Wildfires in California’s wine country in October left over 40 people dead and thousands of homes and businesses destroyed. Wine Country Bride, a bridal boutique, was one of the businesses that was lost. The Kincade Fire has burned 76,000 acres, destroyed 19 buildings, and forced 200,000 to leave their homes as of Wednesday morning. Domestic violence is not uncommon in many countries, including India, with the most frequent victims being women. Bride burning is an unimaginable, extremely violent act performed by the husband or his family, simply because the bride’s family has refused to.
In India, there are an estimated 8,000 bride burning cases every year, but very few are prosecuted. This goes to show the low view of women that still permeates parts of Indian society today. An increasing number of bride-burnings or dowry murders have been reported from India, where married women are murdered, usually burned to death, by husbands or in-laws whose demands for more dowry from the bride’s family remain unmet.
Exercise intensity is another key factor that affects the number of calories burned. The more intense the exercise, the greater the number of calories burned. Wedding planners in the North Bay say their businesses are taking a huge hit following the wildfires. After the former Wine Country Bride was devastated by the Tubbs fire in October 2017, the passionate staff was left without a shop.

Has anyone noticed “One for the money, two for the show” based on children’s rhyme? “One for the money Two for the show Three to GET READY And four to GO” Taylor Swift – Champagne Problems “One for the money Two for the show I NEVER was READY So I watch you GO” She turned a children’s fun rhyme into an emotionally sad lyrics. Just pure GENIUS !
A long time ago I left my high school boyfriend behind on a different continent to start a new life in America. I went back last year for our 30th HS reunion, and when this song played at one of the parties, we just stared at one another across the room for 4 minutes. No words were needed. Fortunately we are both happily married with children now, and friends with each other too, but boy did this masterpiece bring back all those memories and emotions of young, intense love that never had its happy ending. Taylor Swift, such a poet and a skilled storyteller!
“Your Midas touch on the chevy door” Midas is from Greek mythology whom anything he touch turns to gold. So he touched the car and it turned to gold. But can a car go somewhere with gold tires? No. So even tough their relationship was beautiful and golden and shiny, it wasn’t moving forward What a genius.
“Champagne Problems” is a song about how a person is preparing to propose to their lover. The person has already informed their family and their friends, who are all ready to celebrate and applaud once the engagement was done. The person is using their mother’s ring to propose. The person even prepared what to say when they would propose. But before they could say anything, the lover ran away, because the lover thought that they weren’t enough for the person. The lover couldn’t give a proper reason as to why they can’t marry the person. The lover says that they didn’t know what to answer until the person went down on their knees. Everyone says the lover would have made a lovely bride, but it’s a shame that they’re already confused and conflicted on their own. Because the lover turned him down, the person booked a night train to get out of the place, so they could sit there all alone while hurting. The lover says one day that the person will find someone else who will say yes to them. Someday their friends group ( they are not sure they’ll ever be able to say “our friends” again, because they won’t be able to face the person or any of their friends) will get over the initial shock and then maybe one day they’ll deck the halls again for when the person feels ready and finds someone to propose to again who will say yes for sure. This problem, that the lover broke the person’s heart might not be a nationwide issue or that big of a deal to most people, because soon everyone will move on and forget all about it.
the pain in this song is unreal. yes, it must’ve torn the boyfriend character, but it shredded the girlfriend as much. it comes down on you i feel like on the spot, maybe it was too early to propose, maybe she didn’t like him very much, but to see how she got replaced for not being ready is heartbreaking. evermore makes folklore seem full of joy
“one for the money, two for the show i never was ready so i watched you go” The phrase “one for the money, two for the show” is part of a rhyme. The full rhyme goes “one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready and four to go” and it basically means ‘ready, set, go’. The narrator didn’t continue saying the full rhyme after saying the second verse because they weren’t ready to go all the way to marriage amd that’s why they said “i never was ready so i watched you go”
The saddest part is when she says “you won’t remember all my champagne problems” at the end. The guy will eventually move on and resent the narrator whom he proposed to, not remembering what she went through but he will never forget how she hurt him. And the lyric implies that she will love him forever, while by the time she is ready he has moved on…
Another detail I adore is the line “Sometimes you just don’t know the answer till someone’s on their knees and asks you.” It’s interesting cause when you ask someone to marry you, you get down on just one knee, not “knees”. Here, however, he not only got down on one knee to propose, he went down on both of them – as in begging. Representing his helplessness and desperation, imploring her to stay. He’s on his knees in front of her.
This song is musical genius! Not just the lyrics, the instrumentation – Taylor’s new song Alcott has some similarities, ebb and flow of tempo with haunting background vocals and variation in Taylor’s voice during the chorus, bridge. Very few songs speak from the POV of the person who left, part feeling guilt, part numbness, where everyone else dislikes them but no one ever hears their side of the story. She’s one of the biggest stars on the planet because she really is a genius, not just because she made 20 chart topping pop songs – she shines in songs like these, which have a lot of words too, quite difficult to render at the pace and tempo she does!
there’s just something that hits different with this song. ever since the first listen. the melody, the piano, the lyrics… from the start to the end, it’s a complete masterpiece. i don’t want this song to end- the build up in the bridge, the transition from “i dropped your hand while dancing” to “she’ll…hold your hand while dancing”, the emotion conveyed in her voice, it’s all indescribably beautiful. and i haven’t even been in a relationship, yet this song makes me cry! 🥲 the storytelling with the whole album is just phenomenal.
Taylor Swift was 17 years old when she wrote ‘Love Story’ And Juliet just said YES. Now, Taylor Swift is 31, she released ‘Champagne Problems” But this time, Juliet said NO to Romeo From ”marry me juliet you’ll never have to be alone”, She literally cursed and wrote ”she would’ve made such a lovely bride what a shame she’s f*cked in the head”. Her lyricsism and her songwriting became more mature and realistic from being Fantasy Books becoming Tragic Films. If Swift’s songwriting doesn’t impresses you, I don’t know who would.
This song describes the whole scene. You can dream a whole movie in your mind. And that’s the best part of it. Her lyrics are so describing and it makes the listener get lost in the imagination. The bridge is so deep. Every lyric has a deep meaning. Starting from “midas touch” to “november flush and your flannel cure” to “dorm was once a madhouse” to “evergreen our grp of friends don’t think we’ll say that word again” to “deck the halls we once walked through” to the nursery rhyme “1 for the money” to “she’s stucked in the head” to the ending. Everything is deep!! And TAYLOR SWIFT IS A GENIUS.
i absolutely love that she used “tapestry” among all other things. tapestries are cultivated with such detail, and once ripped, the damage is almost irreversible. the tapestry of love that they’ve created took a lot of time, effort, and patience. she’s aware that even if someone will patch it up, the scar that she left will be there, always.
I just heard this song today for the first time. On the radio and I had no idea who sang it. I actually thought it was jewel. I looked it up and then was really surprised that it was Taylor swift. I’ve never really listened to Taylor Swift music before but anyways I really loved the song and I’m so mesmerized by Taylor singing voice I had no idea. What a sweet surprise and treasure I’ll be sure to catch more Taylor Swift songs from here on out😂😂😂😂
I love how she used “Your midas touch on the Chevy door” as a reference to how like he/she maybe opened the Chevy car door and turned even the Chevy into a gold car door kinda like how even he/she had such priceless behavior” And how she used “november flush and your flannel cure” like how in november cold her face flushes bcuz she’s cold, and he/she hands over their jacket or flannel to make her feel warmer.. And how she used ” till someone’s on their knees and asks you” and not “down on one knee” like the person literally begged.. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY GENIUS
I think this song is not about a woman with drinking problems rather it’s about a woman who’s afraid of commitment. As champagne is a drink that’s used for proposals and the woman is afraid of commitment the song is called “Champagne problems”. She’s afraid of getting hurt so she said no and this is the after story of her thought that she thinks would be the guy’s reaction after getting rejected.
It seems to me that in 2019 Joe and Taylor thought they were ready to get married and then when he asked she said no and didnt know why. So they stayed together through the pandemic maintaining a relationship thinking mayb Taylor would be ready but she never was. Thats probably why so many of the songs are abt doubts and breaking up in most of the songs in Lover, Folklore and Evermore. I never believe a lot of what Taylor says. She is as cryptic as her songs. For some reason some of you think that her songs are always abt one specific relationship. In the beginning when she was first writing songs thats probably true. Now tho she has had lots of relationships and friends in relationships and so her songs are more likely a combination of all of it.
“Your Midas touch on the Chevy door” I think this lyric means that for whatever reason the car that the guy drove for the girl he was gonna propose to won’t be used because it brings back memories. It relates to Midas in the tales as everything turns to gold and cant be used to his detriment. It connects to the lyrics “You took the night train for a reason” also connects to it since he won’t use his car so he goes on a train instead to try and drown out the memories.
I rejected my bestfriends love for me 6 yrs ago because i thought his love for me is so overwhelming and im afraid i cant give him the love he deserves. But we still keep in touch until i moved to another city to study. Now he’s getting married and im so broken. That could’ve been me if i was brave enough to take the risk. He still wants to keep our friendship but i know it’s like stabbing myself a million times. Im letting you go now nivs. I’ll love you always.
First time when she said “not a lot going on at the moment”, she released folklore\r Second time when she said the same thing, she released a whole movie and now a whole new freaking album after folklore this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!\r That’s why Taylor is not the artist of the decade, she is the artist of the century.
Her songwriting makes even better and better and that sets her apart from other artists today even they are in their prime. Taylor is just a classic example of a musician that doesn’t need to belt or do a lot of vocal placements just to catch your attention. Her lyrics will do it for you to listen to her music.
verse 1) you booked the night train for a reason so you could sit there in this hurt bustling crowds or silent sleepers you’re not sure which is worse (chorus) because i dropped your hand while dancing left you out there standing crestfallen on the landing champagne problems your mom’s ring in your pocket my picture in your wallet your heart was glass, i dropped it champagne problems (verse 2) you told your family for a reason you couldn’t keep it in your sister splashed out on the bottle now no one’s celebrating (chorus) dom pérignon, you brought it no crowd of friends applauded your hometown skeptics called it champagne problems you had a speech, you’re speechless love slipped beyond your reaches and i couldn’t give a reason champagne problems (verse 3) your midas touch on the chevy door november flushed and your flannel cured “this dorm was once a madhouse” i made a joke, “well, it’s made for me” how evergreen, our group of friends don’t think we’ll say that word again and soon they’ll have the nerve to deck the halls that we once walked through one for the money, two for the show i never was ready so i watch you go sometimes you just don’t know the answer ’til someone’s on their knees and asks you “she would’ve made such a lovely bride what a shame she’s f+cked in the head,” they said but you’ll find the real thing instead she’ll patch up your tapestry that i shred (chorus) and hold your hand while dancing never leave you standing crestfallen on the landing with champagne problems your mom’s ring in your pocket her picture in your wallet you won’t remember all my champagne problems (outro) you won’t remember all my champagne problems
I might like this one more than exile. I’m not sure, but it just hits in a way that exile doesn’t. It’s like exile tells you straight up you’re going to be broken, hurt, dark, surrounded by this pain that the melody reinforces. Champagne Problems has a way of lulling you into almost believing you’ll be okay. The piano is sweet, gentle, and so is her voice, until you listen to what she’s saying and you hear the pain and the tragedy hiding behind a thin veil of major chords and a gentle voice. It’s a very different experience for both but so well done.
THEORY: This song is linked with The One. The One is from the woman’s perspective after she rejected his proposal. “Been saying yes instrad of no” I think that line is about how she said no to him. “You know the greats films of all time were never made.” Their relationship was supposed to be like a movie but it couldn’t happen because she said no to him. “In my defense, i have none for never leaving it well enough alone” After she said no she regretted it because she saw him with her new lover so she could never leave the idea of sating yes instead of no alone. “You meet some woman on the internet and take her home” after she said no, he found another woman then take her home and make her meet with his parents. “You know the greatest loves of all time are over now.” they were over again because of the rejection . “I, I, I persist and resist the temptation to ask you If one thing had been different Would everything be different today?” If one thing had been different and she said yes instead of no would everything be different? “And it would’ve been sweet If it could’ve been me” She regreted she said no and now that she saw him with his fiancee she thinks it wouldve been sweet if it wouldve been her. And lastly, “In my defense, I have none For digging up the grave another time” now she’s trying to dig up the grave, the pain of rejection of him and trying to learn if she said yes now, would anything change? Anyways, this is just my theory. You may or may not find it accurate. Thanks for reading until here and hope you have a great day!
i never thought any of taylor’s songs could top all too well or exile, but then she goes and makes THIS. MASTERPIECE. I’ve never even been in a relationship yet this song made me cry INSTANTLY. the nuances of her lyrics, from “you had a speech, you’re speechless”, “till someone’s on their knees and asks you”, and the transformation from “my picture” to “her picture”, then how she subtly hints at the mental instability of her character, “this dorm was once a madhouse… it’s made for me.” MASTERPIECE.
