The traditional way to wear a wedding ring is to wear it on the left ring finger, followed by the engagement ring. However, this tradition can be uncomfortable for some, especially those with an active lifestyle. To avoid this, consider wearing the wedding band on the traditional ring finger, in the order received in which the diamond ring goes on top and the wedding band on top.
In Western cultures, it is customary to wear the wedding band first, “closest to the heart,” with the engagement ring on top, on the finger of the left hand. This can be uncomfortable for some, especially those with a very active lifestyle. If you choose to wear a ring on your middle finger, make sure it is small and thin.
Stacking is a popular way to sport your engagement and wedding rings on the same finger. If you want to follow the tradition of wearing your wedding ring closest to your heart, place it at the bottom of the stack toward the base of the knuckle.
When planning out your wedding ring set, always keep your engagement ring top of mind as it is the first ring you received. When deciding what to do with your wedding ring after your spouse passes away, one popular choice is to keep wearing it in their honor.
The correct way to wear your wedding rings depends on several factors, including your location and preferences. Some couples prefer wearing their engagement ring on their left ring finger and their wedding band on their right ring finger, while others prefer wearing them on their right ring finger.

Traditionally, the groom-to-be purchases the brides engagement ring. While he can certainly do this on his own, many brides-to-be prefer to assist with ring selection by either showing the groom pictures of ones they like, telling close friends what they want, or by going ring shopping together. While this will limit the surprise factor, the groom can be assured that he bought the exact ring she wanted. After all, she is the one wearing it, and eternal love lasts a long time!
While the groom typically pays for the brides engagement and wedding rings, the bride typically pays for the grooms wedding ring. Many couples simply include the cost of wedding rings in their budget, and share the expense.
