In the eleventh episode of When Calls the Heart, Jack returns to town with an unexpected visitor, and a budding romance grows between Bill (Jack Wagner) and Abigail (Lori Loughlin). The episode is not rated by the Motion Picture Association of America but is considered suitable for all audiences.

This is the first of many contrasts in the narrative between characters who respond with belief and those who do not. Lukes reference to Elizabeths “hiding herself” for five months is not an insignificant narrative detail but one that presents Elizabeth as the first of many unexpected characters of faith in Lukes account of the “things fulfilled among us” (1:1).

During the Christmas episode of When Hope Calls, the late Jack Thornton makes a reappearance to Abigail Stanton in which he asks her to send Elizabeth a message: “Will you let her know that I am happy that she is moving on with her life? And let her know that she is doing a fine job with little Jack, and I cannot be more proud of both of them.” He then turns away, vanishes, and Abigail wakes up.

Relationship. Elizabeth Thornton (Wife): It was a lukewarm beginning to their friendship when he was first posted to Coal Valley. After a five-season long romance, Jack married Elizabeth in a beautiful wedding. After only a day or so of marriage, Jack got an assignment to train other Mounties, forcing him to leave his new bride. Tragically, a landslide occurred a few weeks into the training, and Jack pushed two of his men out of the way, sacrificing himself. Does Elizabeth end up with Lucas on When Calls the Heart?

Season 10 of When Calls the Heart ended in a surprising turn of events when Elizabeth broke off her engagement to Lucas (Chris McNally) amid her developing feelings for Nathan.

I really feel like Nathan not finding a place, him not finding a partner, was deliberate. He was meant to kind of just wonder, while she was kind of moving forward with Lucas, McGarry said. I think it was always meant to be this and that they were meant to be endgame. And I really like how its been done.

Nathan came to Hope Valley after the death of Elizabeths husband, fellow Mountie Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing). Nathan developed feelings for Elizabeth, which he expressed in season 8 although the feelings were, at the time, unrequited.

Now, however, it seems fans will be getting a lot more of Elizabeth and Nathans growing romance, and the chemistry between McGarry and Krakow goes a long way toward selling that relationship.

In the letter, Jack explained to Elizabeth he would be with her always and hoped she could find love again. Soon after Jacks death, Elizabeth discovered she was pregnant and gave birth to their son, Jack Jr.

Lucas Bouchard: She chose him to dance with during the Ladies Choice in the Season 6 Finale and their relationship grew over three seasons. He took her on several unofficial dates and finally began to court her, but due to mixed signals over Nathan, he set her free to follow her heart. Elizabeth decided Lucas was her choice at the end of season 8. They shared their first kiss at the bridge and later at the library. At the end of season 9, Elizabeth accepted his marriage proposal. In Season 10, they planned their wedding, but Elizabeth began having doubts about their future together as the shine began to wear off of their relationship. The things Lucas wanted to do for her became to be less and less welcome to Elizabeth, and she found herself confused by a resurgence of her feelings for Nathan. As her feelings began to shift, Elizabeth tried her best to make it work with Lucas, but it eventually became clear that they were not meant to be together. This culminated in her breaking off their engagement just before Lucas left to campaign for Governor. Despite their breakup, she remained a supporter of his campaign.;

Nathan Grant: For 3 seasons, Elizabeth developed a close friendship with Nathan that at times was flirtatious. At the end of season 7, she thought hed been killed and ran into his arms. But, at the beginning of season 8, she told him she couldnt be with him because it would hurt too much to lose him like shed lost Jack. She was upset after Nathan confessed that he was supposed to lead the training mission that killed Jack, but eventually realized he wasnt to blame. When Lucas set her free, Elizabeth decided that while she loved Nathan as a friend, she had been trying to find Jack in him. After her rejection, they rebuilt their friendship and remained close. Nathan attempted to move on with other women, but continued to carry a torch for Elizabeth, even if he wasnt always aware of it. Nathan confronted Elizabeth about her choice to leave Hope Valley if Lucas won the election, which forced her to take a long, hard look at her future.;

Is Kayla Wallace leaving When Calls the Heart?

In writing off Wallaces character, When Calls the Heart indicates that Fiona needed more time with the suffragettes off-screen. But Krakow, 39, confirmed that Wallace isnt slated to return immediately, if at all. Its all due to scheduling conflicts.

“We love Kayla Wallace. We would love for her to be in every episode,” she said.Kayla had a really incredible opportunity on another TV series that films out of town called Landman. Were excited for her.

Krakow added, “We are hoping that well be able to have Fiona back for some episodes. Who knows? But yeah — were truly over the moon thrilled for Kayla.”
