What To Wear To A Winter Wedding When Pregnant?

Winter weddings are a great time to dress up and look your best during pregnancy. Some of the best maternity dresses for winter weddings include the Stowaway Collection Lexi Maternity Dress, Nuuly Maternity Aurora Dress, and Azazie Yetta in White. No-fuss dresses are ideal for winter, while long dresses or evening wear can be worn with heels.

Jackets are also a popular choice for winter weddings, as they provide maximum comfort and support. Layering appropriately with a faux-fur coat, plush shrug, soft shawl, chic vest, and tights is essential for staying warm. Jewel tones, such as deep purples, emerald greens, and royal blues, are recommended for winter weddings.

When planning a wedding, it’s important to consider when you’re due and when you’re getting married. If you’re due around the time of the wedding, it may be wise to move your date. Seraphine Champagne Sparkle Maternity Dress is a popular choice for formal events, while My Bump Double-Layer Ruffle Maternity is best for budget. PinkBlush Ivory solid off-shoulder maternity maxi dress is perfect for beach weddings or warm-weather ceremonies.

A black cocktail wrap dress is a stylish option for winter weddings, as its wrap skirt drapes comfortably over the bump. Bodycon dresses can be worn while pregnant, and solid colors like blush or rose complement most pregnant women well.

In summary, winter weddings offer a variety of outfit options for female guests, including no-fuss dresses, cozy dresses, and elegant outfits. Remember to stay stylish and comfortable during this special time, and don’t sacrifice style for your baby’s appearance.

What to wear to a wedding if you are pregnant?

  • You dont have to condemn yourself to shopping at maternity stores only. Sizing up at your favourite brands and being clever about fabric choice and cut will allow you to keep wearing clothes that feel like you.
  • Consider dresses with an empire waist so your bump has plenty of room.
  • Do not be afraid of a bodycon! Embrace your beautiful curves instead of hiding under pieces that are oversized and shapeless.
  • Longer dresses in a block colour are more elongating.
  • One shoulder pieces look especially beautiful with a bump.
  • Shoes – prioritise comfort!
  • Try it on in a couple of sizes if necessary.
  • Accessories – be bold and have fun.
  • And finally, why not consider renting? Not only is this better for your purse, but its kinder on the environment, too – plus you can borrow a dress from as little as £25, in any size required for your whatever stage of pregnancy youre at – win-win.

Can you wear black to a winter wedding as a guest?

Factor In The Wedding Partys Attire. Of course, you dont want to upstage the bride or blend in with the wedding attendants if either is wearing black. Although its non-traditional, some brides wear dark colors on their big day, and attendants are often in black attire for more formal weddings. I have beautiful brides wearing black wedding dresses, said Anastasia Stevenson, a destination wedding planner with Coastal Creative Weddings in Tybee Island, GA. It is perfectly acceptable and chic to wear black to evening, black tie, and winter weddings.

Ryncarz agreed that it is wise to gauge the attire of the wedding attendants. When wearing black to a wedding, keep the outfit in line with the dressiness of the bridal party and wedding as a whole, she said. As long as the event calls for a particular level of formality and you wont upstage the couple or the wedding party, its safe to wear black to the wedding.

Ask The Couple About The Attire. When in doubt, ask the couple. Even if you arent close to the bride or groom, ask someone you know, such as the mother of the bride or a wedding attendant. Doing so may encourage the couple to clarify and add more detail to their wedding website. Plus, you can attend with complete assurance that you wont be making a blunder.

The good news is that during pregnancy you’re likely to feel warmer than usual so you might not feel the cold as much (NHS Choices, 2018). But you’ll still want to find ways to keep you and your growing bump nice and snug as the chilly days set in.

How can I stay warm in winter while pregnant?

  • Layers are a good idea as many mums-to-be say they fluctuate between being too hot or too cold.
  • Look out for long stretchy vests to cover your bump. Wear with existing jumpers, cardies and shirts or blouses.
  • Use a scarf as a way to keep your neck and bump covered with non-maternity coats and cardies.
  • Borrow from friends and find second hand ‘steals at an NCT Nearly New Sale.

Keeping cosy also involves warming hot drinks, warm baths and toasty homes (if thats possible for you at the moment). Here are our tips on these:

  • Think about decaffeinated tea and coffee. Pregnant women are advised to limit caffeine to no more than 200mg a day (NHS Choices, 2018a). Hot chocolate, herbal teas or warm lemon drinks are good alternatives.
  • You might have enjoyed taking a hot bath before your pregnancy. But now youre pregnant its important to avoid making the bath too hot. Keep the water below 35°C as raising your core body temperature could be harmful for the baby (NHS Choices, 2018b).
  • Keep the thermostat at a temperature that keeps you comfortable. But remember its also important to stay hydrated, especially if youre loaded with layers with the heating on. Youll need to drink at least 1.6 litres of water a day (Tommys, 2017).

Can I have bare legs at a wedding?

I have advised readers that while bare legs are fine even at the most formal events, hosiery also is perfectly acceptable as long as its skin tone and sheer. Ive just returned from a wedding where I wore my new bargain ($10!)

This question rolled in just as I was about to issue a bulletin on this very subject…Dear Answer Angel Ellen: My son is getting married in November. I’m wearing a black knee-length sequined sheath. I have an old pair of black sequined pumps that will look fabulous with the dress. I would prefer to wear pantyhose since it is November and also because the shoes are a little tight. Are bare legs still the way to go, or is hosiery OK. And if so, what color would you suggest?

Dear Sharri: I have just refined my advice on this frequent question, thanks to some personal trial and error over the past two weeks. The most frequent questions put to The Angel have something to do with what to wear to a wedding. One common dilemma is whether bare legs are the chic option or is hosiery now OK.

How to survive a wedding in the first trimester?

Be Prepared – Bring Snacks, Water, and More Water.. In my never ending battle with nausea, having snacks and drinks in my bag was key to getting through a 12 hour wedding day. There wasnt much that agreed with me in the early weeks, but I found some bland snacks that I could keep on hand – Triscuts, Belvita Bars, Apple Sauce, etc. I kept a large stash of these things in my bag and in my pockets. More importantly, I kept my Yeti with me at all times. When I started to feel waterlogged, I switched it up with iced tea or La Croix. Staying hydrated is priority, especially in the warmer months!!

Preggie Pops. Let me introduce to you these individually wrapped pieces of heaven –Preggie Pops. Preggie Pops are hard candies that help alleviate nausea and they are amazing and taste delicious. I wasnt introduced to these incredible bits of goodness until about 11 weeks and I feel like I totally missed out. Once they came into my life, they went with me EVERYWHERE and they really helped battle my 24/7 nausea! Get them. You wont regret it.

Protect Your Time. Balance has been a big focus in my life over the last year, but now it is more important than ever. In that first trimester (and beyond), a daily nap is necessary so Ive been very intentional about blocking afternoons so I can rest if needed. I also blocked as many days before and after wedding days as I could to allow myself to prepare and rest for the long work day. I also had to protect my time by saying no to things I used to say yes to. Things like coffee dates and networking events are great, but dont feel guilty about giving yourself a little space. You are experiencing so many changes physically and emotionally during this time – its perfectly okay to say no and focus on you!
