Is Park’s Marriage Contract worth watching?
Korean Drama The Story of Parks Marriage Contract is a fantasy, time travel romantic comedy.
The drama has a great start, with an interesting female lead who is delightful to watch. It also has a fun story, with enough light and fluffy moments to keep things entertaining. The comedy part was great as well. And even though there were some cheesy moments and overused tropes, they were nicely embedded in the story and they didnt feel too cliche.
The second half of the drama was, on the other hand, rather boring. The ending was well handled, sure, but they added too much unnecessary drama just to keep things emotional. That is why the conclusion was rushed.

Is Park’s marriage contract happy ending?
And, sure enough, after many, many days of waiting by the crepe myrtle tree (which he now owns because he bought the whole hotel), Yeon-woo appears before Tae-ha and tells him that his prayers changed her fate and brought her to him. Reunited, they get married for real and presumably live happily ever after.
So how do I feel about this dual sad-happy ending? Well, in case it wasnt already apparent: Im not a fan. The reality did not live up to the hype, because the writers backed themselves into a corner that they could not escape. From the beginning, the drama emphasized that Yeon-woo must return to the past. At first, she wanted to return to rectify wrongs and save her parents, but after falling in love, the want became a need when Tae-has heart condition magically got worse — supposedly because of her mere presence in the future.
With the stakes riding so high, we were led to believe that Yeon-woos return would have a significant impact on not only the past, but the future as well — except it didnt. In 2023, aside from her grave disappearing, there were no changes made to the future. The Kang family seemingly retained political power and influence despite the absence of the virtuous woman award (which we were previously led to believe would save their familys reputation), and a scandalous murder attempt. At the very least, Yeon-woos actions in the past should have altered the Kang familys fate so that all the players werent reborn to live out the same makjang tragedy.

So eho do yall think threw her in the well?? Tae-Ha’s grandfather is kinda suspish. I think the stepmother killed the Joseon Tae-Ha and the grandpa killed Yron-Yoo and that’s why her virtuous woman stone thingy is in the current grandpa’s backyard. He could also be responsible for the current issues happening at the company like the leaked designs, models getting cancelled etc… I could be wrong. What’s y’all’s take??
