A Positive And A Negative Blood Group Marriage?

Blood group compatibility for marriage is a crucial aspect of any relationship, but it can be influenced by the presence or absence of the Rh factor antigen. The ABO system has four major blood types: A, B, AB, and O. These blood groups are further divided into positive and negative groups.

A positive blood type (A) can give out blood to a spouse who is A positive (A) or AB positive (AB). A negative blood type (A-) is rare but can cause hemolytic disease in newborns. Rh incompatibility can occur when the mother is Rh-negative and the fetus is Rh-positive. Special immune globulins, called RhoGAM, are administered to prevent Rh incompatibility in Rh-negative mothers.

There are eight common blood types: A, B, O, or AB blood type. The ABO system also distinguishes between Rh-positive and Rh-negative depending on the presence or absence of the Rh-D factor in the cells. The golden blood group lacks all Rh antigens, while a person with the Rh-negative blood group has all the Rh antigens.

While blood type may have some influence on relationship compatibility, it is not a definitive predictor of a successful marriage. If you intend to have biological children with your partner, there are options during pregnancy that can help counteract these risks.

In conclusion, all blood groups are compatible for marriage, except for the Rh factor antigens, which can be a hindrance during blood donation or transfusion. Understanding blood group compatibility allows couples to make more informed decisions about their future together.

What blood types should not have babies together?

Rh incompatibility is when a mother has Rh-negative blood and the baby has Rh-positive blood. The mother’s body attacks the baby’s blood cells as if they were a bacterial or viral invader. This immune response is slow to develop and rarely serious in first pregnancies. Subsequent pregnancies with an Rh incompatibility are more risky. A blood test can prevent blood type incompatibility. If an Rh incompatibility is found, an injection is given at 28 weeks. If the problem isn’t found, the baby can get very sick and even die. Jaundice in newborns is common and treatable. If the skin or eyes are yellowish, see a doctor.

If the baby is Rh or ABO incompatible, it will get jaundice. This is treated with water and light. Biliblankets and other phototherapy equipment help the body get rid of bilirubin, which causes jaundice.

  • i had to go the hospital at 11pm-6:30am today because i was bleeding (6 weeks and 1 day) and they told me i have RH- blood so my body was trying to kill the baby.. they gave me this shot and the bleeding has stopped.. i felt so bad finding out that i was the reason my baby was dying. they told me i had 72 hours left with the baby but they were glad i came in when i did. i got to see babys little heart beating and they said hes actually doing great. his heart is beating as it should.. 🙂

  • This is so true about being incompatible with the partner because oh baby did it. I had to get a shot to keep my baby alive. Maybe not true but I believe it was because me and him were so different and should of never been together. I don’t regret my baby but I guess my body rejected him entirely. All I’m saying is I believe this is a good way of seeing if people are compatible

  • Yet they still dont seem to tell a mother she’s rh neg until after she’s given birth and they appear next to the bed with the shot and a quick explanation! ? That’s what happened to me 35 years ago…and from what I can gather, still happens. Its as if they deliberately wait till the mother is exhausted, maybe still half doped up from pain relief before mentioning the rh neg implications…It wasthe first and only time my blood type was mentioned….though they obviously knew through my pregnancy…what’s the big secret? There’s more to it somehow

  • I only got my blood type confirmed as O negative by the time my two sons are already 8 and 5 years old. My doctor asked me if I was pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or have children. They then asked me whether my two sons have physical or mental abnormalities – they don’t have. I took my two sons for blood typing and they are O positive. As much grateful I am for having both my kids both, I also wonder why I didn’t have pregnancy complications despite me being Rh- and my babies Rh+.

  • currently pregnant with my second child. I am Rh negative. I refused the shot with my first born and I don’t plan on getting it with this baby either. My first born is O+. I got my blood checked after birth and I was not sensitized aka there was no blood mixing like they said there would be. So essentially this pregnancy will go as smoothly as the first one lol. I delayed the cord clamping of my son’s placenta and I think that played a part in why the blood didn’t mix I think it could be the better solution to this problem than this shot.

  • I experienced early bleeding with my pregnancy Was thinking it could be Rhesus. The hospital kept on assuring me it’s not that and that bleeding in early pregnancy can happen and that I have subchorionic hematoma. I begged them to give me a shot they said only after 28weeks and after birth. I lost my twins. Had a surgical abortion two days ago that ended up with complications. They couldn’t get everything out. Now I’m home on drugs trying to get the rest out. They failed me, I’m too tired to sue. I should have gone to a different hospital and not trusted the doctors over there. You see I have fibroids so they were blaming everything I was experiencing on the fibroids. It’s after the surgical abortion they finally gave me the shot. I do not think I’ll try for a second child since this experience was very traumatic

  • I have an important question. If the woman is rh – and the guy is rh+ and as she is pregnant and gets the shot to prevent damaging the baby, would the shot affect the baby to make it sterile(not be able to reproduce)? I heard that this is the case but I do know if it is true, and if so, does it happen 100%of the time?

  • Tnx for the article. I don’t speak good english but I will try. I’m pregnant now. My blood type is negative. And I have already lost my pregnancy without knowing and I didn’t have anti D injunction before. Till the begining of the fourth month and then anti_bodies appear during the same month of pregnancy. That’s how I discovered that I have alreadt lost a pregnancy before. I saw my doctor she give me a blood test to do each week and another one to know the blood type of my baby and she told me that I should see I more professional doctor, so she cold that doctor and he will see me after 10 days. I’m scared if this period is long. And I want to know if the baby will be Ok and how, then how much percent for the baby to survive normal ?! I hope I can find answers here. Thank u.

  • Hello, your article is very informative. I have a question. I am Rhesus Negative and i am currently pregnant 24 weeks with twins who are positive. I wonder if this counts as my 3rd pregnancy as my first 2 pregnancies were not successful which i think may have been caused by something to do with the rhesus thing. So would i need a injection?
