On October 15, 2023, Wolfgang Van Halen and Andraia Allsop exchanged vows at their Los Angeles home, with 90 friends and family members present. The intimate ceremony took place on the eighth anniversary of their first date. The couple, who have been together for eight years, got married in their home so they could “have privacy and just have ours.”

📹 Wolfgang Van Halen Opens Up About the Final Days He Spent With Dad Eddie (Exclusive)
ET’s Kevin Frazier spoke to Wolfgang Van Halen just six weeks after the death of his music icon father, Eddie Van Halen.
My husband of 16yrs is a pretty well known rock star too. I’m also a musician, and so is his ex wife. When he had lung cancer, me and his ex wife both took care of him together. He beat his cancer 5 yrs ago, and he, his ex wife, and I are all friends and play shows together. CANCER SUCKS! But, for me, it brought us closer, and turned all of our lives into such a fun & loving experience!
Janie has my UTMOST respect. She put all the BS aside that normally goes with a spouse that has an ex, the fact that they ALL could be there when he passed. Most women couldn’t handle being such a selfless, loving, understanding and compassionate human. Janie you are an aspiring example of what love really should be.
Life is Short, We all grow. But the One thing we have is our past, Some Great. Some not so Great. We learn and move on learning that the past is still part of our lives. I hold a Great respect for both Valerie and Janie. They both understand this. Wolfie!!! Looking forward to and enjoy the music that you have created. Life is Short. Stay Creative and Enjoy all that we were able to Enjoy. With Love to you all. And Thanks Again for the Great Ride. Donnie
I have trouble perusal these Eddie Tributes. Since his recent death, they make me sad. I played electric bass in high school stage band for one year and junior college band for two years. I always had to read notes. Band leaders did NOT want me to wandering off sheet music. $79 Sears bass with $450 Fender Bassman 100 amp. I never turned volume past number one. Always had to make two trips. One to haul bottom speaker cabinet on a two-wheeler. Second trip to carry bass guitar case and amp head, kind with upside down tubes. Small practice bass amp was back at my parents house. Eddie mentions one of his TRS-80 computers losing all of the data of what was on his large, I believe 2″ tapes, which had to be heated up to play them back. I moved on from TRS-80s to IBM pcs. I bet Eddie did too, after the hard disk crash of his TRS-80.
The title was misleading to the content. While I’m pleased Eddie and Valerie maintained their friendship after their divorce? Eddie was married to an entirely different woman and the media has centered on the relationship between Valerie and him. Upon his death? Tons of articles on YouTube refmgarding that aspect but they all talked about him and Valerie. I just find it sad for Jamie that 90% of the focus has been on that relationship versus Eddie as an individual or the two of them.
Janie seemed to accept their relationship because she was off doing things with other “friends” for years. It is really odd that any wife would allow an ex-wife to be around for his death. It just seemed that Eddie only truly loved Valerie and Janie was more open to Eddie’s lifestyle which Valerie was not. Valerie, rightly so, no longer could take the drinking and drugs, and left – but she still loved him – never losing touch. The odd statement in 2006 as EVH’s PR rep, seemed odd. She had odd tweets since January that could have been interpreted as health issues of Eddie, but they related to her own father. I doubt 95% of fans ever heard of her…..until now.
Do none of you not know they were divorcing-but didn’t get there due to the timing of his death? I think people knew about it even before he had gone down hill. I don’t know if she was such the angel you are painting her (it’s possible) or just that it was at the point where it didn’t bother her-I honestly don’t know if they were living together-from what I read Wolfie was the one taking his Dad to his appointments and spending time with him. But again-we are not part of their lives and can only speculate on the information that is out there.
Janie smoked! Shame that Ed couldn’t have found a nice woman who didn’t smoke, drink or take drugs so that she could have helped him give up the cancer sticks … it’s well known that addicts can’t get clean and sober when associating with those who aren’t. Bad influence, temptation and all that … I extrapolate that to smoking. OTOH, those who smoke usually can’t stand to live with those who do, let alone kiss!
Ahhh. Hold on folks, let’s tell the real facts of this. Eddie and Jane were separated and living apart for over 11 months before his passing. She had a male dance partner that she was having an affair with which caused the separation. Ed was going to divorce her but his failing health interfered. This is why at Ed’s passing only Valerie and Wolfie were present. Facts matter.
Was edward ever not high one day in his adult life as of 18? I wonder… Sorry if I insulted your sensibilities…Yeah he played a guitar. Cool. God Bless all the people he came across. No I’m for sure not jealous. I was a fan & I saw the 4 originals play 3 times in the 80’s and they were great…just wondering now many years later.
I’m 55. Grew up listening to Van Halen in the early 80’s EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!! on my Walkman cruisen my beach cruiser to school as a kid, listening to all their albums so much it literally wore out the cassette’s and burned out my old walkmans where I’d have to BEG my parents to buy me a new one and mow lawns to buy new albums. Van Halen was HUGE in my childhood and I’m 55 now sitting here with my eyes FULL of tears listening to his son talk about Eddie’s passing. Still can’t believe he’s gone.. RIP EDDIE!! You are 100% the greatest EVER!!! GOAT!!! Love ya Brutha!!! 😭😭😭😖😖😖🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍👍
Had tears in my eyes perusal this 😭. It is so encouraging to see a legendary figure, just loving his family and doing fun ” normal” activities with them. Everyone should watch this article, even if they are not hard rock music fans. Learn a lesson from this; no matter how famous, or wealthy you are, what is really important, is your family and loved ones. Spend as much time with them as you can and tell them that you love them as often as possible. Time goes by fast and you never know what tomorrow will bring.
The first time I saw Wolfie on stage with his dad was Father’s Day, June 20, 2004, in Worcester, MA. I asked my dad if he would go to the show with me and he turned me down, he hated Dave and thought Ed was like him. I really wish he could see the article, and see how good of a job Valerie and Ed did with Wolfie. My dad was my best friend, and Wolfie’s dad was my best “imaginary friend”…I hope they’ve met.
Wolfgang played Panama with Foo Fighters at the Taylor Hawkins tribute as good as father Eddie, check it out. youtu.be/XRJt92KR9DA I sat there stunned, the finger work was amazing. Even Dave Grohl was shocked at times. I first saw Van Halen in the early 80s and waited hours in the pit for a show in Philadelphia. I saw them in early 2000 in Anaheim when David Lee Roth came back. I’ve seen a few shows. I closed my eyes and it was just like I was back then
