Kayla Say Yes To The Dress Tuscany?

Kayla, a bride-to-be from Houston, Texas, revealed on TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress that she and her fiancé, Anthony, will be tying the knot in Italy. Kayla and Anthony have a small ceremony in Italy, but not even her mother is invited. In the original show, brides visit a store to find their dream wedding gown, hoping it will be within budget. In the 20th episode, Kayla visits Kleinfeld with her mother and uncle looking for a new wedding dress after being disappointed with her first dress. She brings an on-site dress, and promises to find a new one. In the 10 years since Say Yes to the Dress first aired on TLC, hundreds of brides have stopped into Kleinfeld’s wedding dress shop on their way to the aisle. Some have had happy endings, while others have had unhappy endings. In the season premiere, Caila Quinn sets out to find her perfect wedding day look at Kleinfeld in New York City. Kayla and Anthony’s Tuscany wedding was a destination wedding, and Kayla was part of the show. The show will return to TLC for a new season on April 6, 2024.

  • All she has to do is say my mom, his mom, dad and his dad are coming and that is it. There is no snowball effect that would happen. To have a bridesmaid and best man there is crazy. To not invite your parents cause you think other people would be upset is beyond ridiculous. I think she will regret it in the long run too. And what about her fiance. Who decided this I wonder? If they were going to elope, that’s one thing, but to have people involved in your wedding planning that you don’t intend to include in your wedding is so rude.

  • This makes me sad for Mom. When the Bride to be rolled her eyes as her Mom expressed her sadness, it was very rude. I UNINTENTIONALLY excluded my Mom from my dress shopping process & feel awful about it. Only because my dress was ordered online & in the moment, I only thought about ME & MY needs & didn’t even consider getting my Mom’s input. A moment I can’t take back but she is now included in the remaining part of the planning

  • Some people would die for having the blessing of their parents at their wedding. Just saying as a man who lost his father and planning to get married. She definitely doesn’t know how blessed she is that her parents are still here while she’s getting married. Your mother is so hurt by this decision! Thats such a cruel thing to do OMG

  • I ended up on the verge of tearing up for the mom; she looked so hurt! I feel like it almost makes it worse for her to be at the dress shopping and then not get to see her wear it on the day. Kind of like taunting mom, like “this is what my dress looks like but you don’t get to see it with the veil, train (maybe), hair done, makeup done, jewelry, etc.” And a “big party in Houston” is NOT the same as being there for the actual ceremony. I also can’t even imagine spending thousands of dollars on this dress, plus whatever she’s already out for the reject dress, for only like 4 people (none of whom are my family!) to see it at the actual wedding!

  • A small group would be their parents, stepparents, and their bridal party. Grandparents, friends, etc., could attend second ceremony. The fact that she doesn’t consider her own mother as part of the intimate party says what kind of person she is. Just wondering who’s paying for the dress, trip, and ceremony?

  • Instead of spending a few grand on another dress she should have paid for her mums ticket to Italy. Im absolutely gobsmacked she wont let anyone go😂 Its so mean I feel sad for her mum lol family destination weddings are the best and there’s only like what.. 10/12 people if we do both sets of parents, grandparents and step parents! Shes ridiculous.

  • My sister’s husband didnt have his father at their wedding because his dad died of covid and it was one of the saddest things ever. He was dearly missed that day. No matter how small is your wedding, you either elope with nobody invited, or you invite AT LEAST your parents (if they are good parents, which seems to be the case). That’s just heartless.

  • That’s so mean telling her mom she can’t go. I would just tell people that whoever can afford to go then so be it. Just explain that it’ll be super small with probably no reception that way some people might stay home & wait for reception back home. My opinion is to at least have only parents go & that’s it. I couldn’t imagine not having my parents not there for my wedding 😢😢

  • My daughter did this to us as a family..we were invited to our daughter’s wedding by her father in law to be, who we didn’t know. We werent allowed to have any of our friends, my daughter’s sisters weren’t her bridesmaids. So none of us went, which didn’t bother any of us. To treat your family that way, doesn’t deserve a thought. 6 years later they were divorced..i have nothing to do with her. However, my granddaughter is a blessing and she stays with us but has nothing to do with her mother. Australia

  • Watching all these old episodes and THIS one really is heartbroking. Changed her mind about the first dress she picked and had to get a different dress because she didn’t want to regret how she looked… for literally 3 other people and an officiant. I don’t know how she could not include her immediate family in what obviously is the most important day for her and her husband. Clearly there is a deeper story wrapped around the real reason to not want family be there… they are so supportive and appeared to be able to afford the trip. This was taped who knows how many years ago. Hopefully this bride and groom are living contently with their decision. Wish there were updates on these shows.

  • She want’s everything perfect and that’s a fact. I feel bad for her fiancé. He’s definitely a simp. He’s sweet, omg. Good luck buddy. She will ruin your life. She’s awful, doesn’t even care about her mother going to her wedding. This is pure narcissism. This will end up divorced and estranged from the whole family. Horrible. No, it’s not what ‘we’ truly wanted it’s what YOU want. 😊

  • I dont know man, the mom seems so sweet and nice and understanding and the bride is just acting weird… Like it clearly seems that you can invite your mom but you just dont want to and thats so sad, youre blessed to have such a nice parent and maybe there can be times she suggests something you dont agree with she still wants the best for you and she definitely doesnt seem like a control freak so you should prioritize your mom’s emotions as well yk. If I become a mother someday id be so heartbroken if the daughter I raised with so much love and care didnt invite me to her wedding over stupid “snowball” effect…so selfish

  • To present the other side here; we do not know how the mom – or the stepmom for that matter – are in real life. They have their ‘company manners’ on right now, on TV. As someone who grew up with a toxic mom, I can completely understand wanting to avoid the drama and just go get married without someone trying to run things or to ruin them. And it might not be her sets of parents, but his who are the problem. I would never judge a bride for wanting to fulfill her wish of a lovely wedding without family problems on the day of the ceremony or at the destination.

  • Well at least she knows about the wedding. My mom got married and I knew nothing about her wedding. She called me after the ceremony and said i’s married now. I’m her only child, and I felt kinda left out, plus I wasn’t allowed to wish them happiness on their special day. I was told that her significant other had already told everyone that needed to know. I don’t show it. No one knows how hurt I was)am about the situation

  • This is awful. 😱She is taking away her Mom and Dads dream of being at her wedding. Walking her down the aisle. Giving her away!! That is wrong!! Why do that to your parents?? Does she know how lucky she is?? The bride and grooms parents should be there!! No way I would have not let my parents be at my wedding!! Her Mom is clearly upset!! 😢. I hope she changed her mind and let all their parents go!!

  • One day you certainly will regret you not letting your mum go I’m sure you will have a daughter one day I really hope she makes you feel the way you made your mum feel in front of millions of people,,,, it would not have cost you anything she would have paid for herself, I always say karma will come back to bite you

  • This is so funny cuz I just found out through the Facebook of the guy she was getting married to that she divorced him without a reason within less than a year of their marriage. And then within the next 7 months of their divorce, he found out that she was pregnant and together with another guy. Like, what did we even expect from a girl who wanted no one to be at her wedding, that’s just really sad. He’s now happy with someone new, and that’s all I now feel less agitated about after perusal this article. (Thanks to my stalking ability)

  • This woman is very selfish, not just because she doesn’t seem to care that her mom is “hurt”, but the point she makes that she loves about her fiancé is that he usually gives in to whatever she wants. 😒 She also acts like being a perfectionist is a positive thing. All that does is lead to insecurities and anxiety in the people I counsel.

  • This is the same kind of wedding that my daughter and her fiancé are getting ready to do and it really breaks my heart. It’s a lot of parents dream to take their daughter wedding dress shopping in that won’t happen either so maybe this ride will change her mind, but either way, I wish her and her new groom, a very happy life and the best of luck.

  • I honestly respect the brides choice… considering I have two narcissistic, abusive parents, who pull fake bs for others in public and toxic behaviour behind closed doors. Literally it’s because of my toxic family that I honestly refuse to ever think of marriage for myself. You never know the full picture…

  • She keeps saying she is a perfectionist……laughable. If she was a perfectionist she would have found a way for the persons that gave her life to be there, as well as their spouses. This is a very spoiled, entitled person. This bridzilla is being so cruel to her parents and step parents. What needs to happen is for the best man and the maid of honor to stream the wedding without telling the bride. One last thing….my Mom always told me that whatever a child does growing up….when that person then has their own child, that child will be 10 times worse than they were. I pray I am still around when this person’s daughter tells her she can’t even stick around for the dress choosing. I hope TLC does not film anyone else like this.

  • I’m sorry but…. if she’s gonna have a reception why is it a big deal to the moms and dads. ? All she wnats is some time of her and her fiance to do there own wedding. And than they can come back and everyone can watch tbem do a reception. My moms friend she signed the papers with her husband and they had a reception after. I feel like this si not even about the dress anymore. This is like inviting yourself when your daughter said no.

  • As someone whose mother was at my wedding, and even went wedding dress shopping with me, who also screamed at me the day of my wedding and threatened to not walk me down the aisle… we don’t know the whole story behind their decision to basically elope. I know my bridal consultant had no idea how terribly stressed out I was dress shopping with my mother who had bullied and manipulated me my whole life but played the perfect mom when in public. Relationships are difficult.

  • It sounds more like she’s using being a perfectionist as an excuse to not invite people who would clearly be willing to cover any costs. She would obviously just rather live out an elopement fantasy, and if that’s the case, she needs to just be honest. It’s perfectly ok if she just wants the moment to be between her and the man she’s marrying because it’s their life together that’s beginning, but she needs to stop trying to protect her family’s feelings.

  • If you cannot invite close family, not even your mother to the wedding (especially after she is being this vocally sad about it) then better to shop alone. Ditch the shopping entourage. Cruel to have them shop with you at this point. Also, I can’t believe that some people in here are actually justifying the bride’s decision calling the mom (and people disagreeing withe the bride’s decision enitited). I mean, imagine having enough money to pay for a second dress but not enough to book a room for your mom who is willing to pay for her own tickets.

  • There is something very wrong with this bride to keep her mom from going to her wedding. She doesn’t seem very bright or emotionally aware of her actions. She is more concerned about her dress than having the people who love her present at her wedding. GOOD LUCK to the groom. He is going to need it with this one. Also, who plans a wedding far away from their loved ones and then comes back for a reception to collect presents.

  • As someone who doesn’t have a mother, and wishes I could have a loving, supportive mom of my own at my wedding, this just makes me mad. I know it’s her wedding, but I wish I had what she had with a full supportive family. I love my family, but the dream is to have your mom and dad there, and if I saw that my parent was so heart broken and literally BEGGING to go to my wedding, I’d do everything in my power to have them there. UGH

  • I will say- as sad as it is that her mom won’t be at the ceremony, I can understand why it’s a lot because even when the mom said “I wanna go” the stepmother immediately said “well if youre going, IM going.” I can totally see how it is a snowball affect and more and more people feel the need to go. Where I don’t agree necessarily of keeping your parents out of the ceremony, it’s what the couple wants :/

  • Am I the only one who understands the bride and feels like the mother is maybe in a daily life a little overbearing and suffocating. Like it’s been apparently a while since the couple made the decision and still because there is cameras she keeps on begging. I see so many couple spending their wedding making sure everyone is ok and or family drama why not spending this sacred moment with only your spouse and witnesses.

  • Everyone in the comment section acts like they know the bride & groom’s families while nobody notices that it was clearly planned a while ago and the mom is using the TV show to manipulate her way, thinking that she won’t say “no” in front of the camera. Not everyone has the same family dynamic as yours and it doesn’t mean that someone that’s different has to be rude. Not everyone dreams of making their wedding a family affair and that’s ok.

  • No means NO !! Regardless of the situation, and a mother who can’t respect that ……… They worded it nicely, but the bride initially bought a dress she was pressured into getting – the girl is a perfectionist and she seems fairly anxious about making big decisions – and the first thing that came from the birth mom wasn’t about the dress or the bride it was “let’s make this abt me !!!” The audience is clearly missing some pieces to the puzzle so its a little disappointing the crowd is villain-izing the bride who is clearly just trying to protect her peace. Its like yall need mothers to look like fairy tale antagonists to tell you a mother might be over controlling and manipulative

  • I LOVE how Randy had the brides back and said, “It’s your wedding, so you get to do it your way.” I completely understand where others are coming from, especially if you don’t get the chance to have your parents at your wedding due to death, illness, distance, or family issues. However, a wedding is NOT about the families. It’s about the couple and what they want and envision for themselves. Regardless of how the marriage turns out, that couple has the right to do things their way for THEIR wedding day, and everyone should respect that. It’s unrealistic to expect family not to take it personally, but again, it’s NOT ABOUT THEM! Everyone is speaking on how the family must feel, but nobody wants to speak on how it’s unfair to pressure the bride so much when she and her partner already made up their mind, which definitely wasn’t an easy decision to come to in the end. You can have a great relationship with parents, siblings, etc., but that doesn’t change the fact that you may want that special day to just be about you and your partner, and have the people that you CHOOSE to be a maid of honor and best man there since those two people are probably the ones that were there for you the most during the trials and tribulations of the relationship.

  • I’m someone who doesn’t know if I want to have my mom at my hypothetical future wedding, let alone want her in my life when I move out, because we don’t have a good relationship and I worry she’d ruin that special day for me. So I get that this bride may have some mixed feelings/a complicated relationship with her mom that she doesn’t want to air out on camera or she’s just a very intimate shy person who wants a small ceremony to have that be just about her and her partner. We don’t know the situation. I do believe that if this were someone getting eloped nobody would batt their eyes at the whole situation about them not having family there but this for some reason gets criticism from people. I don’t get it. Plus the mom constantly trying to guilt trip her daughter is giving me weird vibes, it seems like it might be a peek in to their possible inner life and potential relationship problems. I might be projecting on that last bit but it reminds me a bit too much of my mom. All in all I just think it’s sad that everyone is blaming the daughter and dragging her for this whole situation when we don’t know why she made this decision and it’s not any of our concern.

  • Why are people making this a big deal in the comments? She will have a full-blown reception with everyone and just wants an intimate ceremony. And like she said, there will be a snowball effect – she would have to invite 4 people just from her parental side + her siblings + his parents. She probably just wants to enjoy the ceremony with her husband and they will need their friends as witnesses…

  • One of the saddest episode for me.I don’t know how many times the mom said the word “sad” and tearful knowing that she will not be there on her daughter’s special day. And when the camera pans back to her and see how she rolls her eyes, cold and nonchalant attitude reveals a lot about her character. Spoiled, entitled and her way should only be the way. Moms are part of our core, I could not fathom how she’s ok leaving her out. I felt sorry for mom waiting for so many years to witness this once in a lifetime moment and she will miss it not by choice but because of her inconsiderate daughter. Anyhow, good luck to the husband I hope he knows what he’s signing up for. kudos to the consultant she advocated 2x and at one pount she said “but she’s your mother “. Oh well…

  • So much of the commentary on this article is incredibly frustrating —no one knows what a relationship looks like behind closed doors. Not everyone has an idyllic family life and not all parents deserve love, respect, and/or full access to their children’s lives. And for those saying ‘if the relationship was so bad/ abusive, why wouldn’t the daughter be no contact?’….sometimes no contact is too big of a leap so the strategy is to limit contact as much as possible, while asserting boundaries. The daughter was clearly trying to assert boundaries through the whole article and the mom just kept pushing and pushing, making it all about her.

  • I wouldn’t be too quick to judge their family situation from just a 13min clip. Coming from a family who weaponises kindness and crocodile tears to get what they want, covert narcissists can very well behave like the mother in this article. How she constantly tries to demonstrate her sadness in a bridal appointment, triangulating strangers, in the hope she gains the pity of more people, in a tone-deaf manner kind of hints towards that. As an asian, this would be considered “airing one’s dirty laundry in public” and is generally not appropriate nor recommended. That is a conversation for behind closed doors. I can understand the heartbreak and sadness for both sides that comes from excluding your closest of kin from your most intimate ceremony, but the fact that the bride does not elope and states that she will “make it up to the family” at the reception at least shows she has consideration in her heart for her family. Also how she has tried on multiple occasions to not bother the staff by trying to steer the conversation away from family issues (e.g. “this is a conversation for another day..”). I’d say it’s hard to conclude anything from just this article alone. This bride was not throwing any tantrums or much shade at her mum. She was just keeping focused on the appointment, which is the appropriate thing to do so as not to waste the professionals you paid for’s, time. She did do an eyeroll (which could be a reflex based on being fed up by years of guilt trips and manipulation) but otherwise was trying to handle the disagreement tactfully.

  • it’s HER wedding, if she wants to go to Italy with her friends and fiancé and have their ceremony on vacation and explore, then she has every right to do so. it’s very fair that she’s offering to renew vows at a second ceremony and reception with her whole family! both of these experiences sound fantastic!

  • everyone bashing this bride in the comments for being heartless is really callous. it’s not like her mother was the only one not invited—they’re having witnesses (MOH & BM) there because they have to be there, but eloping is truly not as scandalous as everyone here is making it out to be. It’s her & her fiancé’s wedding, that extends to them deciding who will be there! you can disagree with it, say that you’d Never disinvite your mother from your wedding, but at the end of the day it’s their decision and calling her cruel or heartless is really not a good look. i hope her wedding was lovely.

  • I am saddened by all of the negative comments. Mom should love her enough to let it go. This day is for her and her fiance. Two of my children eloped and the third had a small wedding in our backyard with just the immediate family ( including grandpa) and their lifelong friends. We celebrated the elopements later. Mom really took the moment away from her by constantly talking about not being there. She was there for choosing the dress and she’ll be at the celebration with everyone later. Side note, my husband almost never tells me no. And I almonever tell him know. We don’t take advantage of eachother. Celebrating 39 years this month.

  • Nothing will make up for leaving her parents behind. Including 4 more people is not adding any hardship. It will be a source of sadness to the parents for life, and this woman owes at least that to them. Grandparents are able to stay home…not parents. There is no snowball! I’m very disgusted with this unwise young woman. She cares more about the dress than her parents’ hearts.

  • This poor bride just wants to be alone with her groom because clearly she just wants a small thing and doesn’t want her parents for whatever reason and they won’t accept that she wants privacy and intimacy for such an important moment. I’m not inviting my mom to my wedding either. She’s awful to me and always has been and constantly tells me she doesn’t want me to marry my fiance (because he actually loves me, she liked the ex who beat me up because he beat me up) and she would 100% cause a whole huge scene and figure out how to ruin it and make me sad instead of happy so she’s just not invited. Maybe she’s scared her mom will make it about herself, it does seem like she is more concerned with herself not being there than her daughters happiness and wishes.

  • am i crazy for being on the bride’s side in this? now i don’t know if i missed something she said earlier but her and her to-be going to tuscany alone to get married sounds just like an elopement to me. and i feel like they have the right to elope if that’s specifically what they want to do… however she did say “i would love for them to come” but if it’s just about planning or money, if they’re willing to pay their own way, they should be allowed. again idk what the real story is behind this wedding but if she wants to elope, she should be able to do that

  • I missed my sons wedding because he got married in Germany and we only had a two month time frame to save the money. If we would have had more time we would have been there. We just couldn’t afford it on a military salary. Her mom needs to just respect her wishes since the daughter seems to feel it’s more important to have her Italian wedding instead of having her family there. It is just kind of selfish, but it is her wedding.

  • We’re planning to get married and wrap our honeymoon into it, we’ll be eloping so no guests at all. Nothing expensive or fancy, just a relaxing time together. But we also plan to have a gathering afterwards back home. Not every couple envisions having a crowd around them. It’s their wedding, not the family’s.

  • I don’t see a problem with her choice. The mental toll it takes on you too plan these events with family can be hard. I’m sure her family is very close as the example of her mom and step mom shows. This could be why she says no one can come except 2 witnesses. If she was truly selfish there would be a wedding in Tuscany and nothing else. Sometimes peace of mind is better especially at the start of something new. All that being said her choice is not mine but i do respect her right to make a less than popular one.

  • i would understand her not inviting her parents to the wedding if they are basically shit parents but her mom seems really sweet and would do anything just to witness her daughter’s wedding. she could have just invited her parents and her parents only. inviting them doesn’t mean she needs to invite 50 more people. i don’t get her logic at all. i can see regrets years from now.

  • Could be that the couple can’t afford to pay for the trip for parents (and siblings). And while the bride’s family would be willing to pay for the trip themselves, it might be, that the groom’s parents can’t. So they came up with the at home reception and gave the “snowball” reason, because such money differences can be a touchy subject. Would be hard for the groom to not have his parents there, while her’s are with them.

  • And when this bride turns around after “i do” and NO ONE IS THERE she will feel suchba sense of emptiness. She isnt eloping she is just…wanting some pretty photo’s. She could go without the Reception and have a small intimate wessing w loved ones in Tuscany. It will feel ALOT more special than a party.

  • Did people in this comment section forget that eloping exists 😂😅. Mariage is between two people. Someone’s marriage isn’t about their family. It’s about the bond they have with their person. It’s so personal that I can get why they would want to be alone to go through this. I don’t think the bride deserves the hate she is getting. She is doing a reception for her whole family to be able to share this experience as well. I know this can be hurtful for mom and dad but again it doesn’t diminish the love she has for her family. She just wants this ONE thing to be for her and her husband. It’s THEIR wedding. ❤

  • You are in control of YOUR wedding. You have the day. You can say yes to having your mom (stepdad) and stepmom (with dad) at your wedding. I have a feeling there might be more going on here. Maybe the bride doesn’t want her mother to be there for some reason that the public is unaware of. And that is perfectly fine if that is the case. But if you want your mother there, along with your dad and the two extras, and your husband‘s parents, you are in control of only having those people join you. I just cannot imagine a bride getting married, without her mother being there as long as they are on good terms. That may be a regret for you in the future young lady. I would say, just give it some more thought. Blessings to you and your husband to be on your so very special day. Tuscany will be so very memorable. ❤

  • “mom has had the hardest time cuz she’s, ya know…. hurt🤷‍♀🤷‍♀🤷‍♀🙄🙄🙄” I’ve never been so disgusted with a bride. Who tf values ‘maid of honor and bestman’ over their own mother? Especially one who loves you as much as this one? Your mom carried you for 9 months, sacrificed endless things to raise you, and you can’t value her over your friends just because you can’t separate inviting her from inviting your whole family? Newsflash: just invite the woman who gave birth to you. Disgusting. At least try to pretend you feel bad for how you treat her.

  • Yall Literally do not know this bride or her family. You’re perusal 12 minutes of edited footage. Nobody on this planet is entitled to anything. Nothing. Nada. She isnt selfish. She isnt rude. She isnt bratty. She set a boundary and she deserves to have the boundary respected. The mom is whiny for being butthurt about it.

  • I also don’t understand why the wedding ceremony has to be in Italy if it means nobody else can witness it. Wouldn’t it be so much simpler to have the whole wedding with the family in Texas, and then have a big honeymoon in Italy? The whole reason you have a wedding and don’t elope in a courthouse is to share it. So if you don’t have a big ceremony with lots of love and laughter, where you share the beauty of Italy, why even go there for the wedding itself? You could also take the wedding dress to the honeymoon to take pictures there.

  • This is an old episode…the bride divorced the groom 1 year after their wedding and had a child 7 months later with another man…I didn’t want to be intrusive but if you look up their names + syttd, there is a FB link with photos of their wedding. The former groom also posted on FB publicly about the divorce coming out of left field…

  • I am unable to understand the snowball effect. It’s just one more person. ONE MORE! DON’T CALL ANYBODY ELSE! She is hurting her mother so that others don’t come. It’s her mother! SHE DESERVES TO COME! THAT’S ENOUGH REASON! At the end its other people not coming and that can be completely justified by her.

  • I love the bride with the pink/blue/green sweater near the beginning. She just outrightly said she’s a selfish person and she owns up to it. But then the reason she knew her husband was the one was because she became a better person around him. I really liked when she said that. Love her personality and energy!

  • I obviously don’t know the family dynamics with the bride who isn’t having her family go to the Italian wedding, but if she’s fine with them going dress shopping with her and giving opinions, then what makes the wedding any different. She’s going to regret not having her family there and hopefully if she ever has a child, she won’t get excluded from their wedding.

  • the last bride has the most kind and supportive friends. They were very respectful of her autonomy and preferences but also encouraged her to step out of her comfort zone and didn’t try to pull the “i told you so!” when she loved the dress they chose for her. These are the kinds of friends every woman would be grateful to have, especially for huge milestone events like a wedding/dress shopping.

  • When someone is in love with a totally dramatic and unusual dress, why on earth would you then put them into the plainest dress you could possibly find and expect them to be happy with it? A bow that just looked as if it was stuck on the back as an afterthought hardly made up for it! Then the three she brought out after that were all similar with not much to choose between them. Why didn’t the stylist bring out something that would make her say ‘wow’ because anyone who wants a black and white striped wedding dress wants wow. As soon as they found her something with an unusual twist she loved it and it was beautiful.

  • Bravo! I agree with that first bride 100%. Yes! Pick an inspiration piece to give you an idea of what you like and then replicate it for a lot less. 🎉 to her for not budging from her budget one penny. It is not impossible to find a deal. She is tiny and can fit a stock discounted piece…and at under $1000….it looked much, much, much better than the original. And, she is right $2000 is a lot of money and enough to get a dress you love.

  • Absolutely hate that the mother put her daughter on the spot regarding the Italian wedding. I’m sure they discussed this in length before going to Kleinfield. If her daughter wants to elope, she has the right to do so & be respected. Maybe it’s because I’m Canadian and in our culture, weddings are not as important as the US because we have common-law relationships.

  • So strange to have a destination wedding in Italy with no family. It sounds like they can afford to travel there themselves, so it’s probably not a cost issue. And then, how special will this Tuscan wedding that she has this ‘vision’ for with no family members? No parents at all? She said she’d have to invite the whole family if she invited her parents, but I don’t see that. A small wedding with just your parents and 1 attendant each is still a small wedding, right?

  • I got my dress second hand! It was a 7k (nzd) dress and I got it for 2500nzd ❤ more than I anticipated spending, I’d been looking at $1500 but I was lucky enough that my mum surprised me with gifting it. I never expected that. I feel so lucky but also recommend secondhand if you want a cheaper designer gown

  • I can already understand why the bride around 40:00 didnt invite her mom. The first dress she comes out in, her mom guilt trips her and makes it about herself instead of focusing on the daughter and what she wants. And of course in public people are on their best behavior. This is probably a pervasive and much deeper dynamic…. So the bride wants to enjoy the moment with her groom without dealing with other people’s egos and issues. I would do the same…

  • 43:00 “Can I please come to Italy?” mother asks of daughter. How on EARTH can you tell your mother and father that they are NOT invited to the wedding ceremony? Dad walking her down the aisle at the reception in Houston is NOT walking down “the” aisle. The magic will already have happened. The heart-ache Mom feels … so sad and unnecessary. At least the bride’s parents and groom’s parents should be in Italy, too.

  • I find that I really love the classic design, and especially the last couple ones with the bows and the unique, artistic flare. These women have exquisite taste, and all the binging, and all the foo foo all the ruffles does not make a beautiful bride. You either have class and Excellent caged without showing off your figure or you don’t. That father, who had all that money got it he understood that even though his daughter tried on 1000 dresses. I truly felt sorry for that sitting here, all day and end of the night while she played dress-up. She almost missed out, if Randy had not had made her choose another appointment for the next day, or the risk of giving up that dress

  • Ladies!! If you want to wear a really expensive dress on your big day, START SAVING. Youre not in a relationship? Thats fine, youre not engaged yet? Who cares.. open a separate savings account and do not touch it. So when that day does come, youll have the money for it and you wont have to rely on someone else who wants you to wear something you don’t like. ❤ And if you don’t get married, youll have that wedding dress money to fund your dream vacation lol

  • I think the bride getting married in Italy is selfish and cruel to her mother not to have her at the wedding. Mother begged and bride still said no. If I were the mother, I wouldn’t attend the reception back home. I stopped the article at one point and the bride’s frozen face actually showed how hard she was. You can take the maid of honor and the best man, but you’re mother isn’t invited. I wouldn’t give that girl one red cent toward her dress or the wedding in general. Brat!!

  • Why go to Italy for a wedding and worry about a dress when you already have one? Wouldn’t a normal person honeymoon there?? She was more than excited to meet Lisa and Randy but doesn’t want anyone at her wedding? She acts like she cares about her mom’s opinion but doesn’t want her at her wedding. I guarantee they are taking money for their second wedding at home. I would hope to be alive when she has a child to see how she would handle it. What a selfish person. Your parents and his parents are “spiraling”?

  • Years ago i found a wedding gown dress for $200.00 at a local bridal shop. I ended up not getting married. Kleinfelds is a nice store, but can be overpriced for a lot of people. In 1989, kleinfelds in Brooklyn NY salespeople were rude to my mom and sister while looking for a prom dress. When i went to kleinfeld in 1995 with the bride and other bridsmaids, we were treated ok. She chose a black evening gown with white top that i was able to wear a few more times.

  • The dress she picked and ended up being the dress that looks so good on her I had that problem there was a dress that my aunt took off the rack and when I seen it I told her absolutely not did not like the dress I tried on so many dresses. And I was like done for now I need to go eat lunch and chill out and go to another store but she’s thinking to me just put this dress on just one more and she handed me that darn dress that I did not like and let me tell you when I put it on I cried I looked so good and I came out in my aunt seen it and she just burst out in tears and with my mother who had died the year before could see it now that her daughter looks like an angel. And I swear it was discontinued dress and it was the only one and it fit me off the hanger I got to walk out with the dress that day no alterations.

  • 1st bride: When I went to buy a Honda, I didn’t first ask to drive a Porsche to compare the two. Why would I torture myself and test driving a car I could never afford in a million years? The bride is beyond messed up in the head by insisting on trying her $9k dream gown FOR THE SECOND TIME, then saying she needs to beat that one in her $2k budget. She got lucky in that sale rack, if it even really happened. I think much of this is staged for TV.

  • If I were there and Randy started talking about how you have to sacrifice because of your budget and how expensive lace is, I might have to point out that New York is obscenely expensive. These brides could shop somewhere else and get more for their money. On say yes to the dress UK and Australia That’s very obvious.

  • 52:05 this episode makes my skin crawl. You could tell the OG wife was not comfortable. She could tell that her husband was gonna cheat and so she “pushed” for him to find a mistress because if its her idea she can controll it more and if its her idea then its ok. It wont hurt as much. I feel so bad for her.

  • 31:03 “Do you love this dress? Bride:- No I don’t” Are you kidding me right now??. First of all that woman really needs to change her attitude, you don’t go around someone else’s dress throw a tantrum that you like it so i wanna try it, that’s not how it’s works darling and after so much drama she didn’t even liked that dress??. Girl you are embarassing 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • they shaded the thruple with the editing so much, but they were actualy all so incredibly sweet and the two wives seam to have an amazing bond together. I get it, it’s untraditional and you’re not used to it, but the professional thing would have been for the sales rep to just not say anything if she was gonna be all judgy like this in her confessionals.

  • That striped dress is gorgeous! Would be over my budget too I love how different that sampledress is, love it, looks grate on her! That mother has an amasing body, waaw, she looks like a model! Randy is such a sweety. I love the sassy bride. I m the same The dress she choose is very elegant and classy Beautyfull brides. I love the mermaid style I dont get what they meean with Europeanstyle I think 2000-3000 is a good budget Maame loos stunning in her trunksaledress!

  • Why go to a shop you can’t afford I will never understand. Stay humble., and the 2 day time crunch is so stressful for the staff, I’m glad I’m no longer a baker it’s massive work and people don’t understand what work we put into things, I couldn’t work there, I would be to honest and sassy with the truth about prices and times. I feel for the staff to be honest.

  • The bride that doesnt take her mum to italy could actually want her family to be there but if there is animosity and lack of tolerance between the two families in law they could create potential conflict, drama, create scenes and cause damage if they met at the ceremony, which would totally ruin the weds day. Some ppl seem and are sweet but their in laws can bring out the worst in them

  • I think the idea of wanting to have the smalles possible wedding is fine, even though your parents wish to be there – after all, it’s your wedding. I just think she herself might regret it afterwards, because she only chose to do so because she was afraid to make the cut after a certain amount of people. First of all, you don’t actually need a maid of honor, it’s just generally done, but more over: Of course you can say parents only. Your grandparents saw your parents get married, pack both moms and dads and fly to Italy. My mom married without her parents present (only I was there) because her husbands parents were not going to come either way – and she actually regrets it now. So if that’s your wish, go for it. But if it’s for any other reason – don’t!

  • the body language of polygamous couples, when the future “bride” says that he is perfect from the first day, he moves away from her and touches his current wife, and the current wife artificially laughs while trying on dresses, I think the couple loves each other and to avoid infidelity, they have that third a woman is like a toy and if you look at their faces, they could be sisters

  • The polygamous couple I simply don’t understand. The husband’s attitude is just plain selfish. His wife ends up with physical problems being touched after the birth of her child. They don’t mention whether they tried psychiatric treatment or medication or anything. Just that the husband wanted physical satisfaction and she couldn’t provide it so his solution was what??? He gets to add another woman to his life and everything will work out just fine? Because of course it’s unthinkable that a man should go without sex; after all his d**k would fall off. Let me share a little story here. I was married for almost 38 years to my soulmate, the love of my life. Our intimate life was to die for. He was 6’4″, DDG and a Renaissance man/artist to boot. I was 16 years younger than him but I’d never had a lover so incredibly sensitive and skillful. OK, so far so good. He had an accident at work one day when we’d been together around 8 years. He made the rounds of many doctors, first in California and then in the Pacific Northwest where we moved. At first he refused to let this problem interfere with our intimate life. However he underwent 2 major spinal surgeries in 4 years. The surgeries ensured that he wasn’t in a wheelchair or bedridden but he had intense pain the rest of his life. Also as time passed he became increasingly unable to move in many ways that are a part of sexual intimacy. It was very frustrating for both of us because this was a huge part of our life. I would say that for the final 18 years of our marriage we did not have any sex.

  • The wedding in Italy made me sad if my daughter was getting married in Italy and she didn’t want me there wow. What a selfish daughter 😭 😢💔 She is going to regret it not having her family there and her husband family, when she has kids she will see what their poor parents felt. I skipped seeing her episode i was so mad.

  • Not to be mean. But… the polygimi bride was a bit interesting… I feel bad or Ellen cuz it felt like Peter didn’t really care about her and was kinda pushing her away. Peter just wanted intimacy from his wife, he didn’t love her and just wanted s*x. from my perspective I felt like he didn’t really care about her anymore and would’ve just left her if he hadn’t found another woman. It’s not Ellen’s fault that her condition happened and I felt like Peter was just being a bad husband and didn’t support her. He just went right out to finding another woman

  • I never feel bad for brides that go into Klienfelds with a 2k or under budget, then complaing when there is nothing as far as selection goes. Honey thats why you do your research, call ahead, go to stores that offer dresses in your budget. Only someone with no common sense goes into a High end store looking to buy something at bargin store prices.

  • If you keep trying on an 8 to 10,000 dress you’re never going to be able to get inspiration from that or get it out of your head you should have never put on a dress that’s not in your budget. It’s an all white dress I would never pay that kind of money for it like to eat their own then that in no way says wedding dresses to me and enlightened beautiful but it does not look good on you that is not your dress
