As a New Yorker, I have Dominican parents and DR is a beautiful country. Things happen in every country, no country is perfect, people need to be careful what we eat or drink. When I visit there I detox my body bc the foods prepared have different oils and seasonings. I am not a drinker but if you on medication you cannot drink and if you are staying in a hotel look for reviews. That is my advice other than that, people should not stop traveling to DR.
