I can’t stop. I can’t get prescribed cuz we were/are ttc and no psych in the area we moved to will touch me without birth control. But none the less. I know my anger is anxiety drivin I try and tell him but it’s just idk im drowning. Clearly after reading comments there’s no hope for me. I should just set him free
My wife endlessly yells at my 4 children and me. I poor through help articles hoping to find a way to get through to her. I try to remain calm and can do so for weeks, but eventually, I yell back and then she turns everything around ignoring the weeks of abuse and blames me for everything she did. We have been together for 12 years now. the first 4 were great. She always had a spitfire attitude, but it was controlled until about 8 years ago. Now it’s like everything sets her off. For example, we started decorating for our now 5-year-old birthday party yesterday. It got late we had some friends come over and she told me that we would finish in the morning. I woke up this morning to her yelling and screaming at the top of her lungs that I won’t help her decorate and I don’t give a bleep about her. This was at 630 in the morning mind you and what I woke up to. I responded that you said we were doing the rest in the morning, and she yelled some obscenities and took off in our van. She also yelled at our four kids while this was going on as well as her mother who is living with us to help with the kids. Her mom hides in the basement anymore unless she is perusal the kids because she is the target of my wife’s furry while I am at work. \r \r She won’t get help. She refuses to see how she is, and she blames everyone for everything and makes them pay for it even if they have nothing to do with it. I don’t want my family to break up but I also don’t want my kids to grow up like this. They are starting to emulate her behavior and it terrifies me.
Every time I talked like this tomorrow my partner he would come at me with something worse. He wouldn’t let me say, please don’t let ur friends talk bad about me, or you shouldn’t behave like that… Then he would be like, “I’m not interested in you no more… or this is never going to work.. or we’re not right for each other. The last time he told me he had been seeing someone else and wanted to be with them. then I lose my shit and start yelling. Yeah. We broke up
Saying I’m sorry you feel that way is highly provocative and creates conflict. You’d be better off saying I’m sorry that what I did hurt you. An apology with contrition goes a long way toward healing for the other person. I’m sorry you feel that way is disparaging and patronizing. It’s indicates a person is more concerned with the hurt persons feelings as an inconvenience to them. I’m surprised you used that term. You should listen to Dr Ramani ‘s lectures on narcissism which addresses this phrase. Perhaps you won’t use it next time. Personally I feel it’s offensive loaded with mockery and contempt. I ran across this site by accident and happened to listen to your comments. I don’t know what your qualifications are and I’m not really interested after hearing that. I can guarantee I won’t be back for more.
Hi everyone, I’m wondering if anyone could help me out. Today my boyfriend got really mad at me because I had a depressive episode. I’ve suffered with bad thoughts my entire life. I’m 25 & we met when I was 20 & I’ll admit I was more care free, life got really hard for me and we went through a period where we couldn’t stop fighting and after lexapro I feel ok but not better. So today I was just really upset having woken up past noon, missing my therapy hit with a late fee, and I lost my key for my job so I had to deal with hr/boss etc… I had an episode I was crying sobbing and at some point it turned into an argument because he said things like you’re a constant cloud in my life, you’re always sad, said my depression is draining which i acknowledged although I know I’m not always in a mood like that. I said then why are you with me? And it triggered him. He’s like that’s the only thing you can offer like you can’t say you’ll try to not be sad/depressed. The thing is I am trying hard. I can’t do a lot of things 100% but I’m trying to hype myself up and just feel ok. At some point he just says oh my god let’s stop talking about feelings it’s been like 2 hours and I get it could be a lot. But he told me to stfu, that maybe if I had “more self respect ” then people would respect me. And after having been in a lot of arguments I notice he always ends up yelling at me, I asked if he respected me and he said “well now you think that I don’t clearly” and I feel bad now. I’m trying to talk things out but I told him I don’t feel loved because my depression is too much to handle for him.
I’m a yeller, and it’s so sad because I know this is because of how I was raised. I don’t even think I know how to communicate in a healthy way anymore, and I know it’s destroying my relationship. He told me just the other day, that I have a temper that he loves me, but he cannot be screamed at any longer. I think it’s time I get some help. 🙁
Being yelled at makes me resent my partner. Makes me want to leave her. Makes me feel unloved and disrespected. Makes me feel that I can’t be around her anymore or I will either hurt myself or retaliate. Especially when the yelling is followed by a I’m sorry, but you don’t listen or you push me to this level. Then continues to raise her voice and gets mad when I don’t want to be around her.
I feel people yell when they are hurt and disraspectied. I’ve read other comments saying they are yelled at due to their girfiend feeling not listened to. I can understand this. Even through its not productive. Nor is ignoring or having her feel her feeling have no value to be heard. It takes two to change the pattern not just the yeller.
My partner yell at me because the only house key was lost and we’re about to go out for my bday dinner. So i told him to cancel the grab that was already downstairs so we could try looking for the key first. Anyway he ended up yelling i pack my things and leave ( i was visiting him from another country). I did took my suitcase and took my clothes from the closet then he quickly apologizes but the moment we were out the elevator he proceeded to say im having attitude. To which i replied it was not having an attitude but bcs of how he’s treating me because of a problem. I’ve already verbalized before that i dont tolerate shouting well. He has anger and patience issues and i might have occasional attitude but he must really recognize the difference between a reaction due to the way the situation is being of managed.
I don’t like this stigma that if you yell on rare occasion that you automatically lose all humanity as a person. Especially when after such a long period of verbal abuse, you just finally lose your temper in your own defense. I’ve considered taking my own life over the guilt. Maybe I’ll give them what they want. Obviously I’m not worth this life.
What should I do in the moment when my husband yells? If we are home, I can walk away. If he does it around our kids, I feel like I just need to be quiet so it doesn’t escalate. This will happen when we are on vacation, for example. I then feel trapped because we have an audience and I don’t want to argue in front of them. But when he yells, so much anger wells up inside of me because I am being so disrespected.
I’m kind of a boisterous yeller. My mom WOULD NOT LISTEN to me, and we were having quite an argument, and I tried to be firm, and I got very angry, and YELLED, and I don’t think my wonderful mother ever deserves to be yelled at. I really deserve a peaceful relationship, with my mother. and I love her dearly, as her sweet son. Half of my day and night, went wonky, in a BANG! I apologize for the drama, I’m kind of a drama queen sometimes. 😁
My roomate and her husband fight all the time. He bangs on my front door and the police are always here. I have to stay at a respite just to recover from the abuse between them. I don’t like being around it. I take a walk when they fight because I’m next in line to get my own apartment with psch/welllife network, I don’t want to get involved. Sometimes I think they do it to get me out of the house. Thank you and God bless
I yell way too much and the whole street can here. I’ve been trying fix it. My gf of 27years is over it. I just get triggered. People start explaining why they did it and I jyst start going off. I try to hole it in. And stay calm but it like they want me to believe bs. I feel like I just can’t wirk through it. Calmly due to how much time and effort it takes. And rhey jyst come up with new things. I just want to let bs go. 😢 And not give myself permission
