Is Punta Cana cheaper than Puerto Plata?

Puerto Plata is cheaper because 1) its near the back-packer oriented areas of the north coast; 2) most of the resorts there are older than those in Punta Cana; 3) Punta Cana has better marketing and an airport that is privately owned; and 4) therefore, the law of supply and demand.

I think Iberostar has a great product, and I love their other resorts. I havent been to the one at Costa Dorada, but they do have remarkably consistent resorts. Secrets Excellence is more expensive because its more upscale. Its as smple as that. But even the Iberostar resorts in Punta Cana are a bit more expensive than Costa Dorada. I cant speak to the beaches at the Puerto Plata resorts, but the beaches in Punta Cana are outstanding.

Great, thanks for the info. Ive seen pictures of both areas beaches and Punta Canas do seem more beautiful.

What is the cheapest month to go to Dominican Republic?

If youre looking for the cheapest flights to Punta Cana, its best to book your tickets during the off-season. This includes May through September and January through March. During these months, airlines typically reduce their fares due to lower flight demand as tourism slows down during this period. Keep an eye on airline websites or sign up for their newsletters to get notifications about discounts or special offers.

You may also want to consider booking your tickets several weeks in advance since last-minute trips often result in higher prices.

When it comes to finding cheap accommodations, June and July are usually the best months. The weather is still warm and sunny during this time; however, there is less of a tourist presence, so hotels will sometimes offer steep discounts to attract more guests. Other than that, midweek stays—Monday through Thursday—are cheaper than weekend stays as they tend to be less popular with travelers who can only take short trips away from home or work commitments.

  • I like the Aqua Hotel & Resort. I would like to know the quality of the food at the restaurants is it quality food. I do not care for the buffet and all that bland quantity and sugar laden. Also I want the hotel to have privacy in the shower and the rest of the bathroom since I would not be travelling alone. I would be travelling with my senior citizen mother. Is the beach raked from all that algae in order to swim in a clean and clear water. Is the pool salt water and for adults. What type of entertainment is available at night perhaps piano/bar lounge and/or adult club. Is there a full Spa on the grounds and gimnasium with free weights and machines. I really like what I saw but need these questions answered also this is a true 5 star or better resort.

  • Worst resort ever so dirty, the food was disgusting and no hygiene at all!! I checked in with my family and checked out hours later. The pool water was slimly, the buffet at no options, had to wait in a huge line just to get breakfast. The bedroom was dusty and dirty,. It was a true nightmare🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
