagree sir about the man submitting to his wife… this is a wrong rendering of the scripture in question. It really is simple if you ask yourself the question: “how did Christ love the Church?” You can easily realize that Christ never did anything in submission to the Church, but He did exactly what the Word says which was, “loved the Church and died for Her” not “submit to Her.” They are not the same sir. Without sugar-coating, man love your wife, be gracious to and considerate of her, but be led by God’s Spirit in carrying out your obligations as the custodian of matrimonial authority. A truly spiritually matured woman will align with that matrimonial order as set up by God and it will reflect in the undeniable quality and genuineness of the fruits your marriage produces. It takes a lot of practice and a prayerful lifestyle to do de will of God even in marriage. God bless this beautiful couple, prosper this Chanel and use it to bless many around the world in Jesus’ Name!

  • Ken, you need to repent from your understanding of the proper role of women in the church brother. What Paul said to the church at Corinth was (as he stated in verse 2) “To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:” Paul made it clear that this letter was to “all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…”. You my friend have been compromised by the cancer of feminism. That anger that you said other Christians were showing you, some of it might have been the righteous anger from God that you are being a false teacher of scripture. Repent my brother.

  • IT MAYBE DISAGREEMENT TO YOU, BUT ITS STILL NOT SUBMISSION TO YOUR HUSBAND IF HES ALREADY SAID HOW HE FEELS ABOUT IT MORE THAN ONCE ABOUT THE MOVI.E. AND KIDS KNOW THIS SO EVEN IF YOU DISAGREE WITH IT, YOU HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO THE SON LIKE COME ON YOU KNOW HOW DADDY FEELS ABOUT THAT, IF ITS PG-13 AND YOURE NOT 13 YET, ITS OFF LIMITS- NO MATTER IF THE CHILD GETS MAD OR NOT BECAUSE YOURE TEACHING THE CHILD AS WELL ABOUT SUBMISSION AT AN EARLY AGE
