Yes,,this is the problem which i m facing now a days..i hear the words which r not even told by inlaws..but dear, words r not the only thing which hurts ..smtimes,they kill us from their rude nd rough attitude towards us…i suggest only 1 thing to not to get very much emotionlly attached with ur inlaws,,they only make use of u and throw u away like a bee is thrown from milk when they get ur substitute ..
Normally I don’t like calling people through phone…It doesn’t mean I forgot them…I am busy in my world..My mother in law complains about me about not calling her.. Currently I am engaged only… and i am not able to create a bond with her. I am a person who don’t trust people much…so i always keep a distance…i dont know how to deal this kinda issues…. If anyone can give me any advice on this . Please do 🥺
I’m in with my in-laws since 7 years and they are still the same . I’m so depressed with little issues every time it’s my fault ( why ) now I’m suffering from mental illness anxiety issues whom should I blame I have three kids lots of home chores are my responsibility and after that I’m useless I do nothing, they said 😢😢
I feel that its hard to explain someone who is deaf n blind. They really become blind to acknowledge your goodness. In first place they should not marry their son. When son does something for his wife then they think why for only? Or in case why for her? This should have been mine not hers . If this was the case then they should have kept their son unmarried n have taken or enjoyed with him whole life but no they need someone to torture abuse, put someone down. Horrible relationship is this. Feel ashamed of this.
It is gud to stick to this advice if it is not said dont assume but honestly in Indian society it dsnt wrk tht way specificaly in case of in laws rather this rule is gud for corporate world but not for in laws they r so opiniated nd if u dont read between the lines and actions nd b that flamboyant girl u wil hv to hear lot of things related to ur unserious nature nd ur upbringing

I face that every time I visit them. They say they are liberal but their ideas of liberal do not match with mine. According to them I can wear anything I want in my daily life in the city, but if I have to visit them I have to wear kurti only. I do not like wearing kurti and I say it to them they go like “wear Saree’s”. They try to manipulate that her daughters also wear the same ways. How do I tell them I’m not living the life of their daughters. I’m in my own life with my own ideologies.
This isn’t applicable for joint families… especially wherein there are 2 DILs, and one never misses a chance to be tagged as a good bahu… always faking up.just for the credit.. it is stressing and toxic. Expressing your tastes and choices honestly under such circumstances becomes a big problem.. comparisons and judgements come.. which are disturbing
Love the content! But the two faced hypocrisy of in-laws is what causes conflicts. They have different behaviour and expectations between two daughter-in laws, two sons etc. The younger one is always expected to follow the elder and if they take a different stand, they are criticised and taken for granted. Best is to just ignore and not care about log kya kahenge, if you think you are right, go for it. 👌🏼
All of this was so natural to me after marriage…. I did adjust initially but soon I started to confront as I am my own person…. now I care and be kind to in laws but I definitely stand up for my things. v can excuse parents in laws due to generation gap but the sad part is own age group sister in law who actually is more or less like us in her life style, she creates conflicts and comments at us for taking stand.
Mam,I want to study and persue Phd but somehow my mother in law don’t want me to be an independent women, she wants me to be a house wife and do household chores….she always give me some house hold works so I don’t get the time to study, she wants me to wear kurti everywhere,I don’t have a problem with it but she wants me to wear everything of her choice, starting from my bangles to dress to everything which is according to me is not right…I am just 24 yrs,She always taunts me by comparing herself with me. I don’t want to get separated and I also don’t want to hurt her by saying something rude😞
If I confront they say that I’m getting stressed and that’s making them unhappy. They tend to focus a lot on how I say than what I say. If I say in a quiet way they brush it under the carpet. Then if I express my disagreement or dislike in more clear words then they get into a mode of pacifying me and saying that whatever they do is for my best as they know better due to experience
Hi Love Your article I was searching on youtube so many times that how i can manage my in laws after marriage its been only 3 an a half months to my marriage and my saas questioned my upbringing for not doing jharu pocha … while she knows that i am 2 an a half months pregnant and i puke every single hour. Its hurts me so much that i couldn’t say her anything but i came back to my mother’s house than my mother said to me to confront her but in a respective way tell her that you can’t do it while pregnancy and it is not a big deal. My mother in law really really want me to pierce my nose…which I really really don’t want to, I have conveyed while talkin’ tht I have thought about this b4, I really find it gross so I don’t want to do it, but she keeps telling about traditional about nose piercing, and wants me to do it still, I kept saying okok till now…but she has given me date and time to do it now. Please please help me, how to deny in polite way.
As a boy… I can say this much only ki aaplog parivar dekh ke shaadi kiya kro. Unhi ideologies kaisi hain.. aapse match krti hain ? Ye sab bhi matter krta hai. Nhi to baad mein miscommunication aur duriyaan badhti hain.. uss chakkar mein society mein ye rumour fail jata hai ki saare inlaws orthodox conservative hote hain..
