How Does Stiorra Kill Brida?

In the Last Kingdom, Brida, a Danish queen, is killed by Uhtred’s daughter Stiorra, who blames her for everything that went wrong with Sigtryggr. Stiorra blamed Brida for everything up to Sigtryggr’s death and blamed her for everything that went down before. Uhtred sees Brida, his childhood companion turned lover turned enemy, in the Great Hall, drinking and laughing.

Brida castrates Young Uhtred and hunts down Stiorra, who is now a Danish queen. Her war with Stiorra gets vicious, and she massacres innocents to coax her into revealing herself. Stiorra calls Uhtred out on his loyalty to the Saxon crown, sometimes even over his own family. She had to kill Brida because Uhtred could never give her the release she badly needed.

In the series finale, Stiorra remains in the Reading Room with Sigtryggr, reading from one of the books but quickly growing tired of it. She plans to kill a hostage, meaning Stiorra, as Edward is threatening to burn the kingdom. However, Brida ends up castrating one of Uhtred’s sons and later threatens to kill Stiorra.

In the last season, Brida shoots an arrow into her heart, killing Father Aldwyn for beaten and torn her dress. She falls in love with Sigtryggr and marries him. If The Last Kingdom continued into season 6, the production likely would have told an altered version of the Saxon Stories’ saddest story. Stiorras murder. In the books, Sigtyggr’s uncle, Skoll Grimmarson, tries to take over Stiorra and Sigtyggr’s rule in Eoferwic. Skoll kills Stiorra when she tries to fight back. Sigtryggr died in season 5, so the writers would have had to change the story. Skoll wouldn’t attack Stiorra without Sigtyggr.
