Heather Skold, a well-known news personality and anchor at KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs, is currently engaged to her boyfriend Chris Heisser. Skold, a three-time Regional Edward R. Murrow and three-time Emmy award-winning journalist, has been a mainstay on the local broadcasting scene since 2007. She has also received awards for her work at KRDO NewsChannel 13. Before finding her happily ever after with Chris, Skold was married to musician Richie Sambora, 63, known as the lead guitarist for the rock band Bon Jovi. Skold has been a part of the military family since the loss of one son, but has gained 20 others. After more than a decade away, Heather is happy to be back in her home state anchoring the weekday newscasts at KRDO NewsChannel 13. She grew up in Colorado and is happy to be back. She has also worked in Wheaton, IL, Grand Junction, CO, and Boise, ID. She has covered national tragedies, including the 9/11 attacks, the Waldo Canyon Fire, the Black Forest Fire, and the Aurora Theater Shootings. She has also celebrated with breast cancer survivors, ridden in a B-17 bomber with a WWII veteran, trained with firefighters for agility competitions, and anchored the Presidential Debates and National Political Conventions. She says the best part of her job is talking to people. She says it matters to tell your story accurately.
