  • excellent and informative article. don’t miss it new visitors to Phuket !! ..because you will get a very good, well-rounded view of Phuket rather than just visiting Patong Beach and Bangla Road, which are extremely commercialized and will not provide a complete picture . Of course the whole island is pretty much geared for tourists but this article certainly helps.

  • Very well made article 👌 I was in Thailand for 3 months in 2008, koh Leipe didn’t even have roads or mopeds back then, and the viking resort on koh phi phi Don was just starting their amazing tree houses, looks so busy now, my wife and I are going back there in October next year, but we are staying in kamala beach up from karon beach, thanks for uploading such a great article guys 😁

  • I would add… whenever driving in Asia anywhere… follow the rules but expect most others won’t. Don’t be surprised to see a vehicle traveling the wrong way on a one way, or on sidewalks, or just randomly pull in front of you. Getting cut off is pretty normal, and the general ‘unwritten’ rule is that the larger vehicle has the right away and will just expect you to yield. It’s super scary. That being said, Koh Samui was an island more populated by expat Europeans (mostly Germans) that actual Thai people… and I guess Phuket might be similar? In fact the best/most authentic German food outside of Germany I found was Koh Samui.

  • I just love Phuket ❤❤❤❤❤, going back there for the umpteenth time in May. Karon is my favourite place, spending 2 weeks there, seeing my dentist, hanging out in the Sutin bar, spending days on the beach, and eating street food. 15 days in comfortable accommodation in the centre of Karon $440 AUD for 15 nights.
