Cool. I had to come to the comments to understand, because I am also a tourist. Had no idea what happened. But I get it. She was standing for a picture.. whatever else was happening.. she stepped aside for and then this happened? And they got a little extra. London is so unique. I’d have no idea how to act over there. I often wonder how do they feel about tourists? Do they get annoyed at people? Because we don’t know how to conduct ourselves. Some of us are there just to enjoy and share in culture.. but don’t want to impede in other people’s property. And if it annoys them.. I surely don’t want to do it.. I am not one of those people that wants to see the world at others expenses. But I want others to enjoys and share in my culture.. ya know.
Is it just me? Every time I watch these guys marching the sound track for the soldiers guarding the wicked witch of West’s castle come to mind. Sorry, no disrespect but the Wizard of Oz was my son’s favorite movie and I had to listen to it several times every week for over 30 years. When I was there in 2005 and for me and my best friend, who actually lives there now in London, she grew up going there every single summer, but we were so insane… I was yelling at the changing of the guard ceremony. “Get me an application.” we were so fucked… no matter where we are now in the wicked awkward situation will just be like “hey, can you get me an application? ” …. Like these people probably have to serve in the military for so long before they’re even considered. I’m sure this is how it is. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t in here I am stupid American at the gates, which they’re so far away. They probably could barely even hear us. I don’t know where they are in this, but it’s just we were so stupid stupid Americans to the fullest.

So In that respect obe could say it’s hugely important. But is it also a outdated a ceremony that today seems to be little more than a tourest attraction ? Yes in my opinion . There are armed police all over that place. So is it fair that a attraction where they can treat the public badly like they did to that kady without scrutiny. No in my opinon. There are traditions that hold true and deserve respect. But if the public are going to be treated like shite for doing absolutely nothing wrong.
