When was King Charles and Camilla wedding?

April 9, 2005 Take a look back at their intimate civil ceremony and marriage blessing in Windsor. King Charles and Queen Camilla didnt have the most straightforward romance, but on April 9, 2005, 35 years after they first met, the royal couple finally tied the knot.

The crowds in Windsor came out for the wedding day.

Waving to the crowds following their civil ceremony. Because they are both divorced, Charles and Camilla elected to have a civil marriage ceremony followed by a blessing at Windsor Castle instead of a church service.

What royal wedding was in 2010?

The wedding of Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, and Daniel Westling took place on 19 June 2010 in Stockholm Cathedral.1 It had been described as Europes biggest royal wedding since the Prince of Wales married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981.2 Westling thereby acquired Victorias ducal title, becoming a Swedish prince and Duke of Västergötland.3In time for the wedding, a joint monogram of their initials was created.4.

Backgroundedit. Victoria is the eldest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. As the firstborn of the family, she was designated heir apparent in 1980 (SFS 1979:932), ahead of her younger brother. Westling was Victorias personal trainer at Master Training. In July 2002, Victoria and Westling were pictured kissing for the first time5 at a birthday party for Caroline Kreuger, a close friend of Victorias. Westling and Victorias engagement was announced on 24 February 2009. The wedding was set to take place in Stockholm Cathedral on 19 June 2010, the 34th anniversary of her parents marriage3 and a traditional wedding date of the Swedish Royal Family (several past House of Bernadotte family members had married on that date).6 The chosen year 2010 also marks the 200th year since Jean Baptiste Jules Bernadotte, from whom the Royal House of Sweden descends, became heir presumptive to the Swedish throne.7.

Preparations and financesedit. On 17 September 2009, the cathedral parish of Stockholm announced that there would be a restoration of Stockholm Cathedral during the period January–April 2010, and costing 12.4 million Swedish kronor.8 The wedding itself cost about 20 million kronor which was paid half by the Swedish Royal Family and half by the Swedish government from tax money.9 This was criticized by some Swedish citizens10 but the argument was debunked by official response saying that the wedding will generate equivalent or more revenue from the event.11 This argument was mostly seen as an excuse to continue the monarchy system, rather than evaluating their present-day relevance.12.

Who paid for Kate Middleton’s wedding?

Costedit. The costs of the wedding itself were borne by the Royal Family and the Middletons themselves, while the costs of security and transport were covered by Her Majestys Treasury.3839 The couple also asked that donations be made to charities in place of traditional wedding gifts;40 to that end, they established The Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund, which focused on assisting charities such as the New Zealand Christchurch Earthquake Appeal, the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, and the Zoological Society of London.41.

The overall cost of the event was estimated to be £23.7million.42 The Australian newspaper Herald Sun estimated A$32million for security and A$800,000 for flowers. Estimates of the cost to the economy of extra public holidays, such as that allowed for the wedding, vary between £1.2billion and £6billion.43 The British government tourist authority VisitBritain predicted the wedding would trigger a tourism boom that would last several years, eventually pulling in an additional 4million visitors and generating £2billion.44 However, VisitBritains head of research and forecasting, David Edwards, suggested to colleagues two days after the engagement was announced that the evidence points to royal weddings having a negative impact on inbound tourism. He noted that the number of visitors to Britain was down significantly in July 1981, when Prince Charles and Diana were married, from the same period in other years, and also July 1986, when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were married, was down from July 1985.45.

On 16 and 17 February, three sets of guest lists were sent out in the name of the Queen. Many guests or their successors in office who were invited to the wedding of Williams parents were not invited to the wedding. The first list, consisting of about 1,900 people, attended the ceremony in the abbey; the second list of approximately 600 people were invited to the luncheon reception at Buckingham Palace, hosted by the Queen; and the final list, of about 300 names, was for the evening dinner, hosted by the Prince of Wales.46.

  • This was the most Beautiful wedding to date. I saw these boys grow up to be beautiful handsome young men. Though, I always felt that Prince Harry was the “black” sheep of the family 🤔😄. But, he has grown and matured so beautifully. God bless him. May this couple change the world for better. This marriage is a testimony to all young women no matter race, creed or color. There is a Prince out there for those who want a Prince. This is a fairytale that has come true. It brought tears to my eyes. Again, may God continue to bless those two Beautiful people.😚😚

  • Oh how times have changed. They quit the royal family, moved to california, the Queen died, her son became King. So much has happened. Its sad seeing so much changing some for the good some for the bad. 2 children later they are doing good but the family is torn apart. I hope they can repair things somehow.
