In 2014, Gina Neely, the former star of Food Networks Down Home with the Neelys, announced her shocking divorce from her co-star Pat Neely. The couple had been married for 20 years and had a successful cooking show together. Neely, who co-hosted the show, admitted to trying to leave five times before finally standing her ground and ending their marriage in 2014. The Neelys’ daughter, Spenser, passed away in 2017, and the couple’s divorce played a significant role in the decision.
Neely is a mother of two daughters, her oldest, Spenser, from a previous relationship, and Shelbi, who she and Pat welcomed during their marriage. The Neelys appeared to be the epitome of a perfect couple on screen, but their personal relationship experienced significant strain. In 2014, after 20 years of marriage, Pat and Gina Neely announced their divorce, which not only affected their personal lives but also marked the demise of their beloved cooking show.
The Neely divorce was finalized quickly, taking only six hours in total. Despite the challenges, Gina admitted that the ending of her marriage to her high school sweetheart was necessary for her to finally be happy. It has been four years since Gina Neely’s divorce from Pat Neely, and she hasn’t spoken to her now-ex husband since the day she left the door.

Or something to that effect. I just remember her making it sound like they were about to split up before they started doing the show.
