  • Here is another piece of trivia for you about Father of the Bride (’91). Actress Cindy Williams aka Shirley of Laverne & Shirley owns the film rights to the book the movie was based on. She purchased the film rights while she worked on her iconic sitcom in the late 1970s and knew it was only a matter of time before Hollywood would want to remake the movie.

  • BD WONG is great in it too! … This was one of the first gay friends couple movies I recall that didn’t draw attention to it. Short had his own sidekick which gave value to both characters that they were just that… characters 🚫not stereotypes🚫 which at the time seemed like something new. Props to the writers/actors.
