  • Womanese Translation: “I can’t date men that know who I am because I can’t trick them into believing I’m worth more than I actually am. I’m a 48 year old boss babe cougar with alot of money and alot of past so the slim pickings has gotta much much slimmer. My roster of young energetic men is already set now I just need to catch 1 or 2 old beta rich men slipping so they can pay for everything cause mama is tired of reaching in her purse.”

  • Love how Joe tried to save Mel by shifting the topic to Ish and Ice outfit till Parks redirected em to the dating site topic. Lol. I caught it all in real time. Can’t say Joe ain’t looking out for his cast when chats get potentially uncomfortable for them, especially the new recruits. S/o to Joe for dat, I can’t be mad at it

  • Melissa is making things way harder for herself than it needs to be. Those dudes most likely not fanning out. They’re just making sure they’re not getting catfished and wasting their time. Or she’s so insecure about her past that she doesn’t want anyone that would recognize her. Both situations are foolish.

  • She’s speaking facts about a brain injury…I had a stroke and recovered fairly fast physically and bc “I did not look like” I had a stroke ppl could not understand that my brain was not functioning properly. It’s extremely hard and depressing being smart and beautiful ur whole life but now everything u knew has changed. I totally empathize with her and I really have to start extending her more grace on the pod bc I forget about her accident. This shit ain’t easy especially when u have an addictive personality 🤦🏾‍♀️

  • i love Melyssa so much… she gives you real talk, real person, real life and real . real. I can always connect to something that comes out of her mouth. This time around, what i connected with is when she said she doesn’t understand how she can be physically appealing to people but insecure within herself and how she cant reconcile the two.. That was so great… because often times i feel that way as well. Please get your own podcast back up Mel….. <3

  • Many times, biracial men and women have different experiences because beauty politics come into play. A “biracial aesthetic” is celebrated in the United States for women more so than it is for men, so mixed women can run into friction in black communities where black women feel past over time and time again for the “mixed girl”. – However, I don’t think Melissa Ford’s beauty is due to her looking mixed. She’s just real fine. I’m just saying, there’s a lot of layers to unpack with that conversation. Also, Black people in America have been effed over so many times that we need to know if you’re truly with us, or just cosplaying blackness when it benefits your image/bank account and then undermining us when we’re not around.

  • Everybody completely misses the point K-Dot was making about Drizzy’s blackness…Kendrick was speaking on BBL being a “small hat” aka Juuu and culture vulturing his way through the industry especially in ATL. ( check out Drizzy interview with Rosenberg on his “juuuish” upbringing…. He’s really NOT LIKE US

  • I didn’t find out M4 was half white until she was on Hollywood Unlocked and I was extremely shocked. She presents as a light skinned black women, I would have never gave her mixed. So it’s interesting to hear her not identify as a black women because I would bet my left titty that she does not benefit from white privilege because she is not white passing…still love her DOWN it’s just interesting to hear her take on it, even though I get where she’s coming from. She’d be singing in a completely different key if she and her parents grew up in America. Their experience would completely mold their identity, unfort..

  • Black people can have two Black parents and look more “mixed” than Melissa Ford. Most people would never question her racial makeup if she didn’t speak about it. She is an attractive woman but she’s not phenotypically similar to Drake or Whitney Alford, who has two Black parents. That conversation was a bit odd.

  • its always interesting listening to people talk about their role models or just the overall model of womanhood… i rarely hear ANYONE name someone outside of entertainment. why is that? as a kid, the women i grew up around were AMAZING like beautiful, smart AF, elegant, some VERY FKN funny… like people on tv were additions. Are our young girls really that starved for representation?

  • She is so beautiful and intelligent. But she’s also conflicted. She admits she may at least possibly have “commitment issues”, while also naming these attributes that normally men provide that she doesn’t need. And at the same time I remember different statements she’s made when they discuss different relationship issues that also conflict with what she’s said. But we all are conflicted in some way. I’ll be perusal her show when she starts again.

  • America makes race about what is seen. But, we are all mixed regardless of what our parents look like. As a Black woman, with my skin tone, I know I am directly mixed through my father’s grandmother (a product of rape). However, that side of my family is deleted. So, I don’t really know what that mixture was. Whatever the case, if someone looks at me or my father, we would probably be cobsidered mixed because of our skin tone, albeit we are lighter than Melyssa Ford. But, in America, we are seen as Black regardless. Whatever the case, there is no pure race.

  • “I’m really nice!!” Meanwhile she threw a temper tantrum raging and throwing stuff because she was mad Buffie the body was on the same cover as her and she felt Buffie didn’t deserve to be there “I’m really nice!!!” Meanwhile she made her cohost work for free and didn’t pay her money she owed her and then fired her because she was more popular than her
