I have watched Heartland season 1 through 13 at least 15 times. I find it to be an hour mixed with a little escape/fantasy and lot of reality. Amy losing Ty, her husband unexpectedly (that’s a reality). I and so many others can relate. You may / may never move on to another love either is okay. As long as you are moving forward. Amy seems to be moving forward with her raising her daughter, working her craft, integrating with family. She gets up in the morning (that’s an accomplishment). Give her a break. Again, Heartland gave us the Ty and Amy romance (kind of a fantasy) Heartland also gave us Ty and Amy the loss (Reality). At the end of the day its really not about what others want to see for you (even though they mean well. Its what you would like to see for yourself.
They made to worst decision ever to kill off Ty and then when it began to appear as thought there was light at the end of the “sad Amy” period, fate intervened. They should shift gears and do a reboot with Amy and Ty, by whatever means necessary. Otherwise, we are just marking time by continuing with less interesting story line with each episode. Really, we still are constantly seeing Ty, clearly that is what is needed.

I do not see Edwin as a viable love interest. I could’ve seen Finn as candidate as they could’ve teamed up as Amy and Ty did for the horses. If you follow along that line why wouldn’t Scott Cardinal be an interest, far fetched???? I think you should think along those lines IF you’re going to get the fans excited. Her character has to have someone who has the same passions as her and Ty. Whatever you don’t bring back Chase. From what I have seen of the new series it sucks! Amy’s character has no personality and too serious. She acts drab at best. It is now just revolving characters turning into a soap opera. When Ty left the entire heart of the show left. The show was Ty and Amy. My wife and I still watch the 1st 14 seasons almost daily and love it still. This guy with the Jimmy Darani nose would end the show. They don’t even look right together… way off. I think Amber Marshall is a great actor and needs to grow in new movies etc. Ty moved on and so should Amber.

I believe Amy & Edwin will remain friends only. I also believe Amy & Caleb will come together because they both miss Ty. An Caleb does care about Amy. When they were younger Amy went with Caleb for a short time. Until her & Ty got together 💕 Now I believe that their children will bring them closer together, an if so Caleb can be there for Jack at the same time. Heartland is a great family show for all ages. So I haven’t has the option to watch season 16 yet, So I don’t know, but personally, as someone who has lost a spouse and then decided to remarry and have more kids. I knew I didn’t want a copy of my first partner, (and he will always have a piece of my heart) we change as we get older and so do our love interest. Why didnt you mention Finn the Ferryman? They have serious chemistry in season 17. Episode 8 will be released next week.
