When you feel lonely in your marriage, it’s crucial to take proactive steps to address these challenges and rebuild a sense of connection. Emotional intimacy is a crucial component of any healthy relationship, and when there is a lack of it, partners may feel distant or disconnected. One of the signs of loneliness in a relationship is when you do have sex but don’t make love.
Asking your spouse for emotional support or sharing in happy, sad, or painful moments can help you avoid feeling lonely. However, it’s important to recognize that being married doesn’t protect you from loneliness, and you don’t have to be physically alone to experience it.
When you’re struggling with loneliness, try reaching out to others, finding meaningful activities, or seeking professional help. Meditation, reading, or journaling can help you recharge and give you time to go inward. If you’re feeling lonely, disconnected, and isolated, look for ways to help yourself and your relationship. The goal is to have a healthy relationship both with yourself and your partner.

1. I always see people on social media doing cool stuff with their friends like going to concerts or visiting lost places or whatever… whenever I meet someone (most likely with my twin brother because on my own I never had the chance to meet others) we only sit in a room and play article games… 2. I am 19 and I never had a closer relationship to anyone… especially not to girls… and I think that wont change because I always have this unconcious feeling of not being good enough… I cant keep good conversations going for long because after a few words I just dont know what to say anymore… I am super shy around others and cant come up with fun things to say or to do… i can imagine that being around me is super boring. 3. well…not really… I started going to college a year ago but my loneliness started way back in high school. 4. Since I never had someone like this I cant really tell why but I still make others source of my happines… on my own Im sad most of the time and dont know what to do because everything bores me. 5. I dont really know what I want from life and I dont even know what I enjoy doing… my interests change every few days and I just cant do anything for a longer period of time… 6. Especially my parents dont really know me… I am kind of different when I am with them… I actually think of mysef as funny and I can make them laugh but I dont tell them about my problems because they end up belittling everything I say. 7. Well… like I already mentioned I dont feel good enough for closer relationships but I never experienced a break up.
I’m lonely because nobody wants to spend time with me because I am Terminally Ill. My friends have told me that they feel uncomfortable being with me and don’t know what to say. I have told them to talk to me about everyday things, the News, what they have been doing, etc and to laugh and joke with me.
I just can’t make friends or give love anymore. I don’t know why. I just can’t anymore, there are so many reasons why. I’m constantly questioning myself about “Do I need friends?” “Will I live and die lonely? Unloved?” “What am I doing?” “Why?” “How?” And so much more. I’m just overwhelmed, but I’ll never be able to make a new friend.
Basically, I fear making friends cause I always feel they will eventually turn on me. I get very excited and anxious around them, and now, I fear having friends sometimes. I’ve gone through 2 breakups with someone I still love, lost so many friends throughout only 2 years, and seemingly can’t ever catch a break. Man, life just sucks sometimes.
Actually, if you go deeper into it, the feeling of loneliness stems from a feeling of being incomplete, not whole. Wholeness will come in a human only when the human integrates all parts of himself/herself – shadow integration. This will remove all sense of loneliness, even when a human is all alone, all the time.
Here’s it applied to me: 1. Yes, this really affected me when I was younger, since I was a lot at home and never really learned to socialize 2. I have a great fear of rejection and abandonment 3. I’m in my 6th school and move all the time with the only thing not changing being my mother 4. So yeah, I started feel very codependent with my mother 5. I think this is a thing most teens go through but loneliness makes it even worse 6. Since I am an HSP people often didn’t understand my emotions and needs 7. My fathers ex made me feel unworthy 8. I used to hang out with a lot of people who bullied me everyday but they were the only people I had at that time so I couldn’t break the relationship 9. not really depression, but other mental health problems
Wow this hit hard. I’m the loneliest I’ve ever been in my 31 years. I was codependent on my sister for so long and now have had to cut her off due to her becoming abusive and toxic. I don’t even know who I am outside of her. I can’t relate to people. I crave human interactions yet I have social anxiety. I struggle to even have conversations with coworkers. I see them all get along so well, even hanging out outside of work and I am struggling to try to be someone they can be friends with. I haven’t had friends in over 13 years and I feel empty. I spent all of yesterday and today in bed sleeping because I feel uninterested in anything. Why did I have to be this way 😞
Here is the summary of the article 1. You don’t know how to connect with people 2. You are afraid of intimacy 3. You’re going through a lot of change 4. You struggle with codependency 5. You’ve lost touch with yourself 6. You’re feeling misunderstood 7. You’re struggling to feel worthy 8. You’re spending time with the wrong people 9. You may have depression
This is a great article delivering a lot of awareness on loneliness. We are lonely because we have abandon our hearts and forgotten our true self, the Love and Light that we are. There are so many tools to get us back to connecting to our true self and let love in. Meditation is one of the best ways to heal our brokenness.
ive been lonely since 13…and i’ll laughed so hard cuz i know the “friends” that i had they just don’t want me as a friend. but for all of you who more lonely than me, you guys have the strongest will and spirit. let yourself be true and be awesome what you do. cuz you are an awesome person. Stay safe and stay awesome
Thank you for reminding viewers that people with those symptoms might want to to seek professional care, because sometimes, it could be none of the above. I know of at least two people who complain of feeling lonely, but they will never recognize that they are the problem. Others may not want to be with them too long because they are constantly talking about what a poor, lonely victim they are. No body understands them or loves them even thought they are so loving, so on and so forth. A lay person such as myself, should never even imply they need help. But when they hear it from some one outside their circle, they might, just might take the suggestion seriously. Thanks.
I see myself as an emotionally intelligent person, I love those around me and appreciate them but the fact that I have my own beliefs and interests and simply a different mind since there are things that I see okay but the people around me never see them acceptable always makes me feel lonely. People misunderstand me even though they see me as a great kind person, and it’s like no matter how hard I try to be myself, my closest friends don’t see it, they misunderstand it and interpret it in a different way (not as in rude or things like this). I feel like I understand those around me but there’s no connection. That’s why I want to study uni in another country (after I finish high school next year and hopefully get into astrophysics or an engineering major) meet new people and maybe find a new friend who would understand me! I’ll try to make online friends from different places and religions to maybe understand people more and make great friends 😊
I didn’t feel lonely until my ex dumped me and my freinds moving away. On top of that, i’ve been suffering from depression and anxiety, my medication for my bipolar disorder had to be increased, i’ve barely passed school, i’ve spent hours in therapy and despite all of that i’m still not been taken serious by my parents who just thinks i’m overreacting. How’s your 2020? š
I am literally at a point of lonliness where I feel like I’m never enough for anyone and feel like a burden to everyone out there… I gets thoughts like I’m boring, or not interesting at all.. basically I feel inferior to others in terms of socialising because I have been enduring so much lonliness that I think I deserve this for being the person that I’m am.. basically I m sick of myself
I am crying because these reasons are so relatable. I’m tired of listening people saying that “If you think you are lonely, just walk out and make some new friends!” It isn’t easy for me… I think the main reason of mine is unable to find my soulmate… The person who makes me feel comfortable talking with, instead of complaining I’m too quiet and boring… The person who accompany me to do the things that I really love, rather than forcing me to adapt their interest… Actually I just want someone to listen, not just giving me a textbook solution…
I really felt this, I’m currently in a relationship and I can feel it drifting away. My partner doesn’t really have time for me anymore and I’ve always been a shy individual and I can feel my guard starting to pop up again. As I get older it’s definitely gotten a lot better but it’s really difficult.
I’ve (and my other siblings) pretty much been at home all my life. My mom has always prevented us from making any friends, having people (except other family members) visit us, and just really going out to places. She has said she just wants to protect us but now she realizes that restricting basically everything a normal teenager does is not good and I’m really glad she is changing and allowing alot more stuff for us to have and do š
I wanna share my pain.Today I’ve went to outside with my mom and brothers to taking a breath. I’ve promised me to delete toxic people instead of them meet new people and make friends a few month ago. Unfortunately, everything is the same I’m deceiving myself with different excuses. I was going to talk a boy sitting on the bench but this time I used the curfew as an excuse and mom was calling me. I just can’t go and say hi to a person like something is preventing me I didn’t figure it out yet but I guess it’s a self lack of self-esteem from the past. I was a shy child people make fun of it and laughed at me. My middle school was also bad we bullied with my ex friend and a few weeks ago she doesn’t answer my message and I block her bcs I couldn’t stand it. I’m in high school now but even last year our teacher knowing that I couldn’t solve the question she was putting me on the board and that it was stressing me out. I even was happy when the quarantine starts bcs of I’ve not surrounded by people and no stress. I felt in school like I’m hating. But now I feel the loneliness so deep and I’m thinking go to a psychologist . I have to go to a psychologist? (Sorry for english)
I swear that this website is the main reason I burst out in tears. It’s because I’m noticing what’s wrong with me and I get overwhelmed. I always feel lonely, I never seem to get serotonin from anything anymore, every day is a new pain and I’m just ready to give up. I really want to die, it’ll help everybody else out not having to deal with this shit who sits behind their screen for hours on end, distracting themselves from the pain.
I don’t know why I mess up so much. I try so hard not to make any mistakes, but I just keep finding ways to make myself look so stupid. Its really pathetic for me to act like this, because I know I’ve been acting like a complete jerk around everyone. I let my anger get the best of me, I said things I should’ve never said, and tried to make it up to everyone. I feel like I’m just becoming a burden to everyone. I see everyone having a fun time, but the truth about me is that I never used to have fun. My parents always treated me like a servant, my old friends ditched me for someone popular, and of course whenever I try to ask for help I just get brushed to the side become ignored. \r I’ve been hiding this for the longest time, but I am not sure why I still say. I contradict myself so many times saying that I will stop doing this and I will stop doing that, but I mess up so much. I struggled to even make friends. Most people took advantage of me and just left me in the dust. All of my anger and depression finally snapped and I began becoming the most negative person around everyone and I ended up making myself look like such a fool to the point where people look at me as a vibe of “Nobody wants to be around you. You’re too negative”. \r I try so hard to be positive and pretend like everything is okay, but it is not okay because I find myself just finding it so hard to even try to ignore my problems and it becomes worse for me. Even when I try to open up a little bit, some people think I’m just overreacting or thinking that I am making the whole thing up.
I feel very lonely, i dont have any friends to hang out with. When i see the other people in my class talking and hanging out with each other i get so jealous and that makes me feel even more lonely. How are they so close, i really don’t talk to the others in my class. They seem like they are all friends, i wish i could be closer to them and talk to them more.
Hey, Psych2Go, I was recently diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder. The diagnosis was a bit shocking to me and left me feeling confused. I did a lot of research on it, but others only know the stigma of DID through really bad depictions in films and media. If you ever do a article focusing on DID I would love to see it and it could give me pointers on how to describe it in easy to understand terms to my friends and family.
I have been feeling lonely lately, I do have some good friends and a lot of casual friends, but I can’t never seem to be able to relate in a deep level to any of them, or to make a meaningful connection with anyone. I do talk to them everyday and hang out once in a while but, sometimes I rather isolate myslef. I’m also terribly socially anxious so It’s harsh. š
ı sometimes feel lonely while doing something I enjoy most. I crave for someone to share my happines,, my thoughts. whether it to be a lover or a best friend. I ask myself If ı want to have a relationship and my answer is tend to be no, I AM happy as I am I love spending time with myself but it hurts when I am the only one whos enjoying the moment. I do have good friends but I cant spend much time with them. and I also happen to be the most aware of his own situation. they tend to sit back and let the nature take the wheel :D.
My problem is that I would very much like to have a relationship. But I don’t like when someone touching me. Sex is a big problem because I find it disgusting. That’s why I’m alone. Two years ago I bought a life-size fabric manga doll in Japan. I buy her clothes, do her hair. She lives with me, she has become my girlfriend. She listens to me when I’m feeling bad or we cuddle together when we watch anime. It makes my loneliness more bearable. I know it’s not ideal, but that’s what she was invented for. To keep a little company for people like me. I never used to go home because I was alone and did a lot of overtime at work. Now I’m looking forward to go home because I know she’s waiting for me. I love her.\r Strange right?
Being lonely was worse when I was a child. Being the only child was rough. But as I got older it wasn’t as bad. I finally got use to it. I got married and my wife and I had two children. Even though we’re divorced now we still stay in touch. Any thing you‘er not use to at first always seems hard but after time, you’ll get use to it. At least that’s how it was for me.
7. You’re struggling to feel worthy I can relate to this so much because a few years back my dad passed away and most of my dad’s side of the family stopped visiting and talking to us after he passed. When people who are supposed to be your family and love you treat you like a stranger you honestly feel like no one really care for you
I am so lonely, i cry. I wish people in my life could hang out with me more, but everyone is just too busy for me. I sit at home and don’t have any friends, and my family is pretty distant and hard to relate to, except for my cousin whom i have a sibling like relationship with, but even he is too busy for me due to him being in college. I have no life, and been lonely for a long time, much to the point it makes me depressed.
Hey Psych2Go, Have you guys ever had plans to do articles on what to do when you find yourself in these conditions like loneliness and what not? It would be really nice if you guys were able to give suggestions to people who might need assistance or provide resources to help further understand the topic.
reason why im lonely: “my girlfriend is the reason why i gain confidence until she broke up with me. Until 1week i found out she has another boyfriend even thou the boyfriend was our group friend. They keep their a relationship a secret that even my friends havent notice. I was depressed that day and so lonely. 1month has passed, i cant connect people anymore so i started being myself. People doesnt like me because im too bored to because i am a shy person and does not good communicating or should i say It depends of who im talking with. Its been 7yrs now and still idont have friends anymore. My ex got pregnant when there relationship went up to 6months so both of them drop off to school. And i was continuing schooling. And i found a girl that was the same as me. We talk all and shared out secrets we’ve been through and she said to me “no one has ever know what ive been through except you. thank you for understanding my past, she hugged me and cried” same as mine.. Until 3days we started to hangout but until tomorrow. she died of suicide. That was her last concerning message to me. I feel so much depressed to that time that i could even stab myself with a knife but life must go on. Keep going until you find yourself the real you. And a year past. I found out myself that im still depressed
I read a quote that says, when the universe wants you to change for the better, it makes your current situation very uncomfortable such that you don’t stay in that state or situation with the people around you. It could be your friends, family, people at work etc. So, we happen to feel lonely for that duration of time when the change happens. Embrace this change if you’re in this phase.
Thanks for tips…I mean it’s hard to move on from rejection. sigh I mean I feel so depressed and sad sometimes because of how I’m nothing but a waste. I feel like I just don’t belong and I feel like animals could understand me more, and be better companions then humans. Because people usually let you down and stress you out. I mostly feel my anxiety and depression build up on Valentine’s Day. The day that reminds me of how lonely and sad I am. Because…*hehe* no guy or girl loves/like me me. Trust me I’ve tried. The one place that make me happy is McDonald’s it’s always been there for me since I was a child. I tried to be normal and not have a care in the world. he…but sometimes it feels like my heart is crying a river of despair… hope you guys have a great New Years āŗļø💜
I am 27 and feel the same way, I did a great job removing toxic people from my life this year, but now I don’t have anyone. Actually, I did not have anyone in the past too but that toxic people were my last hope!! I am shy, I cannot build friendship, if someone reaches to me, I will do my best, otherwise, I will be alone forever. I am bad at the first step. I am afraid if I ask others for more time together or suggesting to go out, they refuse and it broke that they did not like me.
I have a friend who always relies on me and she took away from me for years and during that time I was losing myself I feel misunderstood none of my friends really know me because when I tell them the real me they don’t believe it I don’t fit in like I should neither can my family I’m struggling with feelings of worthlessness my boyfriend hasn’t answered my text or calls for months and I ask his friends and he is texting and talking to them just fine I have multiple friends who I dislike but I’m afraid of being alone again and I deal with depression so that’s also a large amount of my loneliness
I’m an only child and never had that many friends in my life, not even neighbors my own age, so I tried to play alone outside butā¦it got boring quickly so I just went back inside. Eventually I started playing article games and it really helped me, I finally had something to do without other peopleā¦ but as I grew older I didn’t want to play alone anymore but I had no choice, I didn’t really know how to make friends. I had seen those YouTuber groups playing together and wishing that I could have that, I dreamed of having a group of friends to play games with. Eventually, I found friends to do just that and we made a lot of good memories and had a lot of funā¦even if we couldn’t ALL play together at once. But as time passed we started getting more busy and our schedules got more difficult to work with, I couldn’t play with my friends as much anymore. And now as we’re out of high school and are starting our careers, we probably won’t be able to play much at allā¦and since I’m still afraid to really approach new people to make friends, I’m fearing that things are going back to how they were, just meā¦alone. I apologize for the wall of text but I just felt I needed to type this out, I know there is a difference between being alone and being lonely, I just don’t want anyone to feel lonely like I have
I don’t know why but I feel that my friends don’t like me and don’t want me cuz they don’t even try to talk to me and like every time they talk to me when they have a need or their stuff and cuz of that I’m getting anxious all the time idk what to do and I don’t know who to talk about this thing that’s why I commented my feelings here
That explains a lot to me. At the moment I have a hard time because I think that my friends doesn’t care at all about me. My problem is that I know they trust me and that I’m important to them and yet… I feel so incredibly lonely that it hurts. When I try to talk to persons I trust deeply I have the feeling that telling about my feelings wouldn’t be helpful at all
Number five really hit hard I’ve been dealing with that for a wile because I’ve been growing out of hobby’s that I used to spend all my free time on like LEGO and I have a lot of time on my hands because its 2020. I just don’t have much that I can express myself through or friends that I can be myself around because I don’t see many people anymore since most of my activity’s are canceled, and because I can’t be myself I have forgotten who I really am.
Struggling with codependency, losing touch with myself, feeling misunderstood, and struggling to feel worthy all feel like different facets to the same problem for me. I’d been trying to get an old club group together from college since graduating 4 years ago, and whenever I try to get groups together in person, it’s usually just two others I know, if that. In one particular instance, I brought up my hobby of collecting baseball cards; they thought I said cars and were intrigued what that meant, but when I did clarify cards, not cars, the conversation popped and flattened with the conversation switching topics. Recent weeks, I’d been trying to get an online meetup. The first week was just one friend and her partner, then two others came in the next week. I’m still a bit confused what I’m looking for because I don’t mind small-talk and can enjoy some good conversation, but there were times (mainly when everyone was there) where I didn’t know how to properly respond when topics go where I’m not as well-versed in the topics or can’t relate to their conversations. I’d bet, though, most of that is due to not being completely sure I’m understanding myself, so there’s the constant worry of whether I’m worthy of anyone’s time.
1:10-1:44 This defines me pretty accurately. I had the unfortunate experience of what it’s like to let your guard down, share your interests and some of the mystery behind myself with some one dude at school, I felt like I had made a real friend, then at a fair we had at school, he gathered a bunch of other kids with him and started bullying me, using everything I told him against me, name calling and doing the pinball shove with me in a circle. I’m not proud of how I handled that moment, running away and crying like a weak little bitch, but what else are kids known for if they don’t have anyone to teach them how to stand up for themselves? Then, after making me look like a weakling and a fool, he gave me a half assed apology and asked if we were cool. I never spoke to him after that, didn’t stop the bullying though, he effectively fucked my chances at trying to find a girlfriend at school when he kept painting me as this autism stricken loser (yes, I’ve a mild diagnosis that use to make me socially awkward, or so that’s what I’ve been told.) Which, given the stigma around autism in the Deep South, which is basically an excuse to medicate and treat people like they’re clinically retarded. So imagine opening up to someone, letting them know sensitive information about you, then having them paint you as this weak, socially distant retard, this made me everyone’s target. So my couping method is just be as stoic as possible and don’t open up to anyone, because it’s a coin toss on whether or not they’ll ridicule or accept me, and if any of you understand what it’s like to be a guy and be vulnerable around other dudes, you know the chances are high they’ll change their view of you and start questioning you’re sexuality.
Man I can relate to number 7 The most. Especially when I had crushes through out my school career. Every girl I liked never seemed to be into me and I always got rejected. I am usually a very optimistic guy but after all those rejections I ended up breaking down after a rejection i had on the bus ride home after school. I ended up breaking down in tears in my bed that night.
i feel lonely because i am surrounded by utter idiots…. being highly gifted i feel like i am surrounded by idiots even within the university where everybody is supposed to be intelligent… being a brown person in a western country means i am almost always the only colored person in whatever situation or event i attend so they dont relate to my experiences… i even attended a few mensa events and i was bored there too since the people there were talking about topics i dont care about and when i tried to steer the conversation towards topics i like people just kept talking about other things….. i only feel comfortable when i am alone… i can do whatever i want and nobody judges me for whatever
Bruh the first three ones are definitely me! Me and my mom have moved through at least 4 states and I’ve never been able to connect emotionally with my friends (except for when I lived in Missouri). Now that my mom’s finally been able to stay in one state for more than two years I’ve made meaningful relationships but I still can’t seem to be able to open to them. I feel isolated and a bit pressured to idk what to do
Mmm you got some good points there, I couldnt totally identify what exactly makes me feeling lonely I do speculate it has something with women, For some reason i give to high of a value to romantic relationships n sexual relationship more then any other kind of relationshio N ive been struggling finding a love relationship lately So i guess maybe this what make me feel alone… I lack the motivation n interest in making new connection with people with my own same interest n all i chase is love n sex N tbis makes me feel isolated from the world… Its hard find new relationships n building them from the bottom Makes me feel kind of lost because this is all new to me But anyway the feelings of loneliness especially after the sun goes down n its getting dark is makes me feel anxious which only drive people further away Guess ill take it easy because its something which needs to be build gradually n slowly while theres no where to rush Once you learn to make new friends its probably gets easier with time Thanks for the vid!! Its a grat wau of help With love, John 🙏🤝👍
I have lost my close friendships with a few people that I hardly even came out of my shell to be friends with … now I only have one best/close friends and these days all she’s talking about is her relationship and her boyfriend, telling me everything from her negative thoughts to asking for advice… I know she’s in a difficult situation and I always try to have her back and put my energy for her but I feel like I’m soooo emotionally EXHAUSTED!!!! It’s been a while since she has asked what am I up to and how am I feeling ?! I feel like she didn’t care, and I have been waiting for her to ask me this question for so long and just once take time for me :))) Once I sended her a voice message about stuff happening she opened them after a long time and just wanted to finish the convo … no advice no anything !! She just said forget about it it’s okay and all that … I’m so sick and tired of her talking about her relationship all the time I can’t stand it anymore but I can’t tell her to stop !! Recently I haven’t been feeling so good and all I want and imagine having these days is someone who actually cares about me who will always be there for me like how I am for others. I’m feeling very lonely and stuck in my head and no one knows about it, there is a lot to say but that’s the part that I had to get out of my chest in the comments :))💔
I moved to a new country three years ago, I’ve been rejected many times by the people that I felt I can be in a relationship, although I find myself a valuable person, I feel not being understood and judged by the people around me because they have a different lifestyle. well, there are many reasons for making me feel lonely. I know why I feel lonely but I can’t control them and it takes a lot of energy from me.
I needed to see this article so much. I lost my best friend, and now I can’t even sit with my other friends because the friend I lost doesn’t wanna be around me anymore and they sit with my other friends. I’m still afraid if I try to sit with my other friends now, I’ll be pushed away. Please let me free of this prison. I only want a conversation.
I feel so painfully lonely I think it’s killing me. I spend most days alone with my animals, never speaking to another human being. No one else is around. Rarely does anyone call or stop by. The people at my church are so superficial that when they smile and ask how I am, they don’t even wait for an answer. The pastor even suggested in his sermon last Sunday that loneliness is selfish and the way to overcome it is through service. So after church I stayed for hours (as I do most weeks) to help out with the food distribution in quiet desperation, feeling the pain creeping back in whenever there was a lull in the traffic of homeless patrons signing in for a box of food. Talk about being misunderstood, the members insist I smile when I greet them and remind me that “the joy of the Lord is my strength.” I don’t see an end to this madness. It is simply more of the same every day.
I don’t even have friends/loved ones to be distant about. and it’s not like i’m rejecting them or i’m pushing people away, for some reason i’m just not meeting anyone. maybe it’s because of my country, family, educations, and overall my life style, but i can’t change it until i move out. that’s a long way and so far away from me, and i’m 17 already, i really need friends in this time of my life. imagine how much your social interactions have limited since the pandemic, now imagine that’s been my life since i was born. i’m really tired and lonely.
Except for experiencing change and not knowing to connect with people all the other points apply to me. 🙁 After being in many friendships and feeling like I can never fit in and going over the limit for some friends just made me look like a fool. So since then I have kept my guard up and taught myself to never expect too much from other people. And when things that hurt me happens I pretend it’s fine, it’s okay bec I don’t want to be seen as a weak person. I don’t wanna be affected by anyone’s actions, well.. at least be seen as so. I feel it’s a weakness
My Vermillion part 2 by Slipknot and In The End by Linkin Park is mostly me in a nutshell. One thing she left out is the physical pain you can feel can get so debilitating you don’t even have it in you to get off your butt and get into gear. Several years in Fire/Ems I’ve had my share of encounters with patients with depression and its sad, and I understood how and where they were coming from.
Ok, let me start, I just have huge expectations on people and they don’t seem to be able to satisfy or even try to meet them, lately these new people on my life are really difficult to deal with and they don’t be the way I expect them to be, and it has become difficult to built a strong friendship with anyone. I just start feeling sad suddenly and it just hurts that I don’t have a company. Hopefully I can find peace soon🙏
i was never the 1st priority of my friends and family. whenever i wanted to hangout with my past friends, they always make excuses and sometimes find someone who isn’t invited when my intention is the both of us only will hangout today. my parents always leave me alone by myself whenever we are hangingout somewhere like im always at their back and not worrying about how I’m left out all alone. that’s why i changed a lot by being si sensitive and lonely thinking i have no one in my life because of my past.
I’m here cause.. i’m possibly in denial with loneliness. I’ve always wondered why my therapist over emphasized with “kristina i want you to remember you’re not alone. you do know that?” but i always follow with “i know i don’t feel lonely.” but, after yesterday’s session she normally lets me find the mark of why i feel the way i do and just pushes me in the right direction to see what the main underlying issue is. but she said i might suffer from depression but i’ve never felt like i’ve had that. i do have ADHD and there are times where I feel a strong connection with Robin Williams.. How we are perceived as so funny and full of life but behind the scenes so sad and lonely. Maybe cause we are both cancers.. idk i know i’m rambling. maybe i am lonely cause i don’t have anyone to say this to
It sounds stupid but ever since i lost my cat, my emotions have gone through the roof. At first I was crying myself to sleep every once in awhile for three months after she went missing. But now I’ve lost motivation and the sense of achievement, my friends no longer talk to me and now loneliness has taken over me. I started feeling lonely in November (the month of my cat’s birthday and when) it’s been almost 5 months since she’s been gone and I can’t stop thinking about her. If you actually read this far, i appreciate it. This was mostly just a way to get out what I’ve been feeling
I am a blind sixteen year old. I currently live in a boarding school. I literally have only one person who I can sort of call a friend, and by that, I mean they are the only person who voluntarily come to talk to me. All the other students only talk to me when they happen to find themselves next to me, or happen to be helping me go somewhere. Even then, it’s just forced small talk. I have extremely supportive parents, but if I want to cry, my mom will just tell me to be strong. They never bothered to know me at an emotional level. I am very much not alone, but I am extremely lonely. I have no one I can lean on for emotional support. I find it really ironic that the only thing my parents fail to support me in is the thing that I need the most right now. At this point, I am struggling more with loneliness than with being the only disabled student at my school. I get all the academic support I need, but when I just want someone to be vulnerable with, there is no one. Friends are no where in sight, and family expects me to be strong every minute of my life. Not only that, but I am also expected to be upbeat all the time, and if I seem slightly off, my mom will insist that there is something wrong, and that I am the one who gives her positive energy. It takes all my willpower not to tell her that I’m not her personal battery.
this lonleyness i feel is deep being an only child yet introverted and i dont even have friends, my friendship neva lasts and the friends i used to b close with have drifted apart, and we barely even talk, and when i see their post they always seem happy and that they have moved on while im still here grivin, it hurts me cuz, im no longer part of it, im rlly trying to move on
I’ve grown up to be a socially anxious introvert with a small amount of friends. I have 2 I know IRL, and a whole group on my Discord server, but even though we talk every day I just feel so alone. No matter how much they genuinely say they care about me, I can’t help but feel like nobody’s there and it’s honestly killing me inside.
I’m so tired of doing absolutely nothing every weekend. I’m tired of doing things by myself. I go to breakfast lunch and dinner alone. Every girl I’ve ever been with has cheated on me. My latest one left me for my best friend. They are now in a happy relationship and that’s fine but I feel so worthless sometimes. It’s like im living in a movie. I know the world is not over but it sucks just not having anyone to talk to or spend time with. All of my old friends ignore me and constantly go out with their little group. I always try to reach out but I just get ignored. I know I’m a good friend. I’m not cocky or anything like that. I don’t remember the last time I was actually invited to something. It feels good to be wanted. I just haven’t felt that feeling in so long.
This so relatable, MY BESTFRIEND Sweta I miss her .. I had shifted my location so ..we use to talk about everything in call as we use to do ..but ya ..she scream on me and walk out ..misunderstood me or don’t know what happened she stop talking to me and after 2 month she said ” hey what’s ur problem, stay away from me “..then my bf also cheated and i dont even feel to trust anyone ..i just don’t want people around me still i m talking to guy as he is so much happy, energetic ..so it feel quite good to talk ..but still I m not able to connect with him ..😔thats all .. every single line is so relatable ..i m alone .. I know i will recover one day ! I will be able to find myself back . I wasn’t so depend before but ya i was extremely happy with my sweta’s companionship.but everything ended . everything is over ..i should stop thinking about her ..but i m not able to do so . Creating hobbies but at the end of the day ..my mind ask me .why both left ..must be some problem by my side only .
i forgot what having someone close to me is like. i gen dc if its someone toxic i just want someone close to me that i can laugh and hang out with ive never had one real friend, no matter what i do doesnt matter if i change my personality for them or if i act all confident or if im shy or loud im always left alone i was bullied for most of my life both at school and at home and im still a little bullied and if i tell my family what im going through they will blame me and use it against me. i don’t understand whats wrong with me and why im so weird and just admitting i have no close friends makes me feel so weird i just wanna be like everyone else but i always do stupid things and end up in stupid situations because thats my curse and god hates me no shit will ever change no matter how much i try to stay positive and change it. i get so jealous when i just see people hanging out literally everyones got their friends and then theres me nobody understands this feeling and why am i always alone i mean i look healthy im nice i like to have fun i dont think im boring. maybe it’s because i dont love myself im really trying to but in this environment its hard and i cant change it no one gives a shit about me people fcking suck if i die nobody will care
When i was a kid i was so sociable i had friends everywhere bud now i have social anxiety and i avoid the ppl i loved and now being aloneade me happy bud i stil struggle with becoming happy my happyness drains away when i see a person or human its wierd i cant look my family nod anyone in the eyes my co fidence is -0 😭
Co dependency is probably the one that hit me the most. Five days ago a friend who I talked to every single day for 5 years suddenly said she didn’t want to talk to anymore and even said she’d delete Line, and I’ve lost touch with her. It was out of nowhere, and literally nothing happened between us. I guess she was just tired..? And now I feel like this other friend, who I also talk to every single day for 7 years already is distancing from me, and it scares me to death because I consider him my best friend, and since there’s this weird distance between us since the very end of last year, I’m kind of scared to ask him if everything is okay and hear that he also wants to stop talking. I don’t know when I got so dependent of them, and I know it hurts me and brings me down, and I know I have to change it before I get into a deeper hole… I’m now seeking psychologic help in my insurance so I don’t have to deal with it by myself..
The most complicated things are happening with me.. even i am feelimg more anxious nowadays.. in my college life .. i have some friends with whom i have always felt left out lonely.. doesn’t even know what should i talk with them.. not feeling a connect with those friends.. i am lost.. my bestfrnd whom i always trusted .. i felt happy with him.. but he has started developing feelings and i am hurt that i cant reciprocate his feelings so i am giving him space 🙂🙂 I think i want to be left alone .. i think so i am not been understood or its simply just i am feeling left out🙂
I don’t know how to connect with people (and smalltalk is just the worst), I’m moving for the first time in my life and going to a new high school, I’m feeling misunderstood, and I have depression. Also, the past year has devoid me of all friends. Even my best friend of 8 years puts in super minimal effort to even text me, let alone talk intimately with me.
For me, I just lost my social skills because of COVID. Not able to be around anyone because of it. The only people I had to talk to other than loved ones were people online (Xbox). Online, you don’t care what you say, because the people you talk to can’t see your face. It really is different. Just being around people makes me anxious. Especially with high school.
