The criticism against Muhammad is that he married a six-year-old girl named Aisha at the age of 50. Many Muslims would not consider marrying off their nine-year-old daughters, but some argue that since Muhammad was al-insaan al-kaamil, he married Aisha when she was six to seven years old and consummated her marriage when she was nine lunar.
Mariya bore Muhammad a son in 630, but none of his sons survived to adulthood. Islam’s most trusted sources say that Aisha was indeed only nine years old when her marriage was consummated with Muhammad. Some Muslims say that Aisha was real, and the common view is that the Islamic prophet Muhammad had three sons, named Abd Allah, Ibrahim, and Qasim, and four daughters, named Fatima, Ruqayya, Umm Kulthum, and Zaynab.
Modern criticism has concerned Muhammad’s sincerity as a prophet, his morality, his marriages, his sex life, his ownership of slaves, and his psychological condition. Some Muslim fundamentalists defend and deploy the idea that Aisha was betrothed at six years old and married at nine.
Aisha bint Abi Bakr (c. 613/614 – July 678) was the third and youngest wife of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. By all social standards, she had entered adulthood, so Muhammad pbuh did not marry a child. Critics allege that Aisha was just six years old when she was betrothed to Muhammad, himself in his 50s, and only nine when the marriage was consummated.

Which prophet married 100 wives in one night?
The ḥadīth about Prophet Sulaymān sleeping with multiple wives in a single night is an example of a contradiction between ḥadīth and logic. It says that Prophet Sulaymān slept with many wives in one night. The ḥadīth is seen as an erotic message and is thought to be a forgery by the scholars who wrote it. This study aims to clarify the problematic allegations, find responses, and compare ideas from Jewish and Christian sources. It suggests that such problematic ḥadīth imply a form of miracle in the tradition. The data comes from nine canonical ḥadīth books, traditional commentaries, Biblical sources, and related articles. The data was analyzed in a descriptive and analytical manner. The study finds that the ḥadīth is a well-established and authenticated ḥadīth, as it is included in the canonical works of hadith and corroborated in other traditions. The claim that the hadith was fabricated was rejected. The number of wives should be understood as indicating many wives, not just a few. The study shows that the paragraph about a single night refers to the story of the muʿjizāt.

At what age did Prophet Muhammad get married?
Aisha was a pretty little girl. Muhammad married her when he was fifty-three and she was six. He had sex with her when she was nine. (Wives of the Prophet, pages 57-61). This is child abuse by the prophet of Islam. Muhammad set an example for Muslims when he married Aisha. Today, older Muslim men still marry much younger girls, following Muhammad’s example.
Did Abu Bakr want to marry Fatima?
Marriage Fatima married Muhammad’s cousin Ali in 1 or 2 AH (623-5 CE), possibly after the Battle of Badr. Some companions, including Abu Bakr and Umar, had asked for Fatima’s hand in marriage, but Muhammad said he was waiting for the moment fixed by destiny. Ali was poor, so he was reluctant to ask Muhammad to marry Fatima. When Muhammad proposed to Fatima, she didn’t say anything, which was seen as her agreement. This report shows that women must agree to marry in Islamic law. Muhammad suggested that Ali sell his shield to pay the bridal gift. Muhammad performed the wedding ceremony and they prepared an austere wedding feast with donations from Madinans. Shia sources have recorded that Fatima donated her wedding gown on her wedding night. Later, the couple moved into a house next to Muhammad’s quarters in Medina. Their marriage lasted about ten years until Fatima’s death. Fatima’s age at the time of her marriage is uncertain, reported between nine and twenty-one. Ali is said to have been about twenty-two. The Sunni al-Suyuti (d. 1505) says that God ordered Muhammad to marry Fatima to Ali. Muhammad also told Fatima that he had married her to the best member of his family. Another version of this hadith is in the Sunni collection Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal. Muhammad says Ali is the first in Islam, the most knowledgeable, and the most patient of the Muslim community. Nasr says the union of Fatima and Ali is special for Muslims because it is seen as the marriage between the greatest saintly figures surrounding Muhammad.
Which Prophet had 950 wives?
Noah is a prophet and messenger of God in Islam. He is one of the Ulul azm prophets. Noah’s mission was to warn his people, who were worshipping idols. God told Noah to tell his people to stop worshipping idols and to live good, pure lives. Noah preached with zeal, but his people wouldn’t change, so he built the Ark and the Great Flood came. Some Islamic traditions say the flood was global, while others say it was local. The Quran, Ahadith, and Tafsir say Noah preached for 950 years. The Quran says that Noah was a great prophet. In the Quran 17:3, God says: He was grateful. Also, the Quran says: Noah prayed to God, and God answered. God saved Noah and his family from a terrible disaster. God also blessed Noah and his descendants. People of all nations will be blessed by Noah.
Did Prophet Muhammad have a cat?
The Prophet liked cats and owned several. There’s a story about how the Prophet woke up one morning for the call to prayers and saw his cat, Muezza, asleep on his robe.
How old was Muhammad’s youngest wife?
Age at marriage and first sex. Islamic sources say Aisha was six or seven when she married and nine or ten when she had sex for the first time. Aisha was married at six years old, according to a hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari. Ibn Sads said she was between six and seven, while Ibn Hisham said she was ten. Al-Tabari says Aisha stayed with her parents after the marriage and had sex at nine. But elsewhere, Tabari says she was born before 610 C.E., which would make her about twelve or more at marriage. In Islamic literature, her young age at marriage was not discussed much. Spellberg and Ali say that mentioning her age is unusual for early Muslim biographers. They think this is because of her virginity and religious purity.Later Muslim scholars and Christian polemicists also ignored her age. Early Orientalist writers were mainly concerned with Muhammad’s polygamy and the ethics of marrying for political reasons. Those who discussed Aisha’s age explained the age gap without condemnation by citing the Orient as a sexually deviant place. From the late 19th century, as the East and its “immoralities” were seen as a threat, the colonizing powers tried to control the age of consent. Efforts to reform Muslim societies ran into conflicts with local forms of Sharia. Aisha’s age at marriage and the involved Prophetic precedent became the predominant explanation for the backwardness of Muslim societies and their reticence to reforms. Some Muslims chose to modernize and re-calculate her age to make it seem like she was still a child. Conservatives rejected this because it went against Islamic teachings.
Did Prophet Muhammad only have daughters?
People believe that Muhammad had three sons and four daughters. Muhammad’s children were born to his first wife, Khadija. His son Ibrahim was born to Maria. None of Muhammad’s sons grew up. He had an adult foster son, Zayd ibn Harithah. All of Muhammad’s daughters grew up, but only Fatima survived him. Some Shia sources say that Fatima was Muhammad’s only biological daughter because she was close to him, unlike Ruqayya, Umm Kulthum, and Zaynab. Most Shia Muslims believe that Fatima was Muhammad’s only biological daughter.
Sunnis believed this. Sunni sources list the children of the Islamic prophet Muhammad as Qasim, Zainab, Ruqayya, Umm Kulthum, Fatima, Abd Allah, and Ibrahim.
Did Prophet Muhammad have children with his wives?
Muhammad married Khadija in 595 when he was 25 and she was either 28 or 41. She was his only wife until she died in 619. After Khadija, Muhammad married ten women. Sawdah bint Zamah in 619; Aisha bint Abi Bakr in 623; Hafsa bint Umar, Zaynab bint Khuzayma, and Hind bint Abi Umayya in 625; Zaynab bint Jahsh in 627; Juwayriya bint al-Harith and Ramla bint Abi Sufyan ibn Harb in 628; and Safiyya bint Huyayy and Maymunah bint al-Harith in 629. Muslim scholars disagree about whether Rayhana bint Zayd and Mariya al-Qibtiyya were concubines or wives. All of these women were previously widowed or divorced except for Aisha. Most people believe that Muhammad had seven biological children (three sons and four daughters). All but one of them were born to Khadija between 598 and 611 or 615. Mariya gave Muhammad a son in 630 (his seventh child), but none of his sons lived to adulthood. Muhammad’s life and career are traditionally divided into two periods: before he left Mecca in 622 and after he settled in Medina. Hijrah means that Muhammad and the early Muslims left Mecca and went to Medina because the Meccans were persecuting them. He married twice after moving to Medina.
Goals. Khadija was Muhammads first wife. She was a wealthy woman who supported him financially and emotionally. She also became his first follower when he began preaching Islam. Both her age and marital history at the time of her marriage to the 25-year-old Muhammad are unclear. She was either 28 or 41 and may or may not have been a virgin. This marriage was the most significant. Muhammad had six children with Khadija. They were married for 24 years and remained monogamous. Khadija died in 619. Muhammad was 49 at the time. After moving to Medina, he started having more than one wife. He didn’t have a Medinan wife because they didn’t agree with Islam’s rules about marrying multiple women and limiting inheritance. Muslims can only have four wives at a time, but Muhammad was allowed to have more because he was a prophet. Muhammad’s wives could not remarry after his death. Men were warned not to try to marry these widowed women. This was a major offense in the Quran.
Did Muhammad’s daughter marry his cousin?
Islamic tradition says his father died before he was born, and his mother died when he was young. He is said to have had 14 wives or concubines. He was monogamously married to his first wife, Khadījah, until her death after about 25 years. He had four daughters and two sons with Khadījah. He probably had another son with a later wife or concubine, Māriyah. His youngest daughter, Fatima, married Muhammad’s cousin Ali, the fourth leader of the Muslim community.

Thanks again. In my pastoral role I counsel adults who are still traumatised by sexual abuse from their childhood, sometimes from as early as 3 years of age. The damage, unless healed in some way, is life long and profound. Vile and tragic. In the Song of Solomon 2v7, 3v5, 8v4 the advice given is that there is a time for “love to awaken” which implies, not just sexual union but a fully conscious, consensual, romantic response which would involve awakening of the natural sexual desire in due time, not too soon. The discussions around Aisha only focus on her obviously non-existent biological capacity at the age of nine, forgetting her emotional need for romance and love with a suitable man at a later date. Mohammed’s position should have been that of a caring uncle, instead he decided to abuse Aisha, to lust after her.
From what, I understand about this particular situation is that Mohamid wanted to make certain, he had a virgin for a wife, he married her at 6 but did not have relations with her, until she was 9, and a Similar coincidence, when Mary, was betrothed to Joseph both of the linage of David, King of Israel, was only 13, a virgin with child, in some places, it’s not uncommon for a young woman to be married at such a young age, because people died younger in those old days.
Sahih al-Bukhari 3894—Narrated Aishah: My marriage (wedding) contract with the Prophet was written when I was a girl of six (years). We came to Al-Madina and we dismounted at the place of Bani Al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on, my hair grew (again) and my mother, Umm Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became normal, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, “Best wishes and Allah’s Blessing and good luck.” Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah’s Messenger came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age. Sahih al-Bukhari 2967—Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah: . . . When I took the permission of Allah’s Messenger, he asked me whether I had married a virgin or a matron and I replied that I had married a matron. He said, “Why hadn’t you married a virgin who would have played with you, and you would have played with her?” Sahih al-Bukhari 6130—Narrated Aishah: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah’s Messenger used to enter (my dwelling place), they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me.
Just a note, in the Quaran chapter 65, about divorce, it says that a wife must be kept for 3 menstrual cycles after a divorce in case you change your mind, however: If your wife has not reached puberty*, you simply count 90 days. I don’t think they would have established rules for divorcing children if marrying them wasn’t permitted.
