In Quran the duty to care for parents is on the children (sons AND daughters) whether the children are married or single. It’s not just a sons duty. Also not all families have sons. That’s why Allah made it a duty for both daughters and sons. A husband can not restrict, order or stop his wife from visiting, caring for and serving her parents. It’s her divine duty. Would he accept it if his wife kept him from visiting his parents? Of course not. In Islam the d wife/daughter-in-law is not and can never be made responsible for serving her inlaws, which is her husband’s duty as a child/son.
