Were Gareth and Matthew a couple?
We see that Fiona (Kristin Scott-Thomas) and Tom (James Fleet) are brother and sister and very wealthy and Gareth (Simon Callow) and Matthew (John Hannah) are a gay couple.
Over the course of five social occasions, a committed bachelor must consider the notion that he may have discovered love.
In Britain, slightly bumbling and always tardy Charles (Hugh Grant) and his closest group of friends seem always to be attending weddings, but are never the bride nor groom, and as such, each, with the exception of gay couple Gareth (Simon Callow) and Matthew (John Hannah), is looking for love. At the wedding of their friends, Angus (Timothy Walker) and Laura (Sara Crowe), where Charles is acting as best man, Charles meets an American woman named Carrie (Andie MacDowell). For him, its love at first sight. She too is attracted to him. Although they spend a memorable evening together, thats all it ends up being. Over three more successive weddings – some of the brides and grooms who are very near and dear to Charles heart – and one unfortunate funeral, Charles runs into Carrie, but something always seems to prevent the two of them from getting together. He also runs into a plethora of old girlfriends, one of whom he may believe is really the one he was meant to end up with, especially if Carrie seems to remain unobtainable. Will Charles settle for who in his heart is second best, or will fate finally bring Charles and Carrie together?—Huggo.
Charming but insecure Charles keeps entering bad relationships and attending other, usually rich and posh peoples weddings, repeatedly as best man, yet keeps oversleeping and messing things up, even forgetting the rings, luckily perfectly-organized gay couple Mathew and Gareth -untul the latters fatal cardiac crisis during a grand wedding- help out, while other can go wrong even worse, like trainee-priest Geralds unforgettable verbal slip-ups. Still Charles feels lucky when he thus meets American journalist Caroline Carrie, who is in for non-committal sex, but out of the country or engaged to another before Charles can make up his mind to properly move on her. Charless deaf kid brother David gives him the courage to stand up for true love when it seems lost.—KGF Vissers.
Are Four Weddings scripted?
Four Weddings is a TV show where four real brides attend each others weddings and rate them across a variety of factors to determine who had the best wedding. The winner gets an extravagant once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon for herself and her new spouse. Despite the premise, the show isnt catty and isnt in any way scripted, which means you get all the feel-good fun of the weddings without the drama. The result is just a strangely addictive show, which is why its drawn such a loyal fan base!
Regular viewers of the Four Weddings show on TLC will notice some recurring trends. Brides-to-be, take note: here is what to do (and not to do) on your big day if you want guests to rate your wedding among the top events theyve attended:
Some weddings include special elements that reflect the bride and grooms personalities or tell part of the story of how theyve met. These are almost always well-received because they provide a sweet personalized dimension to the wedding. (In fact, the only time weve seen this backfire was when a couple decided to get married at a venue across from a major airport because they met while traveling for work, and the venue itself wasnt very inspiring because it was just a floor of an office building.) By including personal elements, it makes the wedding feel less “cookie cutter” and more meaningful.
What is the world record for the most people at a wedding?

Productionedit. Writingedit. Screenwriter Richard Curtiss own experiences as a wedding attendee inspired Four Weddings and a Funeral.7 According to Curtis he began writing the script at age 34, after realising he had attended 65 weddings in an 11-year period. At one wedding he was propositioned by a fellow guest, but he turned her down and forever regretted it; accordingly he based the origin of Charles and Carries romance on that situation.7.

Why did four weddings end?
EXCLUSIVE: Channel 4 has abruptly cancelled its Four Weddings reboot in a move that has had the industry speculating over the state of the networks finances amidst declining ad revenues and an economic downturn.
Deadline understands around two-dozen people were due to start production on Four Weddings shortly but were informed earlier this week that the show had been stood down, leaving the production team blindsided. ITV Studios-backed MultiStory Media was producing the reboot and it was commissioned several weeks ago, with production due to take place over the summer. Freelancers have instead been given a compensation package for a two-week notice period, we understand.
Four Weddings aired on Sky for four seasons around a decade ago and sold to several territories around the world including TLC in the U.S. The Come Dine with Me-style show follows four brides or grooms attending each others weddings, as they rate them on dress, venue, food and overall experience. One particularly famous episode featured Steps star Faye Tozers marriage to Michael Smith.
Is Notting Hill a sequel to Four Weddings?
The film Notting Hill, starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, was released in late Spring 1999, the “sequel” to the enormously popular Four Weddings and a Funeral, both of which were written and produced by Richard Curtis.
Notting Hill had much in common with its predecessor. According to Richard Curtis, it seems that there are certain roles that must exist in a film:
– the bumbling Englishman (Hugh Grant in both)– the glamourous American (Julia Roberts and Andie MacDowell)– the dim-but-ever-so-sweet gentleman– the wise, slightly more serious woman– the completely kooky-in-a-nice-way girl.
Who does Carrie marry in four weddings?
Gareth and Matthew are easily the scene-stealers in Four Weddings and a Funeral; the gregarious couple is simply delightful during the opening moments in Somerset, and it gets even funnier once Gareth decides to try pairing each of his friends off amidst Carries wedding to Hamish. The audience has come to rely on Gareths advice, and thus its even more heartbreaking when the titular “funeral” is revealed to be his. Its an emotional gut punch that forces all the characters, particularly Charles, to wonder what true love really is, and if its always doomed to end in tragedy. It also introduces the idea that “true love” and “marriage” arent necessarily the same thing; Gareth and Matthew were never officially married, but was there any other couple that was more loyal and committed to one another?
When audiences reflect on Four Wedding and a Funeral, its rarely the interactions between Grant and MacDowell that they remember. Grants best scene in the film, when hes punched out by his bride at their own wedding, happens when Carrie is off-screen; the joyous ending montage serves as a catalog of everyones experiences rather than just the central couple. Its a skill that Curtis has mastered within his ensemble pieces, as you are always going to find one storyline thats less intriguing than the others. In Four Weddings and a Funeral, that one just so happens to be the seemingly central relationship.
Has anyone ever gotten a 10 on four weddings?
- The lowest score a bride has given for overall experience is a 2, in season 1, season 3, and season 4.
- Conversely, two brides have earned a 10 from one guest bride for overall experience, one in season 4 and one in season 7.
- In terms of total scores, the lowest is 40 out of 120 (in season 1, episode 5), and the highest is 108 out of 120 (in season 9, episode 3).
Subverted in season 10, as all the brides involved were actually friends.;
Danielle: I dont think Im hard to please, just do it my way.
What happens to Fiona at the end of Four Weddings and a Funeral?
Kristin Scott Thomas, who played the hapless Fiona, never noticed by Hugh Grant, does better in the end credits where she is shown in faked photos marrying King Charles III.
The list of credits is presented as Cast (almost in order of appearance).

Michael Kuhn is credited as big cheese. This is one of 11 films where he is given the same credit title.
📹 Sinead O’Connor – 4th and Vine
Sinead O’Connor – 4th and Vine The new single 4th and Vine, taken from the album ‘How About I Be Me (And You Be You)?
I’m sad to read that a lot of people realized only now how talented she was, and how each of her albums are so good. I miss her so much .. I saw her a few times on stage, memorable each time. Since 1987, the year of her first album I like her music, her honesty, she was herself and speak what she got in her mind… it’s really really sad to think I’ll never see her on stage again ..
I remember when she tore up the picture of the Pope. I clapped and admired her convictions. I grew up Catholic and denounced it when I became a young adult. Good for her for having the balls to do what she felt. Unapologetic….LEGENG!! Unfortunately, her life was marred by life changing moments. I will and forever be a huge fan. The Lion and Cobra…EPIC. Prince abused her and good for her for saying so. So she made him more famous for Nothing Compares To U, but she OWNED that song. Such a beautiful soul may she rest in peace with her son.
A beautifully uplifting song and a brilliantly produced article – just the article I would have made for this song. Sinead may have sometimes appeared intense, negative, and unhappy on screen, but her joyous performance here shows an infectious warmth and sense of fun. A beautiful, honest, and natural human being.
I only started listening to her properly last year, became obsessed with her renditions of hymns and old Irish songs. No idea why I didn’t start listening to her albums. Certainly I fell in love with her! anyway I like a lot of Beyonce songs and that sort of stuff, but I feel that stuff was jollied along into by a shape of what women are supposed to be being, well not foisted, but continually put to me that that is the cultural way to go. Corporate stylings and obscene wealth as a response to oppression. Then there’s darling Sinead looking like goddess sat in a pub singing with old men and crumbs on the table. and all I see is oppression turned into love. She’s written works that will live in the hall of Irish classics. It is a tragedy that she couldn’t stay with us, a tragedy to think of her terribly sad and alone in that moment no matter how many people loved her dearly
uh huh… I remember this track, one of my favorites from that album… what a great article! She gave what she was supposed to. I knew she was in a downward spiral after her son committed suicide but I assumed her friends and family would initiate a successful intervention and treatment plan. I still don’t know how she died… it seems they are going to shroud it in mystery and I hope it was not a suicide. People seem to only know here from the Prince song, but her albums always had 3 or 4 killer cuts. She also did guest appearances with other artists. If you love her Irishy songs check out “Factory Girl”; if you like her punkish rocker side you won’t hear a track more erotic than “Put Your Hands on Me”. She was, in all respects, a genuine artistic fireball. at peace, at last…
This song makes me feel this is what she wanted. for her life.for her past. She truly wanted to be happy and free of pain. But she spent her life longing for love from her mother that she never got and the pain from that never went away. I feel a lot of that pain when you watch her last articles. She was so lost, sad, broken and felt alone.i hope her spirit is filled with happiness, love, peace and closure. ❤

Gods’ speed Sinead, voice of an angel, not perfect.. but who is. The world is less for your passing, but you lived and inspired and thrilled millions of people.. a life well lived even if cut short. Best wishes to her, she has been such an inspiration to so many people, she is a national treasure now, or would be if she could keep from ranting on social media. Poor thing. Or Poor little rich kid.

Thanks for not insulting me for questioning the authorship. Sinead is talented no question, but I noticed that when artists hit the bigtime they get the benefit of an army of unknown writers/producers/lyricists etc etc.. (eg little know englishman “rod temperton” wrote all the hits to MJ thriller album; –even the vocal melody lines. Hell i think he even came up with album title) 4th and vine goes way beyond sinead’s ability imo. id be interested to know exactly how the song came together
