I’m not as tall as Andre was, but, at 6′ 5″ tall, I face a lot of the same problems Andre did on a daily basis. I get kids that stare at me, and even adults that give me an awkward stare when I come through doors. However, just like Andre, I pride myself on being a “Gentle giant.” When I see the look of trepidation on kids’ faces, I get down on the kids levels, and I tell them that the reason I’m as big as I am is because I had good role models that kicked me in the butt whenever I did something wrong as a kid. Another place where I have a problem with my size is when I go see people in the medical field. I was initially embarrassed when they told me I was their biggest patient, but, I’ve made it a habit of making doctors aware of my size beforehand, that way they’re prepared for me when I get there.
