After eyebrow waxing, it is important to avoid applying eye makeup or using an exfoliator around the brow area. If your skin is sensitive, avoid touching your newly waxed brows as the oil from your fingertips may cause spots. Applying heavy makeup directly after waxing can cause pores to become blocked or cause skin reactions, leading to breakouts.
Before a brow wax, it is crucial to clean your skin and leave it that way. Makeup and other products that coat the skin can make the wax less effective at clinging to and removing hair. Your stylist will apply some HD Brows cosmetics at the finishing stage of your treatment, but it is advised not to apply any further, heavy make up.
To determine your brow shape, grab a brow pencil or pencil eyeliner and mark three key points along both brows: the beginning, arch, and tail. The best for those who prefer full brows with a natural-looking finish is a clear brow wax that helps create fluffy, feathery, textured brows that last for up to 12 hours.
After the treatment, a healing ointment is applied to your skin, and some redness and swelling are normal. Patients should follow the advice carefully and not wear makeup after laser skin resurfacing unless they have given permission.
The right aftercare advice for eyebrow shaping and tinting is still incredibly important, as it helps keep your HD Brows looking their best and prevents acne. It is generally recommended to wait at least 24 hours after waxing before applying foundation or any other makeup to the skin.

📹 Easy Eyebrow Tutorial for Beginners & Women 40 to 65 +
Seriously, this is the easiest way to fill in sparse eyebrows. It’s also super easy to fake eyebrows that might be non existent.
This is awesome! I’m 48 years old, and my brows are becoming sparse. I’ve never had to color my brows…until now 😩. I have been just winging it, and coloring in any sparse spots I have, not really knowing what shape to do, or anything. This tutorial has helped me tremendously! You have no idea how much this is going to help me 🙏🏼 Thank you so much! Also, I’m glad you’ve found medicine to help with your tremors. Even if they’re not completely gone, that’s ok! You are you, and never apologize for that ☺️ You’re great just the way you are ☺️🙏🏼
I’m 29, and I’ve always struggled with my eyebrows… Not sure why… But this is hands down, the most helpful tutorial I’ve come across for my face type! Subbed because it worked so well! I just hope I can do this when I’m just waking up for work, as just now I tried it at night while I’m wide awake!
Hi Melissa, Loved the article. I have very thin brows with very little hair. This article has to help and I am going to practice this technique. Thank you so much! I needed this article and I am sure I am not the only one! Eyebrows are difficult beasts; They come in thin, thick, bushy, wiry, high and low areas that frame our faces. Who knew dot to dot would be the solution! Thank you. Again, you are a lifesaver, or I should say eyebrow saver! ❤
My brows are very sparse and filling them in makes the biggest difference in how I look. If I could only do one thing it would be my brows! Even if I can’t get them perfect it still looks better than if I don’t do them…thank you for the tutorial! I’m so happy for you that you found something that helps with your tremors!
Holy smokes!! I turned 60, 2 weeks ago, and I’ve never done a good brow ever! My brows are very sparse, and very blonde, so I dye them myself every few weeks. There are still lots of bare spots! I just ran to try this and I’m just amazed at how good it looks! I would always do this sort of arch shape before. Didn’t look right. But this is the best tutorial I’ve ever seen! You just came up as a suggestion, but I’m so happy I’m hitting the subscribe button! Thank you for this!! 😊
I’ve just found you and I love you already haha 49 years old and just come through the other side of day and night sweats the other fun symptoms still remain unfortunately, I really struggle with makeup application and eyebrows have been my nemesis for quite some time, however you have just completely simplified it for me 🙏 I will definitely be perusal more of your tutorials xx
Melissa I’m so thrilled for you that you’ve finally found medication that can help with your shake. You must be thrilled with how steady your hands are now. Thanks for this. My eyebrows most days are complete strangers who have never met and if they did they would not get on. So needed this. Cheers and Merry Christmas. Hope you’re having a ball.
I’ve never done my eyebrows and always hated them. That being said, I’m 60 and things DO change as you age, and keep changing. That joke we’ve always heard – you get hair growing everywhere you don’t want it and lose it all where you do – beware youngsters! It’s nice to see a human being who’s not perfect! Thanks for that. Great job, great tutorial.
You are such a nice woman! ❤️ This is the 1st article I’ve seen you in. We’re pretty much the same age and the same color (light) eye brows! ❤️ My older body is causing me some health issues. I am so very sorry that your hands shake. My hands used to shake. It was caused by an antidepressant that I took for years. Then, one day my hands started shaking!!! I stopped the medication and my hands stopped shaking. I wish you all the best! God bless you & keep you safe. 🙏
I just wanted to say I too have hand tremors and so does my oldest daughter. Hers are more severe and mine are mostly affected when im nervous so i try to manage my stresses. Im so happy you found something that helps your tremors. My daughter is still looking to find something that helps. And i suck at brows so thank you for the tutorial.
Hey Melissa! Praise God you finally found a medicine that’s helping you! That’s the best news I’ve heard all year! This eyebrow tutorial is phenomenal! I just did my nighttime skincare so I will be doing this first thing in the morning. I can’t wait to try it! Thanks so much sweet friend. I’m so excited for your great news and this eyebrow trick. Now I know how you’ve upped your eyeshadow looks. You have been looking just perfect lately. You’ve always looked great but I’ve noticed a big difference. I guess since I’ve been perusal you for some time I don’t notice the tremors so much unless you mention it. I’m so happy for you and always praying for you and your family. Sorry, I didn’t mean to write a book but am just so thankful and thrilled! Love you bunches!💖🥰🙏
Hello! I found your website by chance. Aside from the good tutorial (I practically have only “half-eyebrows”) I love that you’re honest and frank about your hand trembles! You’re a lovely human being and an inspiration to me. Bless you 👏. I was feeling down before, now after perusal you, I’m ok. Will definitely try this!
This is genius! Thank you, Melissa♥i have gotten so many of your wonderful recommendations lately and am so enjoying them! Bless you with the health challenges; good on you for just pushing thru. I’m thrilled for you that you found a med to help with the hand shakes. I used to have terrible hand shakes from my OCD med. Thank God for new meds😉 wishing you a blessed, happy, healthy New Year.
Hi 👋 Mrs M. I’ve been waiting for an eyebrow tutorial that is easy to do and remember,so thank you for sharing this 💗. I’m so happy that you found something to help with your hands. You do such a great job with your makeup. I hope your Christmas time was wonderful. I am going to try this method with my brows. Xxxxxx
Thanks very much for the tutorial. I am over 50 and when you talk about “nonexistent eyebrows”? I’m sorry, but you have 95% more hair in your brows than I do. I literally have less than 20 hairs and 1/2 of those (if not all) are grey! Yours are pretty full to begin with. So just know that there are “sparse or non existent” brows and then there really are Sparse and non existent brows. Most of the over 50 YouTube beauty tutorials that say it’s for sparse brows are not sparse at all. THAT being said, I have to say that this article is THE BEST!!! thank you so much!!!
I just came on to say a huge thank you for this. I tried these tips today and I have full and natural looking eyebrows for the first time ever. I was always averse to filling mine in because so many women look like they have slugs on their foreheads. This is a really nice look with a subtle arch and definition.
I’m so glad you found medication to help you with the shaking. It’s got to be a whole new world for you. And I can say that I kind of understand what you must go through. I was trying to line my lips at a dog show but my left had was shaking so bad (yes, I’m left handed) that I had to use my right, which was not an easy task. It was weird because it was only my dominate hand that was shaking uncontrollably.
Thank you for your article I will be trying this asap I hardly have any hair for eyebrows so if I go outside my home I always have to fill them in and never knew of a good way to do them until today just watched your article and I am so excited to try this out. I am grateful that your medication is helping your hands not shake so bad I am a newcomer to your website and this is the 2nd article I actually got to watch thank you for that dear. So I will update you on how the process works for me take care doll God bless you.
I FINALLY got around to DOING this tutorial. It’s brilliant! I need to play with a different color than the one I bought (so scared of having Groucho Marx brows🤣) but I’m happy with the results. My brows used to be crazy bushy and practically unibrow when I was young so I did a lot of tweezing. Now I’ve got the OPPOSITE problem: they’re disappearing! Goodness! I was literally thinking, about a week before you posted this, ‘I wonder what I can do with these brows?’ There you popped up with this right on time! Love you beautiful lady and hope your recovery is going smoothly. Big hugs!
Melissa! YAY🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉FOR THE NEW MEDS! That must make you feel like a million bucks! Your brows looked great.. personally I think we should not strive for identical twin brows, but rather very close sister brows! I was engaged many years ago to and photographer to the arts/Beverly Hills, entertainment biz.. he always told me that it is our little differences on our bodies and particularly the face that makes us an interesting subject.. I totally agree with him.. wise man he was… anyway… I will give this method a go… thanks for sharing with us! And… Happy upcoming New Year!🎉
Amazing Tutorial!!! Came across it at just the right time. Went thru Menopause which did a number on my body, skin and especially on my face! Eyebrows said “c’ya” and when I tried to draw them in, they came out looking exactly like the Angry Baby you showed 😆 Going out tomorrow to get the products you have linked up and practice tonight with what I’ve got. Thank you so much!!! Going to check out your articles to see how else you can help me 😉 I need an anti-aging skin routine, anti-aging make-up tips, how and where to apply concealer and contour (esp to thin out and shorten my nose). I let it all go when Menopause started because Menopause sucks and I really couldn’t find any helpful articles on YouTube. Make-up used to be such a FUN experience and I miss it so much!!! So if you could help, I’d be sooooo greatful!!! Thanks again!
Clever approach, Mrs. M! My brows have good shape but sparse in parts these days. I use ABH Brow Wiz pencil…just sketch the outline beginning at the bottom of the brow, then the top from the middle to the tail. Fill in with hair like strokes as needed ombré style as I keep the head of the brows lightest, then brush up to soften followed by ELF Brow Wow in taupe to set. Curious how the criss cross would work so I’ll give it a try.
Hi Melissa- Hope you’re having Awesome Holidays! Just wanted to ask you., what was that makeup remover pen from A Amazon you showed & recommended on a article a while back? I really need to get one & thought I’d go with ypur recommendation but I don’t remember what it was called,, I tried searching it on your articles to no avail. Thank you in advance! ☺️ Happy New Year!
Oh my gosh, I needed this article so badly! I am having trouble with “disappearing brows” the older I get. I have dark hair, but very light brows that are getting sparser. I also have one eyebrow that is higher than the other. They are the most difficult part of my makeup routine, so I need all of the help I can get. Thank you so much. If you have any tips on growing in your eyebrows (I’ve been using rosemary oil on them every night for over 2 months, but not seeing a difference yet), I would so appreciate a article on this problem, if you have any advice:) Thank you, beautiful lady ❤
This is a great tutorial! I’m 73 and I feel like my eyebrows are disappearing! Being a girl who grew up in the 60s, I was never really interested in my eyebrows much because I had bangs, and so I never got very good with an eyebrow pencil. Needless to say eyebrow techniques were not something I ever developed. My youngest granddaughter has the most beautiful eyebrows, and I’m always telling her that she has to give me lessons, but we haven’t done that yet. I tried your technique, and I actually love how my eyebrows turned out except I think I have the wrong color eyebrow pencil. I’m anxious to try a different color. I’m also going to invest in an eyebrow gel that has growth serum in it to try to fill in the natural growth of my eyebrows. This is really exciting. Thank you so much for putting this together for us!
I only have a powder like eyeshadows, its for eyebrows. I have eyebrows, was one that didn’t pluck lol. I got called out about that at work. But noo im not doing it. They are still dark at 59. Might buy a pencil. Thankyou beautiful. Im guessing this was when you did a article and said. Oops one brow done. Do hope the medication 💊 works so happy for you. It’s a big deal. Loves you 💗 💓 💖 xxx 🐶🐾🐾
Distant relatives that don’t even know the other exists 😂 my fave line from this article. But Thank You for this!!! I had an accident many years ago and I barely have any eyebrows, just a few tiny hairs on each, I’ve been drawing mine in for years, but this tutorial is hands down the best I’ve ever seen. I really appreciate you doing this❤
Bravo🎉 I am fair and my eyebrows are very light in colour so it appears at first glance that I have no eyebrows. I wear glasses for reading or for looking at my computer screen, so I am struggling to use a brow pencil to define the brow without wearing my glasses, or when I do wear my glasses, they are in the way of my attempting to define them with a brow pencil. Your method here I believe will finally allow me to have eyebrows…period. Thank you again.❤
Hi Melissa, That was great! Very good tutorial on shaping your eyebrows. I don’t know what to do with my eyebrows anymore. I’ve never done anything, but trim them and shape them. They are still semi dark with a few gray coming in. Sometimes I go over the gray, but it doesn’t look right. I will give your method a try. QUESTION: IF MY BROWS ARE BLACK SHOULD I GET BLACK OR BROWN COLOR? My hair is highlighted medium blonde. Thanks. Kindness, Teresa
