The video, directed by David Dobkin, pays homage to his 2005 film Wedding Crashers, which was released nine years ago. In the video, Adam Levine claims that he crashed a number of weddings in Los Angeles to perform Maroon 5’s single. However, the video was so smooth that the married couples were surprised.
On December 6, 2014, Maroon 5 and their band drove around Los Angeles to crash real, live weddings with impromptu performances. Entertainment Tonight reports that each of the grooms featured in the weddings the band crashed were aware of Maroon 5’s scheduled appearance. It was left up to the grooms as to how they would inform the members of their wedding parties or if at all.

Some of it was staged. I recognized some actors, one in particular is the Asian father in law in the Asian wedding. You’ll see him playing a part in Adam Sandler’s movie “That’s my Boy”. He plays the house help. There is that distinct possibility that this actor may actually just be attending his daughter/sons wedding. It is L.A. after all.
What a great surprise that it was to have such a fantastic group crashing those weddings, the smiles, and reactions to it by all their friends and guests was overwhelming well worth the efforts. It was truly a memorable gift of love to the bride and groom. The gift and memories of that day will last a lifetime. Maroon 5 your the best.
I want to believe this was real but the first couple is a couple of actors who are married in real life, but they got married in 2011. Names are Nico Evers-Swindell and Megan Ferguson. Also one of the brides is a model who posted a picture in her gown saying working with Maroon 5 and hashtaged it NoImNOTmarried

I don’t know about every ‘wedding’ in the MV for Sugar but I can say with certainty that the Asian wedding was fake and the two aren’t a couple in real life or anything. How do I know this, my friend of 10+ years played the bride. She posted about the filming on her fake wedding day on fb and instagram, etc. It’s not real but it’s a cute concept. I do find it a bit annoying so many people think it is real though. Also, Raina from ANTM didn’t get married, she was acting.
the first wedding at the park plaza hotel was not real you can google it there was a wedding at the PPH but the couple in the photos was not the couple in the article, dont know about any of the others so i dont rule out that they did crash 1 or 2 others but as eric parsons points out about the one he was at the bride and groom had ties to the produceer so is that really being crashed.

I was in the music article and we took like 5-9 takes, some might be real but the one fake wedding I went too was fake. At 1:10 that’s the one i was at and you might now see me but I’m in the right back table. No one there was even family members I just met a friend who danced with me when we got to get up
