Love you’re articles! You are going to have a ton of subscribers one day! You are honest and informative. Keep making your articles! I genuinely enjoy your articles. You have great content! Would love to see your holy grail makeup routine, skincare routine, perfumes you love or what you eat in a day, etc. Would love to see those! 🙂
I’m gonna add one more for combination oily skin, and it’s the one I wore on my wedding day, which was a horribly hot day. Also, I’d like to add that I’m not that girl that doesn’t sweat. I HIGHLY recommend the YSL All Hours foundation. It really does last all hours, and is fool proof. It somehow magically looks good all the time, and it photographs beautifully.
I know I’m not having a wedding anytime soon, but you know I will click onto bridal makeup anything from you because I have been perusal you for so long and have been waiting after SOOO many times you’ve talked about making a article on this! Thinking back to all the times when you put on a eyeshadow that was a perfect bridal shade 😍
Your truly the foundation queen 👑 I really look forward to learning about them every week! I’m currently trying to master my base makeup to look more natural and I’ve just been using makeup forever matte velvet powder y245❤ I want to just wear the bare minimum on my big day Christmas Day but still stand out☺
👑All hail the foundation queen 👸🏻Taylor! This is a great article, so thorough and well balanced. I love how you take the time to try to help everyone and give recs for all skin types. Your knowledge of foundation is encyclopedic. I’ve been engaged to be married about the same amount of years you’ve been talking about making a bridal makeup article. 😂 Maybe when you put out the rest of the wedding makeup articles I’ll actually have to hurry up and get married! 😮 Love you so much girl. 💜🌯
Estee Lauder double wear for an outdoor summer wedding. I have oily skin, at the end of the night I had minimal oil and my face hadn’t moved. In the late night photos my guests looked greasy and I didn’t. I had tested it for a few weeks before the wedding to be sure it would work for me and it did. I moisturized like crazy for days before hand so I didnt have any dry patches that would stick to the foundation. Applied with a sponge for less of a cakey look. No flashback. It was perfect for me.
The Pacifica foundation is absolutely amazing. It makes my skin look amazing. I also love that it is a Portland based company. Being from the PNW, it is basically buying locally. Can’t beat that. I have normal to dry skin with rosacea and it covers it beautifully. Also my skin is super sensitive, and I haven’t had a single adverse reaction. My skin actually looks better after I wear it. Which seems crazy, but it is true. The one downfall is that it does rub off pretty easily. Especially if you are sweaty on a warm day. So I just ordered the Catrice waterproof drops to add to it. Thanks to your last article. I had no idea such a thing existed. Hoping it solves the problem. Either way I am not switching foundations. I have recommended it to everyone I know. It is spectacular. I love the color and coverage of the CYO, but it breaks me out every time I use it. Same with my daughter. So a warning for anyone with sensitive skin. It may cause some skin issues. I tried it over several weeks and had the same result each time.
Hey Taylor! I’m getting married this Friday and came straight to you through your articles for advice. You are the the most dedicated and hardworking YouTuber I have yet to find, thank you so much for always being dependable, you have no idea what your consistency has meant to me over the years! ❤️ Anyhow, I love the eye look you have in this article, do you have a article recreating it or something similar? Thanks for everything!
Im getting married in a week and am super oily. I’ve been stocking up on waterproof makeup because I’m going to be a bawling mess and testing out foundations for about 3 months now. I like light to medium coverage, so I’m mixing the It cosmetics matte CC cream with the Ben Nye HD matte foundation. Using the Hourglass mineral veil primer under, the kryolan dermacolor waterproof setting powder and huda boss face setting spray on top. I also got waterproof eyelash glue by Eyelure to put on my lashes, Boudoir Lite by HOL. And will top of with waterproof L’oreal lash paradise. Not taking any chances! Thank you for the well wishes, Taylor. We’re very excited! Very excited to go to Hawaii for a few days after too! 💕💕💕💕
I rarely ever comment on YouTube articles. Just wanted to say you are my favorite website to watch when it comes to makeup reviews. I can tell that you put in a lot of research and thoughts into your articles. I appreciate your thoroughness and all the hard work you put in. PS i am excited to hear your thoughts on the new UD naked foundation.
Been married for 17yrs and boy do I wish YouTube was around back then! Got married on the beach! And I have no clue what foundation I wore that day! lol But this review would’ve been so helpful! Anyway I have dry skin and I’m super glad you gave some good options! Thank you for your amazing work ethic! Love all your articles!! Your my fav!! 💕💜💕
Hey! Did you ever tried mac face and body? Its so… interessting. Just discovered it for me and would love the know what do you think of it. Very naturel. But I would love to know how you can make it work with a little more coverage. The catrice one is one that can work with differnt skin typs, I think. But the dewy settingspry is key! 😊 Thank you for the article! 🖤
BUT HAVE YOU TRIED THE LUSCIOUS COSMETICS CAMERA STICK FOUNDATION THOUGH???? I used it for my wedding foundation because it was testing it out and it looked sooooo good in photos. Not too glowy. Almost like a creamy glow. My face looked absolutely angelic. Everything blended out great on top of it. I was also SOOOO hoping you would do your bridal makeup look before my wedding (i just got married on May the Fourth) but I kept your “bridal lid shades” in mind when I was practicing and I nailed it. Honestly I did my own wedding makeup and it looked really great.
I got married a little over a year ago. I have oily skin and at the time I had some breakouts from stress so my makeup artist used lancome teint idole with a little bit of dior air flash on top and then we set it with Laura mercier powder. My makeup stayed all day and I didn’t touch up at all. For lips I used one of those nudestix lip crayon with too faced matte liquid lipstick on top. It stayed on all day and my lips didn’t feel dry. Hope this helps a future bride out there.
I used to use super matte, super full coverage foundations and then I noticed they were making my skin look cakey and dry so I figured it was time for a change.. I did my research and tried the Loreal infallible 24hr Freshwear foundation and WHAT A GAME CHANGER!!! 😁😁😁 My skin looks like skin, it has a more dewy/satiny finish and it sets down nicely and lasts all freaking day! So much more affordable than what I was doing before!! Hope this helps!😁
Please, can you recommend a primer for very dry skin which smooths dry patches? Or combination of primer and foundation, because I clense, moisturise and use serum every day and still it’s really hard for me to look good with foundation (dewi) when it grabs to every dry spot I have… Btw I love your articles and you are awesome 😍😍
where was this article last week when i got married!?! haha —I love this article! I have normal to dry skin with redness and some texture and just got married in Hawaii (so it was hot). for the actual wedding I ended up wearing the new Pur 4 n 1 and it looked beautiful and didn’t break down. my other option I had was the MUFE stick foundation which also looked great while outside in that climate. Both set with Maybelline loose powder. Hope this helps someone <3
I have a perfect foundation mixture for dry skin. Maybelline matte & poreless Maybelline smooth & dewy If you do not want to mix the 2 you can use matte & poreless on your oily areas and the dewy & smooth everywhere else. Looks so pretty mixed. Yesss CYO is discontinued I seen it twitter or Instagram. Don’t remeber exactly. I want to try the foundation.. Going to buy 4. 2 for summer and 2 for winter 😁
Nothing beats CYO ! Nothing! Thanks to you Taylor I’ve been using the matte and the satin finish since you demonstrated them. Didn’t care for the dermablend or peach perfect. YOU JUST CANT BEAT CYO people! Did you know that CYO Life proof and Soap&Glory kick ass all day wear foundation have the EXACT same ingredients??!! The exact same! They are also both made in France and by Boots in England. I found that extremely interesting. Just good info to know if CYO does go out. Plus soap and glory is usually easy to find but it’s more expensive. Same ingredients yes but I still love CYO better.
I was going to leave a comment asking if you had heard if CYO was coming out with any additional shades. The 101 is actually too dark for me, but I love the formula so much I add a mixer to it. Now I read that they’re closing. I’m so sad. What’s your opinion on the Soap and Glory foundations and shades offered? Not sure if you’ve done a article comparison on CYO versus Soap and Glory. But since lots of us are in a similar situation with CYO being discontinued…that’d be a great article. You’re my favorite Taylor! ❤️
Lancôme Teint Idole is the only foundation I like on my combo leaning dry skin and is a light enough shade I just use a lot of it because my redness and such can still show through so I wish I could find one that gave me the same natural satin finish but was light enough and also had enough coverage without looking fake lol
I (who has very oily skin)tried the Pacifica Alight Clean Foundation because of the Casey Holmes article also. I’m not sure if it was the primer I was using (Rimmel Stay Matte – my go-to primer)or what, but that foundation looked HORRENDOUS in me. No joke. It looked patchy in certain areas, like it was beading up in others, and like I hadn’t put anything on in yet other areas. It was a HOT MESS!!! Yet when my daughter (who has normal-to dry skin) tried it on, it looked flawless, natural, and beautiful. For this oily girl, in the South Texas 104 heat, what works best is the L.A. Girl Pro Matte Foundation
Taylor, today I asked a lady in Boots in the UK if they were discontinuing CYO and she said she’d heard that was happening too so unfortunately I think it is not just leaving stores but being completing disbanded as a company 🙁 So sad because I recently started loving Lifeproof when I applied it with a sponge!
Proof that foundations work very differently on different skin. Milk blur matte doesn’t last AT ALL on me. It moves around like crazy, and if you accidentally brush or touch your face, it’s marked. I’ve seen several other YT reviewers say the same, but the foundation doesn’t even hold itself out as a long wearing one, so it’s not like I can be mad lol
We were taling in the comments about cyo lifeproof and soapd and glory kick ass foundation being the exact same product, like same ingredients made by the same comoany at the same place. I know this must happen a lot especially with the big parent company owning so many high end and drugstore brands. I would love to see a article where taylor researches and finds some ingredient dupes for these luxury brands and drugstore that literally have the same ingredients. And of course see Taylor battle them out side by side. Its crazy that the cyo is half the price of s&g when its legit the same thing in same package made by the same company in the same place. They need to be called out!
Hi Taylor, I enjoy your content and how thorough you are. My skin type is the opposite of yours but I value your thoughts on a product for other skin types. I do have a request. Thank you for the product info in the drop box, or I would be more fristrated with constantly replaying your article to get the name of the product. please, please, please, use the name of the product when speaking about the foundation or other product instead of “this one” vs “that one”, esp when doing comparisons of multiple products. It’s easier for me to follow. Thanks, and keep up the great work 🙂
