  • For MANUAL Transmission: Start the engine, shift to 4WD High and then depress the clutch all the way and engage 4WD Low. This stops the blinking of “Lo” light indicator. Engage the Dff lock and if it continues to flash, turn the wheel in either direction and move front or back to engage the diff lock (pin). Disengage is the reverse.

  • I’ve literally never pushed the button labeled RR DIFF LOCK on my 4×4 Tacoma. If I ever get blind drunk and feel daring, I’ll try it sometime and hope nothing tears up. I like Toyota trucks, but they aren’t bulletproof. They have parts failures just like every other brand in my experience. And I’m very easy on a truck: in 7 years I’ve never once taken my Tacoma off road. The undercarriage is perfectly clean.

And this worked for you because you had it enabled, parked, disabled it, then started the article with the locker already aligned? (I just got a Tacoma and have so far failed to get the rear to lock.)
