Why Use A Wedding Planner?

A wedding planner is a professional who helps couples plan their wedding day and ensures that the event runs smoothly. They juggle the roles of designer, legal counsel, budget manager, coordinator, and more, all while helping couples pull together their vision. Hiring a wedding planner can help make the wedding of your dreams a reality, as they will ultimately be playing a key role in one of the most important days of your life.

A wedding planner essentially juggles the roles of designer, legal counsel, budget manager, coordinator, and so much more. They take care of all your needs and take the stress out of wedding planning. Many couples are having second thoughts on hiring a wedding planner, but it is a great decision to hire someone who is knowledgeable, experienced, and gets exactly what they want.

Some benefits of hiring a wedding planner include saving money, staying in communication with your wedding professionals, and ensuring you enjoy the journey. A good wedding planner has valuable years of experience that will ultimately save time and possibly money. They can schedule appointments, deal with vendors, and work through the nitty-gritty issues of your day.

A good wedding planner serves as a project manager for your wedding day, overseeing and bringing together all the behind-the-scenes elements for the day. They can help with budgets, supplier searches, flowers, dress shopping, and take you to meet suppliers.

A good wedding planner also serves as a mediator, ensuring you don’t work on your wedding day. Working with a professional luxury wedding planner instead of directly with the bride or groom or their parents can keep things streamlined and stress-free for you and your partner.

Why wedding planner is important

What does a wedding planner cover?

A planner is a ‘project manager for your wedding day, overseeing and bringing together all the behind-the-scenes elements for the day. Your planner is responsible for sourcing and managing elements such as your venue, your celebrant, your caterer, entertainment, photography, videography, transport, accommodation, hair and makeup and cake amongst many other things. Then theres the personal side of the role which is one of the parts I love the most! As a wedding planner I work with gorgeous couples at one of the most exciting times of their lives, acting as a sounding board for their ideas, a source of inspiration, comfort, reassurance and if Im honest, sometimes an open ear if they just need to have a rant about their family or in-laws!

On the flip side, a wedding stylist works on the visual side of the day, bringing together all the elements to make your day look incredible.

The process of styling a wedding can be just as technical and involved as the planning side. A stylist needs to use their visual attention to detail, their creative eye and their talent for event design to create the look and feel youre after. This includes creating your mood board and your full styling blueprint as well as sourcing all the visual elements needed to bring your day to life. Were talking furniture, linen, candles, cutlery, crockery, glassware, napkins, menus, place cards, signage and of course florals. Your stylist will then oversee the set up and pack down of the wedding on the day so you, your family and friends dont need to do a thing!

What is the purpose of a wedding planner?

A wedding planner helps plan a wedding from start to finish. They help couples plan their wedding. A wedding planner provides many services. A “wedding coordinator” is a month-of or day-of professional wedding consultant. These people don’t play much of a role in the wedding design, budget, or choice of vendors. They act as a go-between for the vendors and venue. They also make a schedule for the wedding day and are there to manage it. A certified wedding planner has completed an educational program and has professional experience. The certification is granted by Longevity Universitys Wedding Planning Institute, which offers courses through several colleges.

Do you need both a wedding planner and a coordinator?

Planners handle every detail from start to finish, while coordinators focus on the logistics of the day. Planners charge more, but coordinators are less expensive and only involved in the final stages. Hire a planner if you need help with everything, or a coordinator if youve done most of the planning and just need someone to execute the final details.

In the end, the decision to choose one over the other will depend on your specific needs and budget. So, take some time to evaluate what you need from a wedding professional and choose the one that best aligns with your vision for the big day.

How necessary is a wedding coordinator?

There are a lot of people that play an important role for you and yours on your special day, and making sure everyone keeps their wits about them, and knows where to be and when to be there, is a necessary job. When it comes to wrangling the family and party members, a wedding coordinator can be a big help. Picture the opening scene of The Wedding Planner: J.Los character fixes a bridesmaids ill-fitting dress, orders the groomsmen to put on their suit jackets, and finds the missing Father of The Bride, all in a matter of minutes. While the example may be a bit extreme (or not), a wedding coordinator is trained and equipped to dissolve a myriad of issues, big and small.

In addition, if you have a family where there is potential for personal drama, do yourself a favor and hire a wedding coordinator with a breadth of experience and tools under their belt. As an outside party, they can more easily diffuse difficult situations and help keep the peace. Plus, you can dictate your wishes exactly to them without them having any personal feelings about it.

Are There Details You Dont Want To Worry About?. When you picture your Big Day, do you want someone there by your side every step of the way? Someone who can navigate the timeline, coordinate with the vendors, and put out any fires that may arise? A day of wedding coordinator can be just that, and much much more.

Is it normal to have a wedding planner?

If you know exactly what you want or you have no idea, a wedding planner can help bring your vision to life. Whether its through mood boards, flicking through magazines together or simply having a conversation. Wedding planners know the latest trends in the industry and will make your vision a reality. We will fight for your vision at supplier meetings alongside you to make sure you are getting exactly what you are in visioning and wont be surprised when you see the decor on the day. We are on your side 🙂

Knowing which suppliers to trust and who will make your wedding perfect is a daunting task. There are so many wedding suppliers out there you may not know where to start. Once you find a great wedding planner however the rest is simple. We can guide you in the right direction and use suppliers we have worked with before and trust. We all have a little black book full of the top suppliers we know you will love.

Having a great venue coordinator is a wonderful thing but keep in mind that arranging the venue is as far as their services stretch. Wedding planners are able to help with budgets, supplier searches, help you with flowers, dress shopping, take you to meet suppliers and anything else you may wish! We work for you and are there to make sure everything is planned to perfection and runs as smoothly as possible. Having worked as a venue coordinator I can tell you all they need to make sure goes smoothly is everything venue side, the rooms are ready, the food and beverage is correct and served on time and no damage is done through out the event. Dont get me wrong some venues have amazing venue coordinators and will go that extra mile for you, but having an independent wedding planner makes sure everything is looked after and has been thought of. Wedding planners and venue coordinators can work amazingly well together so dont think that because you have one you cant have the other.

What is the difference between a wedding stylist and a planner?

Kate Hart – Wedding Planner of Hey Lovers @heyloversxo. A great way to think about the difference between a stylist and a planner is that a stylist dreams up the vision for your wedding day, pulling together the overall look and feel – whilst a planner manages the execution of that vision and ensures your day unfolds perfectly. Amongst other things, your planner manages and coordinates timelines, logistics, run sheets, contract negotiation and wedding vendor relationships to ensure that the creative vision and the flow of the day itself come together perfectly. A wedding planner focuses on the logistics and practicalities across your wedding planning journey. Full planning even involves helping you choose the perfect vendors based on your personalities, love story, aesthetic goals and budget.

A wedding planner is your chief problem solver on the day, playing a pivotal role as a wedding party, vendor, venue and guest relations concierge of sorts. Theyre the main point of contact for everyone on the day of your wedding and will do everything they can to ensure the two of you can focus exclusively on blissing out in your love bubble with family and friends.

Eliska Lam – Wedding Stylist of Ruffles & Bells @rufflesandbells. Think of a wedding stylist as your designer who brings the wow factor to your wedding day. Your wedding designer creates a concept that is reflective of who you are as a couple and visualises the vibe of how everything will look and feel. Styling elements like florals, lighting, table setting and signage are some of the details that are part of your wedding design. These elements are all planned to detail and brought to life – creating a visual and sensual experience to your wedding day.
