Groomsmen suits/tuxes. Groomsmen have traditionally paid for their own suits and tuxedos. These items can be expensive, so letting your groomsmen rent their attire is a more affordable option. • I’ve been told my entire life that adding the word “wedding” to anything makes it cost a premium. So when I bought my wedding dress it was technically a white Quinceanera dress. It was STUNNING; about a year after my wedding, Pippa Middleton wore what was basically a similar (but bajillion dollars more expensive) version of what I had. Obviously she has no idea I exist! Lol. But my point is that is was very classy-looking, and mine was like $79.

  • You, Tyler, and Leo make my day! When my husband and I got married we went to this beautiful chapel and it was just the two of us because my family didn’t approve of my husband being black and so they refused to help pay for anything and back then we didn’t have much so I never got a wedding dress. However, I did wear a nice black dress I already owned! It was an amazing day! 💖💖💖💖

  • I bought a wedding dress from David’s Bridal for $99 – might have been a bridesmaid dress but I was so obsessed with wanting a pale blue dress that I so don’t care. After all the years of perusal Say Yes to the Dress, I was honestly stunned when I saw the dress online, made the appointment at the store…and then it was what I imagined. So I had to make it a real appointment with more typical dresses but that moment came with the blue dress.

  • As someone who actually bought their wedding dress on Amazon for around $100, and completely loved it ( I actually thought the first dress was mine at first because it’s very similar, but mine was a little different). I totally got such a kick out of this article. It’s definitely possible to find a good cheap wedding dress online, you just need to do some research on it first. Reading reviews definitely helped me a lot.

  • When we Indians get married, 90% of the time the lehengas that the brides wear are a beautiful red colour and they are STUNNING so you’re completely right about the deep red gowns and honestly i think more people should start wearing them.🥰 Edit: I’m only talking about where I’m from and the weddings I’ve been to and not the whole of India. India is a beautiful diverse country with so many cultures and all of them are equally beautiful:)

  • Bought my champagne colored wedding dress from Anthropology for 80 dollars almost a decade ago. It was just hanging between the summer dresses section and had this cute cotton lace vibe. I really cannot take rough fabrics, so a lot of the cheaper wedding dresses were not for me. This dress also had something intricate in the back. It looked so classy 1930s and playful at the same time.

  • “I didn’t think of silky wedding dresses” My mum actually got married in a wedding dress made out of raw silk, my grandpa, her father-in-law, actually made it for her. She recently showed it to me, he did such a good job – I wish I could wear it too but the fabric shows every nook and cranny and crumbles as soon as you look at it 😀 she looked bomb in it though, she’s 5’11 and was serving draped 80s greek goddess 🙂

  • Love your honesty, transparency. You’re empathy.and I love the fact you are not overly sarcastic. Blah. I cannot stand once a website starts to get views they get so darn sarcastic. Also love the fact you buy the things that are real vs. Knock offs at a reasonable price because there’s no need to buy a thousand dollar dress for the article.

  • Got my wedding dress from Torrid – I think the list price was like $198 but we got it on sale for 60% off of that. Still a year out on the wedding, but I can’t tell you what a relief it was to find a dress I truly loved, that fit my personality, for such a good price. Felt like a good omen for the rest of my wedding planning!

  • I’m kinda confused why she decided to buy from fashion nova and not shein. Like she said fashion move was very cheap and she hadn’t seen prices that low yet but she literally just showed dresses that were the same price on shein. And the dresses on shein looked like actual wedding dresses worth hundreds of dollars and not a halloween costume or just a casual white dress like all the fashion nova ones.

  • I have basically the same body type as you and I always see you and think you look so beautiful, but when it comes to myself I have a hard time liking what I see in the mirror. I never see people online with my body type and I just wanted to let you know, even without knowing it, you have helped me so much with my confidence. Thankyou for that❤️❤️❤️

  • Lulu’s was a go to for my teen’s prom/formal dresses. She loved them, and they were so affordable. They were just like the pictures. She ordered a slightly more expensive dress from a different site for senior prom, and was lucky to get exactly what was in the photo, despite direct shipping from china (which she didn’t realize until after she bought it).

  • I wish there was such a thing as on line shopping when I was getting married. Haha. Honestly if I could go back and do it again I’d literally have the cheapest wedding ever. I’d but a cheap but pretty dress online or resale, use fake flowers as there are some very pretty fake flowers out there, and do a backyard reception pot luck style (which I recently heard of and it’s such a great idea actually).

  • I discovered your website earlier last week and I wanted to say: WOW! I love your personality, the rhythm and tone of your voice is energizing and soothing at the same time. I can clearly see how much time and effort you’ve put into your content creation career and I thank you for it ❤️ You’re amazing, keep shining your brightest 🌟😊

  • I spent $500 for my total wedding and reception. There was lots of wheeling and dealing and we got some amazing deals but we did it. We only had about 50 people at my wedding, so it was small but we had a full wedding ceremony and reception for $10 per guest. I was so SO SO stressed out but it came together amazingly. It turned out so good that when my best friend got married on a budget a few years later she asked me to take charge of the planning. Excluding her dress, which was bought by her dad, her total wedding and reception cost around $350.

  • I got my Valentines day wedding dress for 30 bucks on Amazon, couldn’t have been happier! Had beautiful three quarter lace sleeves, long enough to drag a little, absulutely beautiful and fit perfectly- not to mention it was super soft and comfy on the inside while waiting to get to that hotel lol! ❤️❤️❤️😁

  • Hey hope, I am a big fan of your website. I love perusal your articles and the first article I ever watched was your first rating YouTubers brand and hit subscribe being 5 seconds into the article.. no like actually. You ar e the first YouTuber who has grabbed my attention that quickly and I am excited to see what your website brings to keep me hooked!!!!

  • I’m probably not your normal demographic, I’m 44 and I recently found your website. it has been so helpful to me with finding quality products to order. so thank you. 😊 my daughter is getting married next April, and i have been looking for dresses with her on the internet and they all “look” beautiful in the photo but what would we really get??? This article is just what I needed! Thanks Hope. You’re a doll!❤

  • Your hard work on your articles truly shows. Thank you for putting in the work so we don’t have to 🤍 My best friends finally proposed to me, and perusal these types of articles from you bring me soooo much excitement for our wedding! We are def on a budget, and your articles help more than you know 🤍 I’ll try to win one next week!

  • I love your articles! Thank you for all the years of fond memories. ^_^ I just wanted to note something on the sponsor that I never see mentioned, and that is that if Honey can’t find you a discount, it will allow you to activate a thing that allows you to store up points from the money you spend. Then you can use the points to get gift certificates for places like the Google Play Store (and Apple equivalent). I buy my groceries online for delivery, so I always have points racking up, and I never spend any money on app games or things like that, because I have points from Honey to pick them up. 🙂

  • Omg I feel so dumb! I just found your website & thought you seemed legit… like so cool- so down to earth & totally bff material. So of course I couldn’t help but get hooked on the positive vibes you got going on, & started to binge watch SO MANY of your articles that I ended up subscribing to your website. Lol. However, it took me until this article to find out that the man I thought was your gay BFF, was actually your Husband!? Not just a boyfriend, but actual Husband… like Whaaaaaaat!? I mean props girl, but damn- get ‘em! 😜✌🏻 I hope he knows how lucky he is to have a bombshell like you! (Btw I’m totally straight but a girl has to recognize a beauty & you seem to have it all 😊). Anyway- SO sorry I had the wrong idea. 😬

  • I was married in 1971 when fashion was for slim, high-waisted dresses with long full sleeves. My mother made it for me from a bought pattern in white cotton with a satin stripe Regency stripe, rather Jane Austen. The bridesmaids wore the same in deep turquoise with short sleeves. It all worked out very cheap.

  • I feel like they give off more of a “we’re renewing our vowels” type dress. Or something you’d change into for your reception. Some were actually really pretty though! But again, for a vowel renewal, not your main wedding. Or!!!! If you’re getting married for a second (or third or fourth-no judgement!) they tend to be more low key so a lot of these dresses would be great for those occasions!

  • This is where I say I’m really happy my mother taught me how to sew. My local Goodwill wedding dresses with their special sale prices of 99 cents. Over the course of three years I bought 15 of them. So when the time comes I have ample amount of fabric, satin, tulle, boning, pearls and sparklies to create my perfect dream.

  • I got my wedding dress on Lulus out of desperation because David’s bridal ruined my original one. So I only had a month to find a dress and it worked out fine. I got the long sleeve lace with the keyhole back. It’s a very popular choice on the website. I wish I would have had the choices they have on there now!!! I would have loved to get a tulle a line dress with like spaghetti straps but I’m early 2018 they didn’t have it.

  • The ribbon on the belt is so long so that you have plenty of length to try it on no matter your size. When you take a gown to be altered, the seamstress will remove the ribbon and sew the embellishment to your dress. Also, if your dress doesn’t go on over your head, step into it instead. We tried not to do this too much at the bridal shop that I worked at but it did the trick sometimes. Thank you so much for this article!!!!

  • Good article. I am actually hoping that someday when I get married to make my own wedding dress. I already bought the fabric and it was definitely over $100 for the cream colored lace & metallic white to go underneath. But it will be a while before that happens. I have to have my guy actually ask me. Lol. Anyway, you look fabulous always. Peace love and stay fabulous. ✌💜🐕

  • So I actually bought my wedding dress from SHEIN! I bought a plus size dress that had balloon/bishop sleeves that were mesh with an embroidered floral design on the torso and sleeves. —- the dress looked terrible when I first tried it on. I went and found my old petticoat from prom, and it looked so much better with that! Now I have taken it to a seamstress who installed a corset back, and removed the cups that weren’t my size, and BOOM it’s absolutely stunning.

  • My husband and I decided to last minute elope to the Caribbean, and there was no time to find a dress, so I bought all of the amazon wedding dresses that were prime. By the time they came in I had already found a dress at the mall – for less than the Amazon dresses, with much better fabric. However – my Amazon veil, was a steal 🙂

  • I hope this message finds you well. If you buy more wedding dresses, you should consider donating them to your local hospitals. I work on the labor delivery floor in Iowa and we use donated wedding dresses to make little outfits for babies that pass away during delivery. The parents are offered the outfits when they leave the hospital for a memory keepsake. We has one of our personal nurses donate her own wedding dress

  • this article remembers my mother and father’s wedding, my father the day of the wedding at the last minute my mother’s shoes were not that good and my father need to cut the dress that was too long and sew it all around,…my mother’s dress be just perfect, they were married for 46 years, my father dies with Krebs but my mother care for him, always said my father give all to her and she wants to give to him all he did for her to the last moment, Even is the sad and happy history of my family, you husband is beyond the love man that people find, he cares and that is deep, happy honest happy for you, thanks for the article.

  • I was a bride in 1980 and I have to say I tried several gowns on at all price points. I had the type of body they all looked good. Tall and slender. I decided to buy the an Italian designer gown and veil at a local wedding boutique. The veil was more than the gown. About 180 and gown was 90 or so. Under 200. It was gorgeous. And on sale from $2000. The veil was on sale too. Yes you can find a good deal just have to look. My parents were paying so I tried to be frugal for everything. They payed for all the wedding too. His parents wouldn’t because he was married once already! Ugh

  • For the next wedding dress article you need to look at JJs House. I’ve ordered a few dresses and gowns from there and have yet to be disappointed. You can even get your dress custom fit before it ships if you provide measurements. Did I mention you can get ANY of the designs in ANY color?!?!?! You gotta give them a google.
