Why Is Marriage Seen As An Achievement?

Marriage has become a public marker of a successful union, providing women with the opportunity to display their love and companionship to family and friends. However, the question of whether marriage is an achievement is often raised, with some arguing that it is an accomplishment. A “pure relationship” marriage emphasizes self-discovery and reveals limitations and weaknesses. Historian Nancy Cott argues that marriage has been viewed as the bedrock of healthy families and communities since colonial times.

Marriage can be an accomplishment for those who have overcome obstacles and hardships, but what constitutes an achievement in a marriage is to make it an absolute success, keeping the romance alive and caring. While there are no absolute achievements in being married, the actual success comes into play not when the man gets down on one knee or when the couple stands at the altar and says “I.”

Experts say marriage is already a free gift from God, with legal and financial advantages such as tax benefits, inheritance rights, access to healthcare and insurance, and the ability to make medical decisions for a spouse in case of incapacitation. A successful marriage can be happy or unhappy, but it is not an achievement.

In today’s society, women are balancing much more than just getting married. A successful marriage is an accomplishment, but it is not the end goal. Marriage is about patience, restraint, loyalty, respect, love, honor, togetherness, intimacy, compromise, and above all communication.

Marriage should never be put in a higher regard than academic and professional successes that women work hard to achieve. Everyone deserves to feel love and happiness, and marriage is only an achievement if you marry the right person.

Why is marriage an achievement?

Marriage can be an achievement. People have different ideas of what it means to achieve. Some people achieve by getting an education or a good job. Others achieve by marrying a rich man or having a family. Here are different ways marriage can be an achievement: Some people feel like they’ve made it when they get married before their friends or before 30. There’s no right age to get married. Staying married for many years is an achievement. Dealing with problems and challenges is hard. Having a purpose in marriage is important. No. Some women can fulfill purpose without a partner. Others need one. Here’s an example. Mary Njoku is my favorite example of success after marriage. She had the vision and experience, but couldn’t execute until after she married Jason Njoku — PLATFORM.

Is Getting married considered a milestone?

Marriage is just a milestone. It’s not an achievement. Everyone deserves love and happiness, but hatred and bitterness are not something I want to support. You can love someone for life without getting married. We all deserve to feel supported in making this decision.

Are married people more successful?

More good news for the lonely. It’s well-known that married people earn more than singles. Married people earn more than their peers, but the difference varies by gender and education. It can range from 4.5% to 32.6%. This gap exists for both men and women, but is greater for men. Theories about this gap focus on the individual. Maybe the traits that make someone earn more also make them a better partner, so they’re more likely to be in a long-term relationship. Or maybe being married makes men more productive because women still do most of the housework, so men can focus on their careers. The researchers found that these factors contributed to the gap, but they weren’t the main reason for the difference in wages between single and married people. The researchers looked at how being with someone else and their income affects how people look for work.

Is marriage an achievement according to the Bible?

“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each others faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” – Colossians 3:12-15.

If you were like me, you wished you had the answers to a test before you walked into the classroom? Some classes were simply harder than others and having the answers would have simplified things. In college, a professor would typically give you some insights, or at least some parameters before a test. But even with some basic guidelines concerning the test, more often than not, a problem or question would appear on the test that you were not prepared for. It soon occurred to me that the professor did not intend for the overview of the test to be comprehensive. It was simply not possible to include everything from the required readings, class notes, and lectures in the capsulation of the test.

The same is true with the relationships. The Bible gives the foundation for all our relationships. It is an effective guide. But there are some things on the test I did not learn until marriage or our relationship began. But I think I can give you some answers that would help you pass the marriage/relationship test.

Is getting married an accomplishment?

You don’t need a brain, a car, or special skills to get married. You just have to want to get married. But getting into X school, graduating with Y degree, and landing Z job takes work. Being married is an accomplishment. Three months ago, Craig asked me to marry him. I cried with joy. It was a big moment in my life. Now I have a ring, I can say what I really think. My opinion hasn’t changed since I got engaged. Getting engaged and married isn’t an accomplishment. Ladies, hear me out before you dismiss me.

Why is marriage seen as important?

But because marriage is a partnership in the whole of life, backed up by family, community, and religious values, marriage can do what economic partnerships dont: give a greater sense of meaning and purpose to life (a reason to exercise or cut back on booze, work harder, and to keep plugging even in the middle of those times when the marriage may not feel gratifying at all). Married people are both responsible for and responsible to another human being, and both halves of that dynamic lead the married to live more responsible, fruitful, and satisfying lives. Marriage is a transformative act, changing the way two people look at each other, at the future, and at their roles in society. And it changes the way significant others—from family to congregation to insurance companies and the IRS—look at and treat that same couple. Sexual fidelity, an economic union, a parenting alliance, the promise of care that transcends day-to-day emotions: all these are what give a few words mumbled before a clergyman or judge the power to change lives.

What proportion of unhappily married couples who stick it out stay miserable? The latest data show that within five years, just 12 percent of very unhappily married couples who stick it out are still unhappy; 70 percent of the unhappiest couples now describe their marriage as very or quite happy.

Just as good marriages go bad, bad marriages go good. And they have a better chance of doing so in a society that recognizes the value of marriage than one that sings the statistically dubious joys of divorce.

Is marriage an achievement or commitment?

Couples usually have a big wedding. Some couples even borrow money to make their wedding special. Many people spend more on their wedding than on their marriage. A wedding is just one day, but marriage is forever! A solid foundation is key to a successful marriage. You have to build this foundation before you get married. This article is for those who are not married. It’s hard to be single when everyone expects you to get married by a certain age. That’s why I’m writing this article. It’s okay to be single and enjoy it. Some people are married but don’t know why. Some married people want to be single, and some single people want to be married.

Is it better to be single or married?

Single people are less active and eat worse than married people. Married people have social and emotional support, are less likely to drink too much, and have better economic conditions than single people. Not all romantic relationships are satisfying. If you’re in a loving and supportive relationship, you’ll be healthier. But when marriages and long-term relationships end, the stress can have a negative effect on health. If romantic relationships are bad, stress can affect a person’s well-being. There’s no evidence that staying in a bad relationship is good for you. Research shows that social connection is important. Our social relationships affect our mental and physical health, behavior, and risk of death. Good relationships keep you healthy. Love is good.

Is marriage relevant in today’s society?

Marriage can be a good thing, leading to happy families across generations if done right. If both partners want a good marriage, it has a good chance of working. But divorce and remarriage rates will go up. So will live-in relationships and single parents. Maybe it’s time to legalize and regulate prostitution. In a busy modern society, different models need to coexist. The views in this article are the author’s own and don’t reflect Fair Observer’s policy.

  • I believe finding a soulmate is an achievement but not marriage per say, if you married to someone that gives you peace and connects with your inner being then that qualifies as an achievement. I say this because to find your soulmate you need to be able to “See them”, you need to reject certain things, you need to accept some, you need to make a conscious decision to find you before you find them and importantly you must find peace in them ❤️ So if your goal in life like many is to find your perfect match and you are able to recognise them when the time comes, then you have walked the walked and attained Gods highest favor So for me, I’ve seen many people asleep and not able to see beyond the physical things, blocked by traditional, cultural, money, ego and even religious logic, that when they meet their soulmate they might reject them. So yes marriage is an achievement when you are married to your soulmate

  • And again let me say this, alot of our women especially from Nigeria to be precise thinks that when they are married they are better than the ones not yet married or the ones that have decided they won’t marry/marry again, this whole thing is all about personal views and how you carry it on your head.

  • First of all I want to personally appreciate @zara for your opinion but I also want to kinda say when next your doing vid like this one learn to compose yourself well, dont get me wrong but I feel you abit too busy with your hands and your voice is much louder and talk when you are ask and don’t interrupt when you are not ask to speak or when someone else is been ask to speak… and lastly like the other guy on blue said,as far as this earth is concerned everything is structured!!! I know few ladies today that feels their joy is not complete because they don’t have a man over their lives and also some that feels extremely happy that they finally married and I also know some that feel or think they can’t have a child without a summer by that I mean without married so my darling sis I stand to disagree with you abit that marriage is an achievement, indeed marriage is an achievement…if you have stuff worked out for you on a plater fine and good but alot us out here work so hard to have it yet God has already structured it. I come in peace and I love this show.
