The survey found that having a great marriage did not make people more likely to regret having an affair. People who had affairs said they were very happy with them and did not regret having them. Thank you for educating us on some of the many excuses women use to justify cheating, but men aren’t responsible for their happiness, and her happiness is an unmaintainable goal. If you don’t go to work and make her money, she’s unhappy. If you go to work, she’s unhappy. If you say the wrong thing, she’s unhappy. If you don’t say the right thing, she’s unhappy. If you don’t read her mind, she’s unhappy. The list of reasons women are unhappy is unending. i prefer life without terrorism and disloyalty; it’s so much more peaceful, and i have no desire to keep any woman from her cheating.
All it takes is your GF or wife going “dry” on you, and then coming home late one night, and your nose smells the scent of another man on her, to know that it’s over between you and her. If she’s sleeping with another man, she’s moved on from you, time to ask her to leave and don’t come back. She’s not your woman, it’s just your turn. Been there, done that.
On women feeling neglected. For example: If the man works constantly to provide for their well-being, she may say “you neglect me cause you’re always at work” OR… the other way round, she may say “you’re not providing enough money, so I feel that I’m not important to you, I guess you’re a loser”. Especially beautiful women get bored because they get plenty of male attention and the “grass is always greener” somewhere else. Subconsciously, women will go looking for something (anything!) to be unhappy about in their man, and that “defect” which they inevitably will find, provides them with the motivation and “legitimacy” for cheating (or leaving). And all of this, without feelings of guilt, because hey: It was her mans fault, certainly not hers! She had no choice, she just had to do it – how dare you think otherwise! 😂😂
Her not being 100% sexually satisfied is a reason for her to cheat, but she can refuse to have sex with him for months or years and still he is not expected to cheat. “Just leave or divorce?” Why does the man have to lose half of everything he owns and spent his life building to get something that is part of the marriage agreement in the first place? If you disagree with that, think – a man agrees to protect and provide for a wife. All most men really expect is regular sex. They will even put up with a woman who doesn’t work, cook, clean, etc. as long as he still has exclusive sexual access.
I was cheated on with a woman who was seeing a guy I knew on the side. It was a long distance relationship and she was tired of it after awhile so I wasn’t surprised it happened. Looking back as it was years ago I took it pretty well because I did see the humor as it seemed like a country music song, “my girl cheated with friend and my heart is broken.” They lived in the same town and she was starting to flake out on me over little things so it wasn’t a big surprise and, to be honest, she was a loose cannon popping off about about this or that minor thing. I was glad she was gone when it ended because I kind of felt I liked myself too much to put up with her nonsense. I see the sunny side in life. I saw that I never married her. I never had children with her and when it ended there was nothing to keep us tethered. It was a clean ending and no baggage so I got off the hook easily and a bruised ego mends rapidly.
The real question is, why is it that any reason a woman has for cheating is an acceptable excuse, yet a man is never excused for cheating, even when his gf or wife is treating him terribly and withholding sex for months or even years? There is ALWAYS an excuse when a woman cheats and it’s never her fault, while there is NEVER an excuse for men to cheat and it’s always his fault. Oh yeah, almost forgot, when she cheats, that’s always his fault too!
Great discussion. There are only a couple of things where my experience differs a little in some cases. The first is that I have had a few relationships where the woman was intent on getting physical as a path to her emotional connection, and I wanted to have at least some emotional connection first. And regarding the too-often repeated trope of low T, I will say that quite often it’s actually high B (as in, her bad attitude or behavior is the opposite of an aphrodisiac). Also, no, men are not just switched on instantly for sex, and when women act like they expect us to be, that also causes problems.
Wait, wait, why would I have to do anything to prevent cheating? A person, who would cheat because of ANY reason is disqualified in the first place. Period. If she wants anybody else, she should finish the present relationship FIRST and THEN jump into the bed of another guy. Nothing excuses cheating. Monkey branching is disgusting.
Dear Anna: You are a brave woman for sure. To say “men and women are different” takes courage nowadays. Glad you have that quality; very attractive. Thank you for this topic, and for explaining it so well. Sometimes us men get a bad reputation because we are more visual, and as you explained, we need the physical to reach the emotional. Of course, there really is no good reason to cheat, but it helps to know and understand those reasons, and courses of actions to take to avoid them. I have never cheated, but have been cheated on. This definitely will help in the future. Thank you again for this topic. I hope you are having a great Sunday, and that you are happy. You really are beautiful Anna. Bigger hug, and a big kiss on each cheek. Keep the WingMam posts coming.
She’d go mad if i even liked a picture of a female athlete in a bikini yet routinely flirt with men right in front of me and manufacture breakups to pursue other men. Something a bit Histrionic about her, emotional immaturity. Shallow and highly changeable emotions. I think she knew she lacked substance and that’s one of the reasons she still views me as her property but it is not love or empathy. No red pill frame stuff will work if a woman is like this. The only “frame” you can have is simply to walk away and avoid her trauma bond or stay and have the cycle repeated on you while your friends and family think the abuse can’t be that bad if you keep letting her back into your life.
Your insight is always spot on, Anna. I must confess that Ive been involved with a few women who cheated on their BF or husband with me because they were sexually deprived from their mates having ED. Years later in my late 40s, I also experienced performance issues that affected a relationship I was in, so I really empathize with all the men with this issue and no longer tempted to seize such opportunities from their misfortunes.
Cheating demands dishonesty. Lying, and its various forms, is a key characteristic that a cheater uses to be deceptive and betray their promise of fidelity. Cheating is stealing; stealing is taking something that does not belong to you. Cheating destroys trust, self-esteem, and safety. It also destroys self respect of yourself and of your spouse. Cheating is cruel and selfish. It is a deep wound and poison that damages severely all that it touches. Cheating never fixes, it destroys.
As a woman I like to say that it doesn’t matter If you’re man or a woman, If you’re not happy in your relationship, have a talk with your partner instead of cheating. I don’t understand why people hate clear communication and love to over complicate things and act passive-aggressive. Just tell them you’re not happy and your needs are not being met. It is a part of your human rights to express your needs. It doesn’t matter if it’s sexual or emotional, just talk about it and let them be aware of your feelings.
Thanks for letting me know that more on the nice guy topic in an upcoming article and i also forgot to say that this is another reason why i rather stay single forever too is because i don’t wanna say myself get hurt but getting cheat it on and most relationships don’t last forever that breaks ups happen i don’t want to go throught that at all i won’t not like it at all if i got cheat it on at all that’s why i now think that relationship are not worth it at all to some of us i know not all males and females cheat and only most realtionships last forever it all depends if it’s real true love which i know that i expiain it’s so hard to find there are most of them do cheat and most of us know there are some that don’t cheat i think it’s hard to find the one that would never ever cheat and when also the relationship does last forever i also want to let you know that i know some of us heard about the advice that there are plenty fish in the sea yes that’s true and males and females being difference yes that’s true too but at the sametime i do competely agree resonate most advice that some of us that are single that we don’t need someone to be happy this is why i love being single i have the freedom to do whatever i want do what makes me happy but i know that advice is not going to be for everybody meaning not everyone is going to agree that won’t resonate with that at all but there will be some that do resonate with that advice that’s ok too because everyone is difference i think it’s ok to be difference that’s what makes us unique
Topic: definitely useful. Reminders of things I know, but the reminders are needed. Outfit: wonderful. You make a simple design rock! Hair: astounding! Not sure what makes it so memorable, but I found myself staring at your locks almost immediately (and this is from a guy who doesn’t normally find redheads attractive). Bravo! Praying for you. — Russ P PS/Mr. T is still enjoying the warm sun on the deck.
Listen not fix is kinda tough. The British approach works well. 1) Mostly listen. 2) Wait for an opportunity to say something witty/endearing. 3) If she’s telling you about a serious problem that is a deal breaker and she is not going to fix it, decide to cut your losses then and there, cuz relationship is going to break anyway.
Why not just end the relationship? Have a sit down, explain where you are, and, whether they agree or not, tell them and leave. It’s better than deceit and betrayal. They cut deeper, especially when the recipient is doing everything humanly possible to nurture you and than some. It says that you have problems and are narcissistic.
If either party in a relationship feels a certain way they need to communicate it in an adult manner (or at least try). I have seen so many instances of dissatisfied women silently setting up an exit plan then burning the relationship to the ground all whilst enjoying the conveniences the other person provides. Even if the man is emotionally boned headed, he deserves to be told “it’s over” before the woman moves on. And I get there are times when women just want to get out and feel that their man will only argue with her if she is forthcoming, or wants to avoid negative backlash from him. However in a typical relationship(no DV, coercive control, obsessed partner etc) I see no excuse not to have the emotional maturity to clearly communicate intentions.
I enjoy perusal your articles.. many years ago when i was nice guy and yea was cheated on . More than once . I finally made me number 1 and those problems went away .. my reality is never care about anyone so much you can not walk away ..i was told once by a x i wish i knew you before you was not so mean. .yea you did
Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of blaming anyone for your problems. A woman who rejects you is nothing more than a preference like someone prefers grapes over apples at the grocery store. If you understand that concept you will spend less time bitter and more times learning from past mistakes and, most importantly, more time enjoying life. By all means, if you want to hold a grudge and blame someone who am I to argue with you but ultimately it never works. I’ve been rejected a lot in life for a lot of reasons but what I did most of the time (not every time) was not hold onto the rejection and move on. Years ago I had a job where I traveled for work and I was playing a tape in the car. A Ph.D had made this tape and said that all rejection is basically a preference and nothing more than on one occasion someone would rather a frozen yogurt over an ice cream so why get worked up? It was just a preference. It clicked with me and understanding that has been a great help in my life.
Single, Middle aged man here. Women approaching 40 years old become prowlers. I wish that I could say that I have always turned it down but I haven’t. I have learned to tell them up front that there is nothing out here that is better than growing old with an intact family. Few listen however as they are desperate to feel that they can still get attention from men.
Love the Canadian accent, especially the word out (owwwwwut). Can you please clarify two points you made? First, you mentioned that a cheater is 25% more likely to cheat in another relationship. What do you think the percentage is if the cheating person remains in that same relationship? Higher? Secondly, you mention a cheater is more likely to cheat the longer the affair went on. So is that to be interpreted as, a person is more likely to cheat if they were in a year long affair as opposed to a one night stand?
Well, women once they are in a high quality life (where the man help her come up from the dirt let’s say) she will have the upper hand, she will feel more attractive with others and just go for it forgetting what you’ve done for her and all your hard work you put in it, that’s big difference between man and women
It is such an important article and an information Anna and it’s an eye opening as well. I’m not in relationship you know I got rejected and I told you about that and tbh yes I thought about this many times that lack of emotional connections and discontent will led womans to look elsewhere and it happened always and many times and also the lack of sexual connection as well but mostly the emotional discontent is more dangerous and when we neglect exactly the emotional damaged and insecure woman then definitely they will cheat and look elsewhere where they can feel safe. In the bonus tip you said as a way out, maybe sometimes womans maybe forced into a relationship like the rose was engaged to cal with force in Titanic and then she suddenly cheated with jack to get out of that relationship with cal and it’s just a movie and we don’t need to apply it in real life big however maybe sometimes it happened I believe but not sure. So, even if I’m not in relationship with a woman but only a friend and she is insecure and emotionally damaged woman and I didn’t appreciated her enough, I didn’t given her emotional support enough then definitely she may go and find the new boyfriend right I mean a friend who was a man. So, the emotionally damaged and insecure woman who could hook up with many man right because of the emotional discontent and connections right and I know one woman as such.
Pay Attention !!! This so spot on.. She gave up her management position 3 days before we were to close on a house. It would have been costly to have backed but nothing compared to what I lost in the end. I took a second full time job to make up the short fall. She cheated on me, happening the exact way Anna describes. It ended and I found out after he date raped her. I took her back for fear of what might have happened to her if she went back to this clown. Don’t let this happen to you !!!
I have slept with a handful of married ladies in my past when I was told that past relationships was over and it was not. I think that a woman keep her true body count a secret to thair lots of secrets never shared between couples. I know that I have my own secrets I didn’t think that others need to know I have a tattoo that is a reminder know the real self and except others as they are ❤ thanks Anna
When someone has to begin a generalized conversation about gender differences, what’s already assumed? The best way to See ANY Character is to allow them to Demonstrate how they’ll apply their perceived Advantage’s. Especially when You understand why Your personally tailored epiphany is only waiting on reality to show up. Whenever a woman gives men advice, take notice of their analogies in their own attempts to Relate. When a man has a primary woman is his que, is there a real reason He want’s to hang out with Men? Over exposure to ANY “Single” personality can become overwhelming if given enough time. In terms of someone being delusional, one of the first signs is their overwhelming desire is to convince others they’re not seeing whatever for what it truly is by definition. When all else fails? They’ll try to change (Monopolize) the definition of whatever it is they desire most. The spirit of Greed comes in different flavors and knows how to hide it’s agenda.
So, first of all, thanks for putting in the effort. The article was constructive, positive and tried to be as honest as possible (up to and including the very last point, that if you follow the author’s guidelines it’s still not a panacea). The problem is, that this article may have been 100% effective 40 years ago, but these days with modern women, all those reasons for cheating are augmented – and likely mostly phased out – by things OUT of man’s control: active dislike of men based on gender, thanks to 3rd+ wave of feminism and woke indoctrination; unrealistic sense of self worth thanks to social media and online dating (where even a bleh below average woman can easily get male sexual attention by simply being available); unfair divorce and custody laws, which were designed to prevent a man in single-earner 1950s household from abandoning his wife and baby with no resources; but today are used overwhelmingly to deny men custody and financially ruin them to benefit women regardless of merits of the relationship or details of divorce. In other words, simply following the author’s guidance may have reduced the chances of woman’s cheating 40 years ago, but won’t be nearly as effective today.
I have two issues, kids and her anxiety. A couple weekends ago, we went to an André Rieu concert. We stayed the night at a hotel the night of the concert. It helped to connect until we came home to the kids. Her anxiety leads to depression and when she gets aggressive with me, I can’t be warm and cuddly. I have MS and this creates my own issues. If she freaks out because I’m having a bad day, sorry I can’t be romantic. Now, we have thrown spirited comments at each other. Oral sex today is yelling F U.
Mine was emotionally damaged. Her father put her, her mother and brother on a plane at Christmas and sent them from their west coast home back east to grandmother and told them goodbye. She was 7 and only saw him 5 years later at 12. We married and a few years later she left me after losing her job for the second time. Shes married to a man 30 years older now and they are practicing Buddhist. Oh well…guess she wanted a daddy back. Peace and good will! 🤗✌️🙏
A guy with no standards (or morals) may find more hook-up opportunities poaching women in relationships than unattached women. This could mean a lot of guys chose poorly on the front-end, aren’t doing regular maintenance on self and relationship, or both. Neither relationships nor many people seem to come in maintenance-free models.
“Connect on a deeper level”… in the words of Caribou Barbie, “drill baby drill!”. Never give a a cheater an opportunity to do it to you again. It’s more likely than winning the lottery and people buy lottery tickets, i.e. people believe that there’s enough of a chance to win the lottery for them to invest in it, so given it’s way more likely that a cheater will cheat again, don’t give them the opportunity.
