Will God Reconcile My Marriage?

God hates divorce and reconciliation is pleasing to Him. In cases of adultery or abandonment, reconcile should still be sought. To achieve this, walk in integrity, follow His principles, use wisdom, be patient, and seek Him during the process. God desires to restore marriages and has given promises of healing and reconciliation for all brokenness in our lives. To reconcile God’s will, one must repent honestly before God, admit it should not have happened, and ask for forgiveness.

There are four stages of reconciliation: forgiveness, expectations, boundaries, measure and celebrate, trust in God for marriage renewal, and give space to your spouse. Notice how the breakup affects your relationship with God and pray that God forgives you and your spouse for all your wrongs.

When your spouse wants a divorce, get centered and draw close to God, ask questions to ask yourself, fight for your marriage, not in your marriage, and use God’s Word and spiritual warfare as weapons to protect your marriage. Embrace faithfulness and cultivate trust, and choose to be different in your new relationship.

Don’t do it alone; the chances of getting back together after divorce are much higher when you include marriage therapy as part of your healing plan. God can do the impossible even if the marriage seems unsalvageable, and He is able and just.

God needs only two individuals to restore a marriage: one is Him and the other is the spouse looking for a restoration. It is impossible to know if the Lord will reconcile your marriage in the end, but if you believe the Lord has spoken to your heart by His Spirit, it is possible.

How do you know when a marriage Cannot be saved?

Psychologists John and Julie Gottman, who have spent decades studying marriage, identified four strong predictors of divorce: criticism, stonewalling, defensiveness, and contempt. If one or more is present, or the partner exhibiting the behavior is unwilling to examine or change it, the marriage may be beyond repair.

Can God save my marriage after separation?

When the two of you were married, you made what is called a covenant. Different from a contract, a covenant is sacred and made with God. That means God is in it with you, and you can pray for Him to restore your marriage. Even if you feel like it is too late. Even if your spouse has left the relationship. Nothing is too big for God. If you have the faith that God created Heaven & Earth, He can save your marriage.

During this difficult time, many organizations, sometimes even the church will encourage you to move on. But for some, they remember their wedding vows and hear God leading them to a different path.

There is an alternative to divorce and it takes courage to walk it out. During your Stand, God will reveal himself to you and will heal your wounds. He will also work in your spouse as you pray.

Does God want me to give up on my marriage?

When to hold on and when to let go. 1) Hold on to your covenant. Let go of the marriage you used to have.. Your commitment to your marriage covenant is in your hands. Its your choice to keep or to give up on. You have every right to hold on to this commitment even if your spouse has chosen not to. You dont need anyone else but God to agree with your decision to hold on to your covenant. And its up to you to hold on to it as long as it takes or as far as you can.

Holding on to your covenant is not the same as holding on to your marriage. You need to let go of the marriage you used to have. You may have to grieve the loss of what you used to have. But you must say goodbye to that marriage. Your old way of doing marriage didnt work, so why would you want to go back to it. Its time to let it go and make room for a new marriage to be built.

2) Hold on to God. Let go of your spouse.. Your relationship with your heavenly Father is your most valuable relationship. No person or thing can take the place of God in your life. There is never a day in your life when you dont need Him. So you must hold on to Him and trust Him to get you through this. He is the one who will never leave you or forsake you. The Lord is always faithful. He is for you and He always wants the best for you.

What are the odds of wife coming back after separation?

  • Key Takeaways. Reunion Rates: Between 10-15% of separated couples reconcile, and approximately 6% of divorced couples remarry each other.
  • Ages Role: Marrying at a younger age can influence decisions and perspectives on relationships. As individuals mature, they might reconsider previous choices, leading to potential reunions.
  • Personal Growth: Time apart can foster personal growth and change. This evolution, coupled with a new understanding of oneself and ones partner, can be a catalyst for reunions.
  • Challenges Ahead: Reunited couples are not exempt from challenges. They must address past grievances, manage external perceptions, realign after personal changes, and navigate the potential complexities of remarriage.
  • Foundations Matter: For a successful reunion, open communication, self-reflection, setting boundaries, and, if necessary, seeking professional counseling are crucial steps.

Introduction. In an age where were often bombarded with pessimistic views on love and the grim statistics of divorce rates, isnt it refreshing to consider the other side of the coin? Think about it: for every story of a marriage ending, there might be an inspiring tale of reconciliation waiting to be told. Its time to shift our focus and ask the burning question: How many couples, after braving the storm of separation, find their way back to the sanctuary of each others arms?

Picture a world where were as obsessed with the stories of rekindled romances as we are with tales of breakups. Isnt there something profoundly hopeful about the idea that love can be rediscovered, even after the gavel of divorce has struck?

  • It’s interesting because enemies die by their own sword. Saul died by falling on his own sword. Judas hanged himself. And although haman didn’t hang himself he did actually hang himself and committed indirect suicide because Haman was hanged from the 50-cubit-high gallows that had originally been built by Haman himself in order to hang Mordecai so again he fell on his own sword / committed suicide

  • Even though I’m single, I really needed to hear this. It took away the fantasy and unrealistic expectation I had of marriage. It showed me that the things I’m going through right now are preparing me for the possible attacks from Satan that can come against my marriage. I hope to one day be able to help others with my testimony.

  • I’m so happy for you guys!! This is proof God can restore and save your husbands soul. I felt for Dani when she started crying cuz it’s like a release like finally he can see how amazing God is. Now he has experienced what u know about God. God keep and bless your marriage. May his hedge be around your marriage and protect u guys

  • What an unbelievable message! We are so quick to giving up on relationships thinking we will find what we are looking in the next person. Life is not a Disney movie but you can have every bit the fairytale story if you are willing to do the work in your relationships. What a tremendous women! Im in nearly an identical situation and there are very few stories of hope like yours!

  • This blessed and encouraged me so much! I can relate in so many ways what I’ve been through with my husband. Standing for the second time. I have no communication with my prodigal husband at this time & I believe it’s ALL God doing what only He can do in my husband’s life. I trust God & His timing. Your marriage restoration story as it unfolds God’s way is such a blessing to many! Thank you both so much for doing the work of God & stance for Godly marriages. It’s ALL for God’s Glory! Hallelujah!!

  • Yes you’re so correct about churches saying it’s fine and not really correcting people and saying relationships and I mean there’s a difference you know if your spouse wants to leave and some of us have been through abusive situations but even then we still need to pray for them. If we don’t stand for them who will. And like it says like I’m reminded if we only love those who love us then what benefit is that to anybody That will never save most people if the ones who love us are already saved. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and I think what we’ve noticed in a lot of our spouses is there is no fear of the Lord. So that’s a good prayer point. It’s not hard to go to hell unfortunately hell is much more full than heaven is and even believers can end up there when they don’t live a godly lifestyle and listen to God and keep repentive and keep humble so imagine how much more easily somebody on the wrong path can go there and we don’t want those people we loved even if we aren’t okay with them at the time to end up being tormented forever

  • Thank you both for being so transparent even about the fact that you’re still in the restoration process. Hearing Oscar’s testimony of how God began to allow the Lord to wash him was such a blessing 🙌🏾 I pray you’re ministry deliver and uplift MANY souls. Maybe one day my prodigal and I will get an opportunity to be a guest😊Shalom

  • Lololol…I’m SO EXCITED!!! I’ve been waiting for this! Yeah, imagine how YOU feel Dani! 😅 I’m such a cheese ball! I cannot stop smiling! 😁😁😁 I’M SO TRULY HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH!!! Oscar, Yeshua bless you brother & Thank You for your testimony! I pray The Lord makes you a fisher of other men…so you can help them too! Encourage them in the way of righteousness. God Bless your heart…both of you! 🤍 God is a God of restoration & healing! YES LORD…YES ADONAI! PRAISE YESHUA!!! IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU SISTER!😢😊🤗✨

  • Thank you so much for sharing! I’m so excited for what God is doing for you two☺️What Oscar was saying about rebelling against God and thinking if he got away Dani then he would be better off and he wouldn’t have the pressure of living for God. It just seems so identical to what me and my husband are going through. I believe my husband way of thinking right now is exactly this but the enemy has deceived him.

  • You are so right when prodigals or the spouse that leaves since it’s the other spouse that’s the problem when they’re really just trying to get rid of God and not have to feel guilty or think about their sin that happens so much where they blame their spouse that loves them and wants to see them have God.

  • Your individual and couple experiences and testimonies are in many ways echoes of my marriage with my wife of 43 years. She left over a year ago, she lives in another state, we are in the divorce process, I have returned to my spiritual faith in a big way, and WE BOTH KNOW and have confessed to one another that we have an ‘ancient’ love affair that spans back eons of time. I totally ‘get’ what you two mean when you say that you have a soul tie with one another. It is a real thing between two people that originates from before the world was formed. Thank you both for your awesome testimonies. Continue to have unshakeable faith in God and in each other. Follow your righteous desires to rejoin with one another to glorify Him and it will eventually come to pass. 💜 💜

  • Thank you both for sharing this. I am walking through my prodigal husband’s judgment season and I have been called to stand in the gap. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It gives me even more hope as I am waiting. My husband has been removed from our home. We have two young boys and I’m doing it alone right now but God has been so faithful in this season of waiting. Thank you for your encouragement and for your humility about your struggles!

  • Thank you both for the openness and showing us your full marriage scars. Your testimony is serving us with deliverance in our understanding. God in his infinite mercies and being Alpha…Omega is showing us page 365 through your testimony purposely for us who are on page 1 or 100 or page 200, God bless you both so much. I am so blessed.

  • Thank you so much I have been standing for my husband for over 2 yrs he committed adultery and started Drinking he turned into another person however despite the no contact and he continues living In our home this separation has given me the journey and really knowing Jesus and he’s love I believe I will have a testimony in Jesus name 🙏❤️

  • I’m going through divorce my husband and I we love each other but my husband relay on his mother and under instructions of my mother inlaw they filed for divorce, may God have mercy and bring a big testimony over the powerless of the demon that fight against my marriage. May God restore all marriage in Jesus name amen

  • I think another thing that’s important to pray over is breaking the lies over your spouse because a lot of times they don’t tell other people the truth and therefore they’re getting encouraged when they shouldn’t be nobody should be encouraging anybody to separate or divorce for any reason cuz you don’t even know if that person is telling you the truth unfortunately. God hates divorce God hates division it’s supposed to be one man and one woman for their whole life honoring each other. And yes standing for the other person if they’re going through something. If the spouse who loves us truly loves us then they’ll do that.

  • Thank you for sharing. I really like how you allow your husband to talk and don’t interrupt him so we get to hear his perspective . I’m in a very similar situation right now. This is our 3 rd time of separation due to similar issues that you guys spoke of. I’m so tired that I’ve given up. I’ve completely removed myself from the situation and let God do whatever He wants. It’s tiring to be married yet on a cycle of on and off, together then separated. I’m ready for divorce. My only child was killed in an accident 6 months ago and I just can’t deal with anymore pain.

  • I love the testimony My situation is different I was abusing my husband I used to have OCD, I wash my hands until I have blood I asked my husband wash his hands too I told him how many times wash his hair and body I was jealous Controlling how much time spend in the cellphone No let him to have the freedom to see another woman Sometimes I think I had jezabel spirit Because I used to wanted to be clean to outside but my gear was so horribly dirty God make me free from all this But my husband can see the change but he don’t trust me He thinks I will be the same if we come back He’s living with his parents His dad is pastor And I can’t understand why he’s supporting his son when he knows about forgiveness and reconciliation I understand probably will take a process but to be in a position of im having divorce and God is fine with that makes me feel hopeless sometimes What are you advice in this

  • Hi to you both from the UK and thank you for your openness. I was unequally yoked. We married in 1997, and my spouse was baptised after studying the Bible, in 1998. When he left he said he only did it for me not God. My heart broke. I have a question. When you mentioned at 30:46 about going to church not realising they’re in active rebellion against God – you then went onto say, ‘they left the marriage outside the reason the LORD tells us, then they are in a active rebellion… May I ask, what is the reason the Lord tells us? Is it when Jesus says except for adultery? If so, can I still stand if that’s the reason my spouse left me – he had an affair. Then married her. Within a year she died from an aggressive cancer. So, am I now free to ‘stand’ for not only his salvation, but also, if it’s Father God’s will, our marriage restoration? We were 25 years together when he left in 2019. Because he is still mourning for the last 6 months since her death, is it wise for me to tell him I’m standing for him? Any advice would be appreciated. 🙏🏼❤️‍🔥

  • I feel so lost. My ex husband wants restoration but still wants nothing to do with the Lord. It’s been the same cycle of us trying and his heart still rejecting his need for Jesus. Do I just give up? We spend time together as a family and we love each other but beyond that I know it’s not where it needs to be.. I have given him to the Lord, and I know God can save him, but I guess my question Is so I keep spending time with him ?? It’s hard on me
