Uhtred and Brida fight in the series, leading to a battle at Eoferwic. Brida plans to kill a hostage, meaning Stiorra, as Edward threatens to burn the kingdom. However, Sigtryggr refuses to allow it, instead telling Stiorra that she shot the arrow that killed Brida after she fought with Uhtred but wouldn’t kill him.
The series stays true to the books, with Stiorra and Uhtred trying to figure out what was happening. They head to Edward to get him not to attack Sigtryggr before he attacked. Fans hope the series stays true to the books, with Stiorra killing Brida.
In the source material, Brida becomes Uhtred’s rival and is hacked with a sword by Stiorra. Uhtred escapes with the help of the keep’s women and takes shelter in the sewers. Brida begins killing innocents to coax her into revealing herself, and Uhtred receives a powerfully sad moment when Stiorra dies before her husband, Sigtryggr, who was executed by Uhtred.
In the books, Stiorra kills Brida out of revenge after everything that went down with Sigtryggr. Before leaving, Brida warned Uhtred she would have her revenge, so it is highly likely they will run into each other again in season five.
