Summary: The Wizard Tower is a rock tower with a wizard on top. It can damage both ground and air units, but only at short range. The Wizard Tower is good at killing groups of troops. The Wizard Tower is more effective against higher health troops like Giants and targets air troops in addition to ground troops. Unlike the Mortar, it has no blind spot. The Wizard Tower’s arcane blasts do less damage per shot than the Mortar, but it has a much higher rate of fire. This makes the Wizard Tower an excellent choice for defending other structures by blasting troops that get too close. Fight for those who will remember you.

📹 Every Jane Austen Adaptation Ranked from Worst to Best
It’s time to rank the Jane Austen adaptations from worst to best. For this list, we’ll be looking at some of our favorite on-screen …
I like the 2005 P&P version best. I believe it best portrays Lizzie’s sense of fun and personality and the building blocks of her prejudice best. Although the ending was acceptable, it was not as good as it could have been. It did not show the utter elation Darcy had at Elizabeth’s acceptance (finally) of his marriage proposal as portrayed in the book. He is is too serious or reserved. And then Elizabeth totally breaks the mood with “your hands are cold” which is unfortunate putting it mildly, plus then he immediately puts a cold hand to her cheek. I believe they tried to save it by adding the last scene. Overall though I love this version. The worst version deserves as little attention as you gave it, the 1940’s version. Hollywood did a number on it, so much so as to change the story almost unrecognizably.
Shocked that the 1980 BBC Pride and Prejudice with Elizabeth Garvey and the awesomeness of David Rintoul’s performance as Mr. Darcy was not included!! If you have not watched this version, please do so!!! The only sad part was the color quality when they were filming outside scenes. Mr. Darcy almost melted my tv set and Elizabeth was spot on!!!
I do agree that the best adaptation of Pride and Prejudice was the 1995 A&E with Colin Firth. The best Persuasion was definitely the one with Amanda Root. As for Mansfield Park, none of the ones mentioned were true to the book. The one I like the best was not even mentioned. It was the 1986 adaptation with Silvestra Le Touzel and is so true to the book and portrays Fanny Price as a loyal, loving, faithful person whose greatest strength of character is that she never wavers in her actions concerning what is right. That is to be admired. Fanny Price may not be a favorite Jane Austen character because in the other stories female character personalities are flawed in some way. Even Jane Elliot was persuaded to refuse Wentworth, but Fanny was always constant and respectful. Anyway, my favorite Emma for years was the one with Kate Beckinsdale until the 2022 version came out which is now my favorite. And, yes I agree Beckinsdale’s Lady Susan was excellent. Emma Thompson’s Sense and Sensibility will always be my favorite. The characters were so well done though not everything was exactly to book but hers was a film adaptation and some parts of the story had to be left out due to run time. I have not seen Sanditon yet though I have read the book. Northanger Abbey is another I like very much, but there don’t seem to be any other versions.
1) Any serious ranking of the filmed adaptations must include the BBC series productions, most notably the 1980 “Pride and Prejudice” and the 1981 “Sense and Sensibility”. They are every bit as fine as any of the movie versions if for no other reason than their extended, multi-part format allowed a much truer rendering of the books. 2) A minor quibble: The correct title of the 2020 film (with Anya Taylor-Joy) is not “Emma”, but “Emma.” (I.e. note the period in the name). 3) And to recommend a personal favorite “spin-off” adaptation, I would heartily recommend the 2008 “Lost in Austen”. This is something every Janeite should see. It’s clear that the makers of the series real knew, understood and —most importantly— loved Austen’s work (as opposed to many of the sillier things, like Pride&Prejudice&Zombies where it’s easy to come away with the idea that the makers had never actually read a word of Austen.)
I fell in love with Sally Hawkins with her portrayal of Anne in the 2007 Persusion! Amazing actress!! I love her all the more for being awkward! She doesn’t have to be a modern fierce woman to be a great character! Watch it again MsMojo!!! Also, Matthew MacFadyen was imo the best Darcy! I could never relate to the Colin Firth character and I just didn’t believe he was really in love with Elizabeth even at the end! Whereas Matthew MacFadyen was consumed with love for wanting Elizabeth and his Pride and Prejudice had such a believable and heartfelt ending!!
I agree with this analysis. I totally adored 1995 P&P. It is wonderful. I remember perusal Lizzie (Jennifer Ehle) through Colin Firth / Darcy’s eyes, and thinking, ‘wow, I totally get why he is falling for her’. I did enjoy Persuasion 2007, I think this ranking was s little unfair. Funnily enough, I did enjoy Persuasion 2022, but possibly for all the wrong reasons! I laughed a lot…
Pride and Prejudice is my favorite; both versions. When I have the time to watch hours and hours of tv, I love the Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle version. The cast was great, the Bennet sisters and Mr. Collins were so silly. (I remember telling my mother that he was just so “wonderfully awful.” (Not Jane of course.) But I also love the Keira Knightley-Matthew McFadden version when I just want to view it within 2 hours. It condenses the action to the best parts and moves along quickly. The music was so beautiful and the opening credit music and that played by Georgianna was not even written during the actual time period. The cast and the acting in that version are also wonderful. Can’t you just wring Lydia’s neck? Mr. Collins was well cast in both too; you just love to hate him. Can you imagine poor Charlotte having to be married to him? The scenery is so nice, and the statues in Pemberly always have me in awe, especially the woman with the veil. I always wonder how someone was able to carve that and make it look like you could see through it. Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, and Kate Winslet is next. It was hard to be a woman in Austen’s time.
