While many of the conversational and planning scenes take place in Charlestown, most of the action sequences take place in iconic Boston locations. The movie follows a team of bank robbers who attempt to pull off one final heist before retiring from the dangerous career. This final heist takes place at none other than Americas most iconic ballpark, Fenway Park. The team, led by Doug (Ben Affleck), dress up as Boston police department officials and EMT services to rob the Boston Red Sox during a game – the ultimate cash (untraceable) crime. As one may expect, things get rocky during the climax, and all the action sequences are filmed on location at the real baseball park!

Before this dramatic ending, the film also has sequences in other quintessential Boston locations, including the Charlestown bridge. According to lore, when the Boston Police Department hears of a bank robbery happening in the city, the first thing they do is close the Charlestown bridge. The team, while sporting nun costumes and masks, quickly attempts to make an escape from downtown Boston to the bridge and beat the police department to the closing.

Additionally, Doug and Claire (Rebecca Hall) share a classic Boston romance. The two talk over a cup of joe at Dunkin Donuts, which was filmed at a real Dunkin at the Park Street T Station. Ben Affleck consciously made this decision, and as it turns out in every movie he makes he tries to put a Dunkin cup somewhere in the final cut. Nothing says Boston like a windy morning and a cup of Dunks!

Heronsbridge is nestled on 10 acres of pristine land with gardens, trails, and fields. The site also features a gorgeous gazebo—which is actually where Ian proposed to Miranda in Engaging Father Christmas!

Is Carlton Heath, Vermont a real place?

I mean, lets face it. Its got everything a non-discriminating Hallmark watcher could want. A little comedy; a little pathos; a lot of romance; and even an element of mystery! The only things I do have (more than a little) trouble with are the in-story chronology and logistics.

Unless the fictional town of Carlton Heath is situated between Bennington and Brattelboro, Vermont, I cant picture the efficiency-minded Miranda driving up from Logan Internation Airport (in Boston, Mass.) when the international airport in Burlington, Vermont, would have been much more feasible! Unless, of course, she hopped a commuter flight to Burlington and rented her four-wheel drive SUV, there?

Then, theres the confusion about precisely when she leaves Seattle and arrives in Carlton Heath. Considering that Christmas Eve fell on a Saturday, in 2016, when did Miranda get that suitcase from Rick Torrance; when did she have the second of two fateful discussions with her good friend (and, possibly, foster sister) Blair; and, considering that most small towns in Vermont are built around their churches, why would the townsfolk hold their annual performance of A Christmas Carol on Xmas Eve (instead of the night before)?

This is the only way I can sensibly work out the timeline in my head. Especially given the earliness of sunsets in wintertime New England!

This movie, & series is probably the best out there for Christmas!! I am excited to see the third installment when it comes out in a few weeks!! This series has it all, comedy, some wondering & most of all heart!! Heart is what movies have been lacking from Hollywood really, & originality!! Im not going to ruin anything for anyone who hasnt seen theses movie but I will say this, I cry every time I see these first two movies. I actually own this & the first on dvd. I am one that really doesnt listen to reviews because a lot of people get PAID to give reviews, (if you understand my meaning). So when someone says after they try to bash others reviews that they are not bias or anything like that, you ignore them!! Those are bias because they are paid to post reviews on places like this & rooten tomatoes!! I do give honest reviews & a lot of mine have been negative!! Just see these movies & decide for yourself!!

After the first two episodes, this series, in my case, it is so familiar than, against the not empathy with Hallmark Christmas romance, I admitt, I love it. For performances of actors, for its spirit, for the twist and predactibility, for warm air and for cold obstacles, for the lovely family portrait, for beginners and for solutions. And, sure, for the inn. So, last piece of a seductive story, proposing not exactly a soap opera version but a nice story about love, hope and new start in life. Together.

I feel that they missed an opportunity here. It was really boring and not at all a sparkling christmas wedding. The secret uncle angle could have been much more as well. Perhaps Im a bit biased because Ive been watching so many christmas movies. I didnt feel it four this movie and tuned out several times.

The performances are OK (although the male lead looks a bit bored), its nicely filmed, but its very tame, nothing exciting happens, and everyone is overly nice. Id recommend it to anyone looking for an afternoon doze.
