How To Match A Green Dress For Guys?

Green is a versatile color that can be worn in various ways depending on your skin tone and hair color. To create a flattering green outfit, experiment with different shades and materials. Dark green hues and olive and khaki tones are flattering for men, while simple color combinations help highlight green garments and avoid clashing. Black is a must-have for every man, skin tone, and body type.

When selecting a prom dress, consider your skin undertone, which can greatly influence how different shades look on you. Matching belt and shoes is essential, as the more contrast there is between your beltstrap and shoes, the less stylish your outfit will appear. Incorporating key workwear pieces like logger boots, heavy flannel shirt, brown work pants, and grey zip-up fleece will make the look feel authentic without looking like you’re playing dress up.

Contrast is key when choosing colors for clothing, with light top, dark bottom, light shoes, dark top, light bottom, and dark shoes. Avoid tonal outfits, as they can look terrible. For an emerald green dress, consider pairing it with a black suit, grey, or dark grey suit.

For bridesmaid dresses, gray suiting or black tuxedos are recommended, and pink accessories are a must. For a stunning and coordinated outfit, try pairing a black suit with a green vest and tie, or a grey suit with a emerald green vest and bowtie.

  • The 2:28 hit home with “tangerine orange shirt, for some reason. I don’t know why you’re wearing that.”!! 😦😦 That’s exactly what I have! D: So glad you gave these tips though, I never know what to wear. I used to wear just any colour with any colour of cargo shorts or blue jeans, but now I’m starting to care but have no clue…

  • Hi, I have most of my outfit pieced together right now and they’re mostly menswear neutrals (olive green field jacket, black combat boots, black jeans). What color t-shirt should I wear with them? My friend recommended white and you recommended gray, which I agree with, though I don’t have many white or gray shirts. I’m not sure if something like black or red would work.

  • I am the Chino expert. I’ve worn chinos since 1990, and back then the best were from Banana Republic. This was when BR was mostly safari wear, so the chinos were great quality with cuffed hems. After that JCrew became the go to. Always pair them with Converse Jack Purcells, until now. It’s a classic style that’s timeless. My recommendation today would be Wallace and Barnes Officer’s Chino from JCrew. They are perfect! Not high or low waisted with just a slight taper, and comes with button fly. For warmer weather the Todd Snyder Modern Chino. Drawstring with cuffed hems, and a good amount of taper to wear with sockless sneakers. BTW, white chinos are my favorite. I don’t know why you don’t like them. White is classy, nautical, and very dapper.

  • I own at least a dozen pair of chinos and wear them nearly every day. They are far more comfortable than jeans and since I work in a business casual environment and no longer need to wear a suit, I can either pair them with a oxford cloth button down or a polo shirt and a pair of loafers or camp mocs. On weekends, they work just as well with a t-shirt and my Stan Smiths.

  • Levi’s 502 sta prest pant is the original chino that Steve McQueen made famous. Good luck finding them. Also the Levi’s 508 line 6 is a Jean cut chino that copied the 502. Both are lightly tapered and come in a variety of colors. 502 and 508 make cords too. These are the only casual pants I buy and both are technically discontinued. If given a choice always opt for 508 ( more comfortable). Also the 502 make a denim which I recommend against but the 508 jeans are great.

  • I think the best part about this article is every single dude you’ve shown is a model in great shape. You know what looks good on models who are in good shape: everything. I’m in okay shape certainly not as good a shape as I was when I was 21 but I have a feeling I’m not going to look as good as those fellas. Thanks anyway cute article I guess

  • @mensfashioner PLEASE put out a article on how to wear a sports jacket casually and the different types of sports jackets. I’ve tried this with a black blazer and jeans and it just DOES NOT look right and there are no good articles that I’ve found explaining this, BUT I LOVE the look when it’s done right. PLEASE HELP! Also, where can I find shorts above the knee? I hate this below the knee shorts look that is everywhere now and I can’t seem to find any “90s shorts”? Even Ralph Lauren doesn’t carry them. Sincerely, A gentleman In Need

  • Don’t know if my butt it so freaking flat, or if my lower back is a lot uglier and fatter than I imagine, but chinos (all pants really) constantly settle into a sag. It’s annoying. Belt or not, fit or not. Can’t explain it. I’m 5’8″ and it’s kinda hard to find well fitting pants. A 30 length seems to always mean wider or heavier body type than mine.

  • chinos, the ultimate geriatric pants for gents of all ages. Just like a bomber jacket. I will stick to jeans, anywhere you can wear chinos, you can also wear a dark wash or black jeans too. Otherwise, wool grey trousers will do nicely. Jeans have both warm and cold weather fabrics these days, for all seasons.

  • Oooh, yeah, sorry. Wool is a FAR more versatile fabric. Tropic wool exists. Wool blends exist. Wool – silk, wool – linen, and wool – cotton are all pretty accessible pant types, cut in a variety of fits. Here in Canada, both Jack Victor and Gala make beautiful wool blend pants for all seasons. A natural fibre that definitely works beautifully in the fall and winter but actually breathe in the spring and summer. Also not really sure why every single stock pic used is basically leggings tight 😂 Guys don’t have nice enough ankles for an overly short fit half the time, and suggesting mocs as a shoe to be worn year round is just 😂 As an aside, if you pinch the side of the pant (just a half inch from the seam), you’ll create a slight taper that will give a more even and reliable cuff on ANY pant. Selvedge jeans, chinos, heavier wool pants? All great looks. BUT using a cuff on an overly light pant (fully linen in particular) is better to avoid cuffs. They tend to wrinkle the fron of the pant more often than not, and usually don’t have the weight to hold the cuff’s shape. My recommendation is seeking out a linen blended pant if that’s your jam. Not only will it hold its shape far better, but it’s also less finnicky as a ready to wear pant. I’ll also say, be mindful wearing high end fabrics. The less you have to care for them, the better. Jeans enthusiasts recommend not washing after every wear (obviously, if you’re actually getting them dirty, there are exceptions).

  • These looks never feel functional to very active days. More like your leisure days and a meeting or like the 8 hr desk job. Business casual. Thats why i tend to just use the color scheme and hybrid fashion. Nice top…with a more functional, flexible, and breathable bottom (nothing too gody but may have a few nin streamline features but nothing Loud.) Optimal. Authentic.

  • Most of the photos in that article the chinos are high waters and skinny leg pants. Not the look I’m going for. You were recommending lower rise pants. I refuse to wear any low rise pants. I like all pants to be at my natural waist where a gentleman’s pants should be. It is uncomfortable to me to have a waist that crosses my hip bones. Add a belt and it becomes almost painful. I’m a man and I need some room down there. Some of these examples look like the guy must have gotten himself castrated. Wearing some of those pants would have me singing soprano. I think, hopefully, we are going away from the high water, low rise, skinny leg look.
