Lilies symbolize those who have risen. This beautiful passage from the Song of Songs was written for Mary. The lover wants to be with the beloved, and they are close. Mary trusted God from the beginning and knew her Son well. She tells the reader where he is so that the reader can seek him, find him, and share in that tender union with him.
