If for safety reasons, an employer can make employees remove their wedding rings, such as dangling earrings that might get caught in machinery. Establishing clear rules in your employees is crucial, as wearing a ring in such an environment can result in serious injury, even an amputation. Removing jewelry is the clear answer, but it takes time.

When deciding whether to remove a wedding ring after separation, it is important to acknowledge and cope with the emotions. The decision to remove a ring should be personal and not based on a “WHEN” or “IF” decision. Upgrading your wedding ring can symbolize love and growth as a couple over the years.

If you decide to sell your wedding ring to a local jeweler or a pawn shop, you can get about 50% of the retail price up front. If you do not think it is justified, ask for their risk assessment of that policy.

In summary, an employer may restrict or ban all jewelry at work, unless it is worn for religious reasons or if there are good reasons to do so. It is essential to understand the different materials and gemstones used for wedding rings and to consider the ethical implications of making someone take off their wedding bands.

Do I have to return my engagement ring if we break up?

The No-Fault Approach to Gifts. In states that treat engagement rings as conditional gifts, most courts say the recipient must return the ring to the donor, even if the couple broke up. Courts say the only issue is whether the gift was given as agreed. Fault doesn’t matter in gift law.

Over time, this no-fault approach has become more common. Courts don’t have the resources or desire to look into couples’ personal lives. A South Carolina court said there is no clear way to know who is to blame for an engagement ending. (Campbell v. Robinson, 726 S.E.2d 221 (S.C. Ct. App. 2012).)

Also, courts have said that engagements should be treated like no-fault divorce, which makes it possible for couples to avoid court battles over who is to blame for the end of their relationship.

  • Wow, I hope that so called cast member got fired. Even if he was just doing his job to secure the platform, there is a right way to do that. Running up to the couple to grab the wedding ring was not, that is disgusting. He should of just wait till they were done proposing because what is done is done..the couple would of still have their special moment. Cast members should never touch guests’ belonging without consent, especially something as valuable as an engagement ring.

  • I am a Black American lady in the United States. I never knew people in Egypt could be so wicked. I am so glad that The Most High God protected you and brought you back home to your family. You are truly Blessed and Highly favored. I know there is a purpose for your life and Good and Gifts from The Most High God are coming for you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🤗♥️🌹.

  • I’m a jamaican and I’m in tears 😢 these people are wicked, remember Pharaoh had the children of Israel in bondage for years, Moses was their ticket out but Pharaoh didn’t want to let them go, I am happy that Lavenda is a prayerful woman and God has answered her prayers and delivered her out of the hands of the Egyptians, I feel your pain but you have overcome the fury of the enemies, God is good and He will provide for you, just continue to trust Him.

  • We need to go after these agencies recruiting Africans for these jobs. This is modern day slavery. There must also a be a sensitization campaign about the dangers of working as a maid in countries such as Egypt, or Middle East in particular. It’s very sad indeed. Shame on our leaders who because of rampant corruption, nepotism, tribalism has resulted in our people looking for greener pastures abroad. May God help and be with all the victims of such cruelty.

  • Lavender, expose this woman, give her name so that another girl will not fall victim. Also, Kenya government needs to take this up with Egyptian government to stop this evil. So sorry for what happened to you. I wish our Africa will take care of its own. We have so much in our continent to be going outside and be working these menial jobs to put food on the table.

  • I planned to visit Egypt for a vacation, and I am not going anymore. This is painful. I am so sorry, Lavenda, for what you went through. May God continue to protect you. Your story need to be aired in the Arabic language, As long as you remove the embassy guy’s name because they can target him. Such evil people in this world.

  • I’m a Christian Samoan grandmother and your story touched my heart to the core. I have Kenyan friends and are the nicest sweetest people so much fun to sit and watched rugby together when the Rugby 7 held in Las Vegas. God did not forsaken you. He was using you as his tool so when you come out you can tell the world your storyHe was with you through all those times 😢😢. I hope the Egyptian people who tortured you abused you rotten in hell 10x worse and harder 😡. Stay in Kenya to take care your family. Lord bless you Lavenda 🙏🏼❤️.

  • My faraway sister am listening to your story from Liberia and am in tears with chill running through me hearing your heart touching touching story. I’m left very worried for my niece that is in that very Egypt. Everything you’ve said is the truth cuz my niece told me just about the same story and asking me to hurry up in sending cash to get her out of Egypt. Am so sorry for your misfortune and thanks God for u. To God be the Glory

  • Hopefully the whole world listen to this story. May The Lord continue blessing you young lady! No weapons formed against us will prosper. That devil of a woman was envious of you, she couldn’t stand your happiness which she lacked. I pray that her soul might find rest before she departs this world. You’re a beautiful soul! ❤

  • My daughter, don’t worry one day karma will makes them understand that they are wrong doing. I’m 67 years old and my experience is that karma is like shadow. They only thing you have do is continue praying and stay kind to others. When the day comes they will regret their actions period. Much love from the Netherland.

  • My heart was paining while listen to your horrible experience, you are are strong lady by the Grace of God,,He never leave nor forsake us and we are proud to be black Africans, that Egyptians who let you suffer so much didn’t know that you have the victory in our God the Almighty, I’m proud of you my girl and God will make n way ❤ from Namibia

  • Every time I read stories like this, I wish African leaders can start working towards developing our countries as black Africa so that our people will not need to to go to these rubbish places and face such suffering and dehumanisation. This is really sad. We thank God for seeing you through alive. I am sure that ladies evil has already caught up with her.

  • My heart goes out to this dear lady! So sad you went through what you did, thank God you survived. I am a American here in the US. My cousin told me of a lady who was a Black African family, “business owner” that needed help. The lady of the house was pregnant and needed my help, so I obliged. I cleaned her house so well, she invited me back to clean her whole house. I believe it’s culture as well as wealth. It appeared to me, this lady was used to having servants in her country. I actually saw her throw paper on her floor for me to pick up as I cleaned. Then the grandmother transferred very negative energy on me, in which I felt physical pain the second time I went. I finished and left. My cousin told me she needed me back, but I refused. We have choices here in America, no one needs to be treated that bad, as they help others.

  • You are a miracle princess of God, loved beyond measure, taught by the Lord.. you are born not to perish but to prosper. From me to you as an elderly South African lady listening to your most amazing story, you made me proud and you have taught me much about faith, to stay standing in times of adversity. God bless you my lovely child🙏🏻

  • I’m so sorry this happened. I see so many storjes of African women being raped and abused in Arab countries. I thank the lord you made it out in one piece, Lavenda. This is pure inhumane treatment. Please expose the name of the so called “influencer” who did this to you!! We need Americans and everyone to see this and share it.

  • I am feeling veeeeeeeeeeey angry that someone could be this cruel and inhumane despite Lavenda taking care of her children!!!! Lavenda or kenyans in Egypt please give her social media name/handles and all kenyans and the world should flood her page to shame her!!! The world needs to know and shame her, what influence is she giving to others??? Meanwhile am so encouraged by your faith and reminds me 7 is God’s number of completion and indeed God came through for u on the 7th day, He had to show up like he did for shadrack,Meshack and Abednego, keep trusting, keep your head high and am sure that madam and her inlaw will never ever know peace, already they have too much insecurities 😢😢, God is not asleep, he will show up and avenge them like a tsunami. Meanwhile 👏👏👏 and shout out to kenyan embassy in Egypt, thank u for minding a sister, some embassies out here are a shame!!!

  • This lady’s story saddens me so much . I can’t even comprehend this kind of treatment from human beings to human beings. So sorry lovendan for all that has happened to you. I hope you are healthy now from the hurtful experience and torture you received from these wicked souls. May you find peace and comfort and happiness moving forward.

  • I just want Lavenda to know there are people out here praying for her. There are so many parts of her story I can relate to for myself and others. Her faith is really strong and is in itself a testimony. I also wish her all the best. Unless you have been wrongfully accused you may never truly understand what she has been through. This young woman was targeted, because you cannot have multiple people sharing a space and accuse one person of a crime you can’t even prove. Continue in the Lord, my dear,he promises to never leave nor forsake us. You are in our prayers. Be bless.

  • Lavenda (you are a sweet fragrance) empowering others with your testimony. The woman tried severally to poison and eventually kill her husband and pin it on you as you always prepared his meal. When that failed she falsely accused you of stealing a wedding ring (marriage she wanted to terminate). You need to expose her so people know her for what she is and so others don’t become victims. Stay well and flourish girl – greatness awaits you dear

  • I sat down since morning perusal uour story with my Lavender….what a beautiful name to behold. First of all, am glad you survived from the hand of those people. God is indeed faithful…you are an angel in human form. God indeed came through for you. You are very intelligent, eloquent and smart, please when you are fully recovered i would suggest you drop job applicationon with amnesty international and also i would suggest you start an NGO in your little way to help advocate for human right, and for the deprived individuals in the society. You are indeed God’s own. We all love you from Nigeria.❤ We will try to assist you in our little ways. God bless you.😢😢 Thank you TUKO TV for airing Lavender story🙏🙏

  • Lavender, I came across your story today 5/6/24 and after listening to the bad treatment that you got from that woman, May thoughts and prayers go out to you. Sometimes when you see people suffering in their lives you feel sorry for them, but sometimes it’s crap like what they did to you that’s coming back to them. Don’t worry my dear, you took care of her kids and she treated you like a dog. She will get hers one day. I hope also, that the husband is still alive and will hear your story and know that she was poisoning him. I hope she gets life in prison. But then on the other hand she might pay them off but, you serve a MIGHTY GOD, and you have proved him for yourself, HE WILL GIVE HER HER JUST REWARD. I’m glad that you are back in your country safe and sound. I pray that God will restore your peace of mind and you will forgive that witch for what she did to you. I find it so amazing that some of these people who are not dark skinned or don’t consider themselves black, why they weren’t born black, because although they are fair skinned, their hearts are blacker than coal. That’s why some people suffer so much and when other people see them they feel sorry for them but one never knows what they did to people in this life why they are suffering. And…. The corruption in these countries doesn’t make it easy for the innocent people who get caught up into these vicious situations, but what goes around, comes around and MY GOD DOES NOT SLEEP. THANKS for telling your story. I hope the best for you and hope you find a job to support your family soon.

  • Lavenda, The LORD is faithful. Psalms 23 played in your life. The Lord is omnipresent and saw the wickedness of your boss and her sister in law, the policemen and policewomen…..the torture you went through is a seed they have planted in their children and generations. Vengeance belongs to God. They will remember you, one day. Forgive them, and move on with your life. May the goodness and faithfulness of THE LORD follow you. Gal, you are a testimony of God’s victory….God bless you

  • Hallelujah my sister you are Danial continue to serve the mighty god when I watch your article I cried god said he will never leave you or forsake you he the voice you hear are angels god send to encamp around you no weapon that formed against you can ever prosper god have you in the palm of 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🙏🙏 his hand

  • It’s sad listening to your story. I was almost in tears. These issues need to be brought to the attention of the African and international community. This must stop. God our creator is on your side. I wish you a future of blessings. I watch the article from Dominica 🇩🇲 in the Caribbean. I am from African origin. I am a descendant of African people who were brought to the Caribbean as slaves.

  • I listened to lovender’s story! I felt so bad how she’d experience those persecution in the physical Egyp yet we will too go through in the Spiritual Egyp (babylonian countries) as the Children of AHAYAH, I am thankful to HIM, Whom guids and protect HIS daughter. Lavenders experience gave us lesson her consistency relationship to Our ALLMIGHTY FATHER and to OUR CHRIST and SAVIOR YESHAYAH saves her and will save our SOUL’s! Very clear msg for us who are believer.

  • Such a beautiful, wise soul. I really felt for you but thanked God that you’re a prayerful young lady. Your pain is your purpose. Thank God you’re still glowing with the glory of God after all that torture. May rhe Lord open doors for you and your family to flourish and become all that He created you to be. Lots of love & prayers ❤

  • Lavender story is so emotional. I cried all through the story. You are a strong woman Lavender. God will see you through darling. I wish you can expose the name of the woman ( the name she use on her social platform) You are a kind hearted person. God will reward you. Don’t go to any country o. Stay in your country and make it.

  • This is Extreme racism from Egyptians to black people as if they are not Africans, such a shame!!! So sorry for what you went through, I wish you could mention the social handle of the lady influencer, she is probably acting like an angel to her social media followers!! Very disgusting and shameful of her.

  • Though one doesn’t has to conclude from one part of story, but the story looks so real, thank God u re back home because there is no place like home, it’s a pity that African courageous princess could be treated like this in Africa for a mere ring, so sorry dear and I pray for ur bosslady to turn a new leave, lots love from Nigeria.

  • Lavenda,my sister, thank God for His saving grace, and also for your life.Egypt is a place of torment and wickedness;because of their colour they forget that they themselves are Africans.I’m happy that you know God and you kept on praying. He said He’ll never leave us nor forsake us.Stay in your own country;I believe God has something bigger for you there; but God will vindicate you one day you’ll see.All those who mistreated you will receive their rewards . It’s a good experience for the younger generation to learn from, however. Thanks God bless you and help realize your dreams.😘😘😘

  • May God continue to bless you my dear .. you are a very special young lady you never give up hope ..you hold on to God’s unchanging hand that brought her through……what a evil person that woman is to treat a human being, like that ..she need to expose this woman, so no one follow her on Instagram. God is not sleeping she will get what she sow She is the devil in hell .. my dear young lady continue to give God thanks you are back home safely with your family. 🙏🙏🙏

  • This is horrible but I thank God for your life. God will open ours for you 🙏 as for your madam and all those who treated you badly, God will definitely handle them. I was move to tears, but in everything let us give Thanks to God. Thank you Tuko for bring this insightful story of Lavenda. God bless you real good 🙏

  • This story is such an inspiration. Lots of us would rather keep quiet with such instead of coming out the ways she did in honor and Glory of God. My suggestion is next time allow them to share in both languages Eng and Swa coz more heart comes out in native language as well..my two cents I could be wrong. Many blessings, peace

  • Your testimony is touching. Sister! You should scrim when the husband touched you, you could receive help for an attempt of rape. God said fear not. I bet even the wife would be on your side at that point. God is always on our side. When you look afraid, people would always try to take advantage of you. I hope your story would help those who are still trying to travel to such place. Shame to the crooked so called agencies 👎. May God bless you Sister 🙏.
