Who does Miyo end up with?
Miyo Saimori has found a place where she feels safe, warm, and loved: by Kiyoka Kudos’ side as his fiancée. Miyo grew up with an abusive family. She never thought she could find a place where she would be safe. She thought that when they threw her out to be Kudos’s bride, she would never hear from them again. She was wrong. They’re not done with her. They’re angry that she’s happy with her betrothed, who is of a higher rank and status than her half-sisters’ fiancé. Now tied up and thrown into her old home, she waits for her sisters and stepmothers to judge her. Meanwhile, Kudo has heard of Miyo’s capture and is determined to get her back. The third volume of My Happy Marriage is the thickest so far, at 224 pages. It concludes the story of Miyo vs. her abusive family and starts the next chapter: being engaged to Kudo and starting their life together. For light novel readers, this means that Volume 3 of the manga includes the end of Volume 1 and the start of Volume 2 of the light novels. This is interesting for manga readers because the ending of the first story arc seems to show that we’re moving away from the Cinderella-inspired part of the story. We’ll see what happens after “happily ever after.” We’ll also see more of the supernatural side of the story that has been mentioned but not focused on. You can decide whether to continue from this point. Even though many main characters have been written out by the halfway point, there is more story to tell. I’ll look at the characters instead of the story and see how they’ve changed. Let’s start with Kudo. We haven’t seen much of his background or character. We know he’s a high-authority gifted user from dialogue, but we’ve never seen it. In Volume 3, we finally see why people call him a “demon” and one of the most powerful users in their world. It’s satisfying to see him stand up to the people who made Miyos’ life a living hell. I also liked how Kudos deals with Miyos’s kidnappers in the first arc. He has the power to go into their home and find Miyos, but he doesn’t. He asks the family why they’re doing what they’re doing, giving them a chance to stop. He only uses his power to save Miyo when they attack him. Kudo is more interesting than your typical stoic prince.
Is arata bad in happy marriage?
Personality. Arata seems kind, but he’s actually cold and impersonal. He doesn’t care much about his assigned subject of protection. He cared about her because she had the Gift, which was important to the Usuba family. He sees the Usuba estate as a reflection of himself. The facade is well kept, but there is no worth at all. He’s a good guy on the outside, but on the inside, he’s hollow. He feels empty without a reason to live. He wants to become a proper man of society, but he doesn’t want people to know he’s lacking. He keeps up his external self to hide this. He’s crafted a personality, first impression, and appearance to be liked by others. He’s just faking it. He thinks this makes him seem important. He smiles a lot, but it’s not a mean smile. It’s a kind smile. People like him because of it. Even when he’s rude, it’s hard to tell if he’s just being mean, testing people, or if there’s something deeper going on. His smile hides everything. The more impressive he becomes, the emptier he feels. Arata is the son of the Usuba family’s current leader and heir to the family.5. Arata lived with his paternal grandfather Yoshirou Usuba at the Usuba estate to learn how to use his Gift. The family started to decline shortly after he arrived. There used to be more people and furniture, but they slowly disappeared. The final nail in the coffin was twenty years ago when the family’s midsized trading company, Tsuruki Trading, was on the brink of bankruptcy.
📹 Anime’s Cinderella Gets Married off to the Villain?! – My Happy Marriage Episode 1 Review
Miyo’s abusive family deems her worthless – but together with her powerful husband-to-be, her true self and hidden powers slowly …
The scene where miyo step mother was extra satisfying because miyo step mother destroyed all of miyo’s biological mothers things The only thing miyo had left was her mother’s comb Her step mother literally breaks it in front of her, breaking something she cared so much and has sentimental value to her It’s so satisfying to see the house burn and the mother scream in agony because now SHE’S perusal everything she cares so much about being destroyed infront or her now, their home, their possessions and their livelihood being destroyed infront of her
You literally said everything I’ve been wanting to say about characters like Koji, Kaya and the dad. I truly believe that Kaya and Koji are redeemable characters. From the first episode till now I never hated Koji I completely understood that he felt powerless against his father and he had been conditioned to be the obedient son and stay in his lane. I love the moment when he snaps but even in that moment what Koji needs to do is clear he needs to have a plan he needs to gain more power societally and physically he needs to be able to stand up without getting shut down and I’m curious what more we’re getting with him. I really really hope that Koji and Kudo’s actions toward Kaya is the start of a change for her. She is a mold of her mother and I want her to be fixed. Miyo’s defiance was exceptional and I was like can this girl catch a break Anyway this episode was amazing
03:35 – I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but Mios Dad married Sumi for politics/power while Kanako was his lover at the time that he actually cared for, unable to go against his family he married Sumi only to go back to his former lover as soon as she passed, and of course married her and made a child with her, Kaya. That’s one of the reasons Kanako hates Mio so much, cause in her she sees the woman that took her man away from her. He was so happy his old woman accepted him back that he looked passed her ugliness inside and the things she did to Mio. I don’t care if you don’t love a woman that gave birth to your child but your child is your responsibility. Before her death, Sumi asked Shinichi (her dad) not to abandon Mio and his answer was “If this house had nothing to do with special abilities, I would’ve loved her”. He referred to Mio as “that thing” multiple times. Mios dad is just a lowly coward and scum, nothing else.
Wasn’t too happy with Kaya this episode but I do also think that she will have a redemption arc as well. That fact that even with everything she’s doing that she still refers to Miyo as a her Big Sister is a tell that she’s not that far gone. Kaya’s interaction with Miyo reminds me a bit of Bakugo and Deku (lol) where the main bullying point is that Miyo doesn’t have spirit-sight (is quirkless) and so useless. Once Miyo starts showing something on that end it likely will uproot opinions from those that look down on her.
I would not be surprised if Kaya got a redemption arc because now she’s going to get like her just dessert. She’s actually going to be like working as a servant for that other family. That’s more powerful than her and apparently there are super strict family according to the MC so she may end up having all that pride she has beaten out of her by the time we see her back again which may not happen until the very end of the series but I do hope that we see her again and I hope we get her redemption arc actually have her POV of it
All i felt was rage the whole first half of the episode lol. I even paused at one point so i could tell myself to breathe 😂 I understand Kaya is a product of her upbringing (just like Koji), but man it feels like she went past the threshold of redemption this episode. It’s gonna take a real emotional & EARNED redemption for me to accept it as satisfying for the story. I wanted Kudo to grab Kaya by the throat when he walked into that storehouse 😒
As powerful as Kudo is he doesn’t hold a candle to those of the past. When Kudo and Gordo were driving to the dinner party, In the light novel they talk about how technology has lessened supernatural powers and the appearance of grotesqueries. It was said that grotesqueries came when a lot of people had fears of the unknown. They would blame spirits on things they didn’t know, and that fear manifest itself. Supernatural powers are also waning due to that. Miyo and Koji’s families are on the verge of losing their prestige due to their waning powers. Thinking Miyo’s power may be to alter memories. Her bloodline is very hard to locate as they hide themselves in society.
I cant wait to see what abilities Miyo has, I bet she ends up being stronger than Kudo or at least complementary to each others strengths. Years of emotional warfare had stifled her spirit but she’s definitely going to have an awakening. Koji stayed quiet too long while the woman he actually loved was being abused..his loss. I agree, Kaya was raised to become a complete narcissist and no she can’t wrap her mind around how awful she is..there are people in this world like that.
too be honest i was thinking the same thing because i knew that kaya’s parents were to blame for her to be the way she is…because they always spoiled her and her mom was showering kaya with presents and compliments on how great she is because of her spirit sighting and if it wasn’t for that maybe kaya would’ve been a good sister towards mio…maybe next season once kaya has some life experience as a servant she will have some kind of redemption
Told ya, Kaya is not on the ” can fix her” list! This was a great episode to be honest. So far the best one. I don’t feel the father is on to the “keep her safe”; at least to me. I feel he doesn’t know the full extend of the scheme. But that is my thoughts. I think one of the best shows this season.
Well, that same argument for the redemption of Kaya, can also be made for Kanoko. Obviously Kanoko was made by her mother. This can go back all the way to Adam and Eve. Cain kills Able because of poor parenting? In fantasy and in real life everyone owns their own actions and one cannot justify themselves by blaming someone else. Ahh, the devil made me do it. Sorry. You did it. You own it. Totally. I realize you are speaking to plot, and how the story might have a redemption arc for Kaya, but if so why not a redemption arc for Konoko?
When doing research for this show, some clips of a live TV drama came up that were already a few months old, at least. So it looks like this already had a live adaptation before getting an anime adaptation. It looks promising so far… sure, it’s another take on Cinderella, with a few changes here and there, but if the characters are built up right, plus with a pretty good animation quality so far, I think this could be gem this season.
